tentsofthisStandard,foranyerrorsoromissionsherein,orfortheresultsobtainedfromtheuseoftheinformationcontainedinthisStandardorforanytrainingorsafetyprogramsthatmaybedevelopedfromtheuseoftheinformationinthisStandard.EachTrainingProvideriscompletelyresponsibleforitsowntrainingprograms,whetherornottheyareTrainingProgramsapprovedbytheOSSA.AllinformationsetoutinthisStandardisprovidedasis,withnoguaranteeofcompleteness,accuracy,timelinessoroftheresultsobtainedfromtheuseofthisStandard.Thereisnowarrantyofanykind,expressorimplied,including,withoutlimitation,warrantiesofperformance,merchantabilityandfitnessforaparticularpurpose.InnoeventwilltheOSSAMembersandEmployees,oranyOrganizationormemberthereofwhoacceptsoracknowledgesthisStandard,beliabletothereader,useroranyoneelseforanydecisionmadeoractiontakeninrelianceontheinformationinthisStandardorforanyconsequential,special,orsimilardamagesincluding,withoutlimitation,personalinjury,evenifadvisedofthepossibilityofsuchdamages,arisingorresultingfromtheinformationcontainedinthisStandardorforanyviolationbysuchuser,readerorotherpersonofanyLegislation.Certainwords,phrases,names,designsorlogosusedinthisStandardmayconstitutetrademarks,servicemarksortradenamesoftheOSSAanditsMemberOrganizations.ThedisplayofanysuchmarksornamesinthisStandarddoesnotimplythatalicensehasbeengrantedbytheOSSAoranyofitsMemberstousesuchmarksornames.SAFETYTRAININGSTANDARDSSTSAWP2005–18AERIALWORKPLATFORMSTANDARDJan_16_0711.2IntroductionThisAerialWorkPlatformSafetyTrainingStandardhasbeenestablishedtoguideTrainingProviderswithdirectiononminimumcontentrequirementstomeettheneedsoftheOSSAMembercompanies.Thedeliveryofthecontentandthecompletionoftheproficiencytestingwilltypicallytakeeight8hours,basedonanyorallofthefollowingThenumberofparticipantsThenumberofinstructorscompletingtheassessmentsThenumberofAerialWorkPlatformmachinesavailablefortesting.ItshouldbenotedthatthetrainingrequiredtomeetthisStandardfocusesontheneedsoftheenduser.Additionaltrainingmayberequiredforsupervisorsandengineerstoreflecttheirresponsibilitiesforthiscriticalsafetywork.ThisistheminimumstandardthatmustbemetinordertoreceiveAccreditationasanAerialWorkPlatformTrainingProviderfromtheOSSA.1.3ScopeEndusersworkersrequiredtoutilizeselfpropelledelevatingworkplatformsmustbetrainedandcompetentintheirproperuse,careandmaintenance.ThepurposeoftheOSSAAerialWorkPlatformStandardistoensurethatthoseworkersdemonstrateabasiclevelofknowledgeandproficiencyinAerialWorkPlatformequipmentuseandtheory.Subjecttotheprevioussentences,allprogramssubmittedforAccreditationmust,ataminimum,meettherequirementsspecifiedineachsectionofthisStandard.1.4TrainingPrerequisiteTheprerequisiteforparticipatinginanOSSAAccreditedAerialWorkPlatformtrainingprogramisthesuccessfulcompletionofanOSSAaccreditedFallProtectioncourse.1.5TrainingMaterialRequirementsTheprogramcontentforAccreditedSafetyTrainingProgramsforAerialWorkPlatformsmustensurethatallreferencestoweightandmeasuresareexpressedinbothimperialandmetricunits.Theprogramsarealsoexpectedtohaveavailable,ataminimum,themateriallistedbelowfortheuseoftheparticipants1Participantsuserguidesand/orworkbookstobekeptbytheuseruponsuccessfulcompletionoftheprogramthatcontaintheinformationprovidedinconjunctionwiththemajorheadingslistedwithinthisstandard.2AccesstoapplicablesectionsoftheAlbertaOHSAct,RegulationsandCoderegardingAerialWorkPlatform.
