However, they also had a great deal in common, and the two techniques have gradually merged further over the years. A PROTOTYPE EXAMPLETHE RELIABLE CONSTRUCTION CO. PROJECTThe RELIABLE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY has just made the winning bid(支付) of $5.4 million to construct a new plant for a major manufacturer. The manufacturer needs the plant to go into operation within a year. USING A NETWORK TO VISUALLY DISPLAY A PROJECTNetworks play a key role in dealing with projects. They enable showing the relationships between the activities and placing everything into perspective. Two alternative types of project networks are available for doing this.重庆大学制造工程研究所副所长重庆大学制造工程研究所副所长 鄢萍 教授 博士博士2007 SYSTEMS ENGINEERINGOne type is the activity-on-arc (AOA) project network, where each activity is represented by an arc. A node is used to separate an activity from each of its immediate predecessors. The arcs then are used just to show the precedence relationships between the activities. His first question has been answered in the preceding section.
