ndhavehealthandemotionalproblems.Sosports,likeanythingelseinexcess,canhavenegativeeffecttoo.WhenIwasyoung,Ilikedbooksandhatedsports.Isawotherpeoplewholovedsportsandhatedschool.NowthatIamolder,Ihavefoundabetterbalance.Peoplehavetofigureoutwhatsrightforthem.IstheresuchathingastoomuchsportsThereisnorightanswer,becausethereisnorightamount.Everyoneisdifferent.8.AdeviceorpillthathelppeoplesleepbetterIfIcouldinventsomethingnew,Iwouldinventadeviceorpillthatcouldputpeopletosleepimmediatelyandwouldhavenosideeffects.Theproperamountofsleepisimportantforourconcentraction,mentalhealth,andphysicalhealth.Gettingenoughsleepisavitalhumanneed.Foronething,withoutsleepourconcentrationisstronglyaffected.Weareeasilydistracted,wecannotrememberthings,andwedonotnoticewhatshappeningaroundus.Forexample,alotofcaraccidentsarecausedbytireddrivers.Whenwegetenoughsleep,ourpowersofconcentrationaresharper.Wearemorefocusedonwhatwearedoing.Weperformbetter.Mentalhealthisalsoaffectedbylackofsleep.Itiseasytotellifpeopledontgetenoughsleep.Theyreonedge,cranky,andoutofsorts.Theylosetheirtemperseasilyandoverreacttosituations.Infact,experimentshaveshownthatlackofsleepoveralongperiodoftimecancauseacompletementalbreakdown.Whenwegetourproperrest,wearemoreaboutandresponsive.Ouroutlookispositive,andwearemucheasiertogetalongwith.Ourphysicalhealthshowsthestrainofsleeplessness,too.Wehavelessenergy,andeverythingseemslikeamajoreffort.Overalongperiodoftime,webecomeslowandunresponsive.Thewearandtearonthebodyfromlackofsleepcanbeaveryserioushealthproblems.Everydoctorwilltellyouthatgettingenoughsleepisabasicfactorinmaintaininggoodhealth.Wouldntitbegreattogotobedeverynightknowingyoudhavenoproblemgettingtosleep,nomatterwhatsgoingoninyourlifeGettingenoughsleepisalwaysgoingtobeanimportantpartofhowyourespondtoyoursituation.Ithinkthisdevicewouldbeveryhelpfultoallofus.9.ShouldteachersbepaidonhowmuchtheirstudentslearnEducationplaysagreatroleintheadvancementandsuccessofeverysociety.Whiletherearemanyfactorswhichaffecthowwellastudentlearns,theteacherisnodoubtoneofthemostimportant.Somepeoplebelievethatteacherswouldbeabletoteachertheirstudentsmoreiftheywerebettermotivited.Forthisreason,theysuggestthatteachersbepaidaccordingtohowmuchtheirstudentslearn.Inmyopinion,thisisnotagoodideaforthefollowingreasons.First,althoughateachercanhaveagreatinfluenceonstudents,heisnotthesoledeterminerofthestudentssuccess.Otherfactors,suchastheschoolcurriculumandthehomeenvironmentofthestudents,mustbeconsidered.Therefore,notonlyistheplantopayteachersaccordingtothesuccessoftheirstudentsunfairtotheteachers,butitisleadtheeducationauthoritiestodisregardotherimportantfactors.Second,whilebasingtheirpayonhowmuchtheirstudentslearnmightmotivateteacherstotechbetter,itwillcertainlyleadthemtoputtoomuchpressureonthestudents.Furthermore,dependingonhowthestudentsareevaluated,suchasystemmightcauseteacherstoputtoomuchemphasisontestscoresandignoreothermeasurementsoflearning.Forthesereasons,Ithinkthatpayingteachersaccoringtohowmuchtheirstudentslearnisnotagoodidea.Itisunfairtoboththeteachersandthestudentsandmaybedetrimentaltothelearningprocess.This,inturn,wouldbedisadvantageoustothesocietyasawhole.10.ChildhoodthemostimportantyearsofapersonslifeIagreethatapersonschildhoodyears,frombirthtotwelveyearsofage,arethemostimportant.AlltheinformationIhavereadaboutthattimeoflifestatesthatthesearetheyearsthatformus.Theseyearsdeterminewhatkindofapersonthechildwillbecome.Duringtheseyearswelearnaboutrelationships,beginourformededucationanddevelopourmoralsenseofrightandwrong.Theearlyyearsarethetimewhenwelearnaboutrelationships.Firstwelearnaboutourparentsandsibings,thenaboutrestoftheworld.Welearnhowtorespondtoothersbaseonthetreatmentweregiven.Ifweareloved,thenweknowhowtoloveothers.Ifweretreatedharshly,wemaygrowuptotreatothersharshly.Wealsoformourideasaboutourownselfworthfromthewayotherstreatusduringtheseyears.Theycanconvinceusweareworthless,ortheycanteachuswedeserveloveandrespect.Theyaretheyearswhenbebeginourformaleducation.Weacquirethebasicskillsreading,writing,workingwithnumbers.Thatwellusethroughoutourlives.Weneedagoodfoundationinthesesubjects.Otherwise,anythingwetrytodolaterwillbeunderminedbyourlackofskills.Perhapsthemostimportantthingwecanlearnduringtheseyearsishowtoanalyzeinformationanduseit.Theseareskillsthatwillalwaysbeuseful.Mostimportant,formmypointofview,thesearetheyearswhenwedevelopourmoralsenseofwhatsrightandwrong.Othersteachusaboutgoodandbad,butlaterinourearlyyearswebegintodecideforourselves.Itisalsoduringthistimethatwebegintodeveloptheselfdisciplinetoliveaccordingtoourmorals.Ibelieveapersongrowsandchangesforthebetterthroughoutthemanystagesoflife.However,thefoundationislaidinthosefirstfewyearsoflife.11.WevaluescientistsmoreArtistsandscientistsbothmakevaluablecontributiontooursociety.Itmayseemsometimesthatartistsaremorevalued.Thatsbecausethoseartistswhoarefamousandmakealotofmoney.However,theyarerelativelyfew.Thefactisthatscientistsaremorevalued.Theygetmorerespectfromsocietyfortheworktheydo.Artistsreflecttheirtimesandtheirculture.Apainterorawritershowsusinpicturesandwordswhatwearelikeasapeople.Theyrecordourcultureforfuturegenerations.Actorsandotherperformers,likesingersanddancers,entertainus.Theytakeourmindsoffourtroubles,andremindushowbeautifulandexcitingourimaginationscanbe.Artistsalsohelpkeeptheirsocietiesmentallyandemotionallyhealthy.Forexample,childrenthatparticipateinthearts,suchaspaintingormusic,inschooldobetterintheirotherstudies.Artofalltypesisnecessarytothehumanspirit.Thecontributionsscientistsmaketosocietyaremoreobvious.Theyincludethecarswedrive,thecomputerweuseathomeandatwork,andtheappliancesthathelpuscookourmealsandcleanourhouses.Allofthesecomefromtheideasandhardworkforscientists.Becauseofscientificdiscoveries,werelivinglongerandmorehealthfullives.scientistsalsocontributetothearts.Moviesaretheresultofscience.Soaretelevision,radio,andtherecordingofmusiconCDs.Generally,scientistsdontmakeasmuchmoneyasfamousartistslikefilmstars,operasingersorsuccessfulpainters.However,oursocietygivesthemmorerespect,andtheygenerallymakeagoodliving.Scientistsareconsideredtobeseriousprofessionals,whileartistsaresometimesviewedasflaky,irresponsiblepeople.Sooverall,Idhavetoconcludethatwevaluescientistsmore.12.ItisalwaysbettertobealeaderAccordingtomyopinion,itisalwaysbettertobealeaderthanafollower.Trueleadersshowinitiative.Theytakeactionandtheyassumeresponsibility.Aleadermakesadecision.Somefollowersmayapproveofthedecision,othersmaycomplainaboutit.However,thesefollowersallchoosetofollow,nottolead.Theychoosenottomakeadecision.ThatshowIamdifferent.Iamnotafollower.Iwanttomakethedecisions.Goodleaderwillnotreacttoevents,butwillanticipatethem.Aleaderwillstartaplanofactionandthenwillpersuadeotherstofollow.Forexample,aclasspresidentatalocalcollegemayfeelthattherelationshipbetweenthecommunityandthecampusisnotagoodone.Thecitizensmayfeelthatthecollegekidsmaketoomuchnoiseonthestreet,litterpublicareas,andshopintheothercommunities.agoodclasspresidentwillrecognizethatthecommunityandthecampusdependononeanother.Thepresidentwillaskthestudentbodytokeepnoisedown,helpcleanuptheneighborhoods,andworkwithbusinessestoattractstudents.Agoodleadertakestheinitiative.Goodleadersmustbeactionoriented.Havingtakentheinitiative,theymustseethejobthrough.Theyhavetotakechargeandleadthefollowers.Theyhavetomotivateandencouragethefollowers.Thefollowersmustunderstandwhygoodrelationswiththecommunityarenecessary.Thefollowersmustbepersuadedtodosomethingaboutit.Ienjoytakingtheinitiative,determingthedirection,andbeingresponsibleformyactions.Idontwanttosufferthroughotherpeoplesstupiddecisions.Iftherearegoingtobestupidwaystodosomething,letthembemine.Wouldntyouagree13.ThemostimportantroominahouseThekitchenismyfavoriteroominahouse,becauseitiswherefamiliesgather.Tome,thatisthemostimportantthing.Somanyofthememoriespeoplehaveofgrowinguorevolvearoundthekitchen.Mychildhoodmemoriesconcernthekitchensinmygrandparentshomes.Mymothersfamilylivedinarowhouseinthecity.Theroomswereallsmall,andthatincludedthekitchen.Inthesummertime,thebackdoorofthehousewouldbeleftopen.Peoplewouldbesittingonthebackprochandinthekitchen,talkingandlaughing,whilemygrandmothermadedinner.Therewasnoairconditioning,butIdonteverrememberfeelingtoohot.Therewasalwaysabreezecomingthrough,alongwiththesoundsoftrafficandkidsplayingballinthestreet.Myfathersfamilyliveonafarminthecountry,andtheirhousehadahugekitchenwithwindowsonthreesides.Itseemedasifthewindowswerealwaysopenandthecurtainsblowingwiththebreeze.Themaindoortothehousewasalmostneverused.Everyonecameinthroughthekitchen,andsatatthebigtableinthemiddleoftheroom.Whendinnerwasbeingprepared,allthewomenwouldbustlearound,whilethemensatatthetabletalkingaboutfarmprices.Sometimesmygrandmotherwouldnotevensitdownduringdinner,butwouldberefilingbowlsoffoodandpeoplesglasses.Fromoutside,wecouldhearthecowsinthefieldnearthehouse.Thesetwokitchensarethebackgroundforsomeofmyhappiestmemories.Fromthebeginningoftime,humanbeingshavegatheredtogethernearthefirewherethefoodwasbeingprepared.Ihopethatneverchanges.14.InternationalaidforpoorcountriesisnecessaryTheeconomicandsocialgapsbetweenthedevelopedcountriesandthedevelopingcountriesarebecomingwiderandwiderinthepastdecades.Itisfrequentlydebatedintheinternationalforumswhetherthewealthycountriesshouldgivefinancialhelptothedevelopingcountries.Inmypersonalopinion,theformernotonlyoughttoprovide,butalsoshouldincreasetheaidtothelatter.Theindustrilazedcountrieshavetheresonsibilitytohelpthepoorcountrytosolvetheproblemsarisingfrompoverty.Inthepast,westerncountriesaccumulatedplentyoffortunebyexploitingthecolonizednations,andaccomplishedtheindustrialrevolutionprocess.Nowadays,althoughthecolonieshaveacquiredindependence,westerncountriesstillmakeenormousprofitseachyearthroughsellingtheirindustrialproducts,technologyandintellectualpropertiestotheunderdevelopedcountries.Duetolackoffundsfordevelopment,somecountriesareinextremepoverty.Hundredsofthousandsofpeopleareinhunger.Manyofthemdiedofstarvationandmalnutrition.Womenandchildrenaremorelikelytobecomethevictimsofpoverty.Isthereanye
