RegardingtheInternationalChildren'sDay,itiswidelycelebratedonJune1.Children'sDayhaditsoriginintheWorldConferencefortheWellbeingofChildreninGenevain1925.TheJune1datehasaChinese-USAorigin-andnothingtodowithCommunism.In1925,theChineseconsul-generalinSanFranciscogatheredanumberofChineseorphanstocelebratetheDragonBoatFestival.This,ofcourse,coincidedwiththeconferencementionedabove.June1somehowdiedoutintheUSA,onlytoberevivedacoupleofyearsago.However,eachcountrychoosesitsowndaytocommemorateit.
InternationalChildren’sDay
Thedate,June1st,hasbeenadoptedintheUSastheofficialday.Morethan30statesactivelyparticipateintheJune1stobservance.Theflaghasbeenadoptedbydozensofstatesandisbeingmanufactured.InternationalChildren'sDayflagThegreenbackgroundsymbolizesgrowth,harmony,freshness,andfertility;Wearesurroundedbytheabilitytogrow.Allwehavetodoisreachoutandembraceit.Thered&yellow,black&whitefiguresrepresentdiversityandtolerance.Ourchildrenarethekeytopeaceandtoleranceof:race,religion,physical,mental,andsocialdiversity.Thestar,whichismadeupofthefigures'legs,representslight.Wecanbealightfortheworld,ifwechoose.Thefivepointsonthestarrepresentthecontinents.Weareallpartofonetruerace,thehumanrace.Theearthfigure,whichisdirectlyinthecenter,representsourearthlyhomeandalltheblessingsonit,whichGodhasgivenusalltoshareandrespect.InternationalChildren'sDayflagThelargebluecircleengulfingthefiguressymbolizespeaceandGod'suniversallove.Italsorepresentstheunitythatwecanachieveifwereachouttooneanotherinlove.Bluesymbolizestrust,loyalty,wisdom,confidence,intelligence,faith,truth,andheaven.ThebluefigureatthetoprepresentsGod,whoistheauthor&finisherofallthings.Godlovesallofusequallyandweshouldbestrivingtoimitatethatlove(whichisrepresentedbythefiguresreachingouttoeachother)Children'sDayInDifferentCountriesChildren'sDayinJapanChildren’sDayinSouthKoreaChildren’sDayinGermanyChilren’sDayinTurkeyChilren’sDayinChinaChildren‘sDayisoneoftheholidaysinJapan.ItiscelebratedonMay5eachyear,whenJapancelebratetheirchildren’sgrowthonthatday.BeforeWorldWarII,itwascalledas“Tangonosekku”anditwasafestivalforboys.In1948,whenthefestivalbecameanofficialholiday,itbecameaholidayforwishingallchildren'shappinessandwelfare.Children'sDayinJapanChildren'sDayinJapanChildren’sDayinSouthKoreaChildren’sDayinGermanyChilren’sDayinTurkeyChilren’sDayinChinaSouthKoreanChildren'sDaywascreatedin1975asachangefromBoy'sDay.ItisanofficialholidaythroughouttheRepublicofKorea.ThisiscelebratedonMay5.Familiesusuallymakeoutingstochildren'sparks,amusementparks,zoos,orotherchildfriendlylocations.Children’sDayinSouthKoreaChildren'sDayinJapanChildren’sDayinSouthKoreaChildren’sDayinGermanyChilren’sDayinTurkeyChilren’sDayinChinaDuringtheColdWar,theChildren‘sDaywashandledquitedifferentlyinthetwostates.So,thedatewasdifferentthenamewasslightlydifferent.InternationalChildren'sDay"FRG:"WorldChildren'sDay"andmostnotably:thecustomsweredifferent.Sincetheaffiliationin1990,thedateandnameusedintheFRGhavebecometheofficialonesfortheformerGDRaswell.ThishoweverwasnotacceptedbylargepartsoftheformerGDRpopulation,sothatstillmanyparentscelebratewiththeirkidsontheformerdate.Children’sDayinGermanyChildren'sDayinJapanChildren’sDayinSouthKoreaChildren’sDayinGermanyChilren’sDayinTurkeyChilren’sDayinChinaApril23isthe"NationalSovereignityandChildren'sDay"inTurkey.ThedatecommemoratestheopeningofTurkishNationalAssemblyin1920duringtheTurkishIndependenceWar.ThedesignationofChildren'sDaycamein1929upontherecommendationoftheInstitutionofChildren'sProtection.Since1986theTurkishgovernmentorganizesaninte
