摘要 人们在人际交往过程中，彬彬有礼，谈吐谦恭是现代文明及个人修养的体现， 有助于提高生活及工作环境的质量。在语言学界，已经有许多大家着重讨论过这 一语言现象，诸如l a k o f f , l e e c h ，b r o w na n dl e v i n s o n 等。他们研究了“礼貌”的 模式、原理以及策略等方面的内容。本论文拟采用b r o w na n dl e v i n s o n 的礼貌策 略对语言的应用加以分析，因为相比较而言，他们的理论较为完整，适用性较强， 而且此理论着重强调了言语交流中的礼貌，恰好符合本论文旨在讨论的主题：夸 张作为一种修辞手段，在日常交流中如何促进、提升礼貌的表述。 夸张，在我们日常生活中无处不在。作为一种修辞手段，夸张在文学作品， 尤其是诗歌方面具有悠久的历史。但近些年，不少语言学家观察到夸张在日常会 话中也普遍存在。人们在交流中的互相理解，能更好地发挥夸张的作用。夸张只 是过份夸大了说话人想要表达的真正意思。它与反讽之间存在着本质的区别a 夸 张不是谎言，它的真实本质是事实。说话人借用这种手段来突出表现自身强烈的 情感和真诚的态度，从而使听者能真切地感受到他所想表达的真正含义。从中可 以看出，适当地运用夸张，能更好地达到礼貌的效果，从而使谈话双方的关系变 得更为融洽。 本文选用了美国近年来的一部热播剧绝望主妇中的对话来证实夸张在礼 貌交往中的作用。这部电视剧获奖无数，而且它生活化的语言正是本文所关注的 焦点。经过分析，证实了夸张确实有助于提升人们在日常交流中的礼貌程度。 关键词：夸张；语言学礼貌；日常会话 a b s t r a c t b e i n gp o l i t ea n dc o u r t e o u si nc o m m u n i c a
