英汉人称性别名词标记性现象的对比研究 摘要 标记现象就是两个对立语言项二元和不对称分布的现象。标记中对立关系是雅克 布逊于1 9 2 1 年首先提出的，但是，他的标记理论只是应用于音位学。随着时间的推 移，这一理论可以应用于任何语言平面，包括音位、形态、语法、句法甚至是语用平 面。 据笔者了解，在过去的相关研究和著作中，英语或汉语性别名词的标记现象只是 稍有涉及，对性别名词标记现象的英汉差异方面的研究工作更是做的不够。有鉴于此， 本文旨在从语义和形态方面对英汉语人称性别名词有无标记现象进行较为详细和系 统的对比描述，并将对比研究的结果应用于人称性别名词的英汉互译。 据发现，英语阳性人称名词往往是无标记的，阴性人称名词是有标记的。与英语 小同，汉语人称性别名称在使用中没有这种有标记和无标记的对立，因为汉语通常在 人称名词前使用性别标记才能区分性别，而且大部分名词在加上性别标记后不再像英 语中同类词那样是独立的词，而是成了词组。然而，在性别名词的使用中，英汉两种 语言都有标记不对称和标记颠倒的现象。 现把本文主要观点和发现小结如下： 1 ，英汉语阳性人称名词和阴性人称名词的标记性存在显著的差异。( 英语阳性人称名 嗣可以是无标l 庀的，在语义上包含阴性人称名词的所表示的概念，但阴性人称名 词不能是无标记的。汉语则截然不同，绝大部分人称名词是双性名词，必须要加 特别的性别标记变成词组才能区分性别，当然我们不能否认其中有一部分已经“词 化”，但是它们不管在语义上还是在形态上都不可能是无标记的a ) “ 2 两种语言的人称性别名词都有标记颠倒和中和的现象。也就是说，性别标记的分 布是不对称的，在某些语境中无标记和有标记的对立还会消失或中和。心理和文 7秒 化方面的因素是人称性别名词标记颠倒的主要原因o j 。 3 要对人称性别名词标记现象作详尽的研究需要对人称代词，尤其是性别敏感的人 称代词作细致的研究。，英语第三人称代词在口语和书面语中都有性的区别，但汉 语第三人称代词性的区别只表现在书面语中，在口语中没有性的区别。而且，在 汉语书面语中第三人称代词的复数形式不仅有男性和女性的区别，还有人和物的
