Warm up & Lead-in教师活动1) Ask: How long have you studied English?Let Ss answer the question by themselves firstly. If they cannot answer the question in correct English, tell them to use the structure “for ”2) And then let the students practice “how long” and “for”学生活动1) the Ss try to answer the question, but maybe they do not know how to express themselves correctly2) the Ss can use the structure “for” after the teacher tell them the structure3) the Ss try to make up sentences about “how long” and “for”2. Vocabulary Practice教师活动1) Lead students to read the words in the box in A12) Lead students to remember how to read the year “1995,1998,2003,2006”3) Act1.4) Act2.学生活动1) Students read the words.2) Students remember the words quickly and close their books and recollect them.3) Students do Act1. and check answers.4) Act2. Students discuss it in pairs and give answers.3. Listening and reading教师活动1) Show some questions about the conversation on ppt. Ask Ss to listen and answer them. Then check the answers.2) Play the tape again and ask Ss to do Part 4 while listening. 3) Take notes on the Bb and explain any difficulty.学生活动1) Students listen and answer questions.2) Do part 4 while listening.3) Ss raise problems to the teacher and take notes in notebooks.4.Grammar focusing教师活动1) Enable the Ss to read in characters. Underline the sentences with “for” and “since”2) Act 5.
