Knowledge Objects.Key vocabulary:storm, wind, light, report, area, wood, window, match, flashlight, beat, against, asleep, fall asleep, die down, rise, fallen, apart.Phrases:black clouds, feel like, fall asleep, put pieces of wood over the windows, make sure, beat against, in a mess, die down, fallen trees, broken windows, bring people closer together, hear strong wind outside his home, with no light outside, in the area, beat heavily against the windows, break many things apart.Target language:(1)Black clouds were making the sky very dark.(2)With no light outside, it felt like midnight. (3) It was hard to have fun with a serious storm happening outside.(4) Although the storm broke many things apart, it brought families and neighbors closer together.2.Ability ObjectBy reading training, get the students master the past progressive tense better and learn how to talk about past events.3. Moral Objects.Lets help each other, then we will be closer together! 学情分析 The students have learned past progressive tense in the first and second period. They master the grammar well. Thislesson is a reading lesson. After the listening, reading and grammar class. Studentshave prepared for the reading class. 重点难点 key points:1.To improve reading skills.2. Master the key phrases and sentences.Difficult points:Learn to talk about past events using the past progressive tense.教学过程 Fastreadingandmatching Get the students to read fast than match each paragraph with the process of storm: before the storm, during the storm, after the storm.Detail reading1.Beforethestorm .1.Get students to read para1 quickly and answer questions:(1)What was the weather like before the storm started?(2)What did the news on TV reported?2.Teacher get the students to follow the tape recorder to read paragraph 1and 2, explains the language points of paragraph1.3.Get students to read para2 quickly and answer questions:(1)What was Bens father doing before the storm came?(2)What was Bens mother doing before the storm came?(3)What other things do we need to prepare?4.Teacher get one student to read paragraph2, then explains the language points of paragraph2.5.Get students to read para3 quickly and answer questions:(1)What was Ben doing when it rained heavily?(2)What did Bens family do after dinner? Did they have fun?6.Teacher get the all the students to read together then explains the language points of paragraph3.7.Afterthestorm(Groupwork) Get students to talk about the questions and language points in paragraph 4. (1)How was the neighborhood after the storm?(2)What did they do when they see the mess?8Themainideaofthepassage: Storms are not always bad. It brought people closer together. People should help each other
