We use “not as/so as to say that people or things are not the same in some ways.(Ss look through the example sentences on P 35 quickly)Step 2 Learn about “asas” and “not as/so as” in detail1. 表示甲、乙双方在性质、程度、特征等方面相同时，用“as + adj./adv. 原级+ as”结构，意为“和一样”。如：This film is as interesting as that one.这部电影和那部电影一样有趣。2. 表示甲在某方面不如乙时，用“not as/so + adj./adv. 原级+ as”结构，意为“在某方面不如”。如： This film isnt as interesting as that one.这部电影没有那部电影有趣。注意：1) as.as表示同级比较，使用时要注意第一个as为副词，第二个as为连词。 2) “not as/soas”和adj./adv.的比较级可进行转换。如：This film isnt as interesting as that one.= This film is more boring than that one.= That film is more interesting than this one.Step 3 Practise 1.
