Teaching Procedures:Step 1.Greetings and lead-in.Greet the class and show a clockT: Whats this in English? Who can tell me?S: Its a clock.T: Yes, you are right. What can it do?S: It can tell us times. Today well learn how to ask and say times. Now lets learn Unit2 What time do you go to school?Step 2.Study-aims Show study-aims to the class. Step3.Revision Lets count Ask students to take turns count some of the numbers from 1 to 60.Step4. Teach the new words.1. Ask students to open books to P120. Look at the new words on P7 and listen to the tapes .2. Ask students to read after the tapes.3. Ask several students to read.4. Ask two students to write the new words on the blackboard.5. Check the answers.Step 4 Pre-class.Show some pictures about the new words.Ask students to match the pictures with a word. Then explain the important language points.Step 5. Learn to ask and say times in English.Three ways to express the time 1. 点钟数 + 分钟数 eg. 6:15 six fifteen 7:29 seven twenty-nine2.分钟数 + past + 点钟数 6: 15 a quarter past six7: 28 twenty-eight past seven8: 30 half past eight 3.差的分钟数 + to +下一点钟数 (分钟数超过30分)eg: 5: 45 a quarter to six9: 39 twenty-one to ten First, Ask students to learn the Language points and discuss with their partners. Key Points “What time.”意为“什么时候”,用于提问具体的时间点,回答时可直接用表示时间的短语,也可用完整的句子。When既可以询问时间点也可以询问时间段。如:1) -What time do you go to bed? -At eight. 2) -When is your birthday? time作“时候,时刻”讲,常用于询问时间:What time is it? 相当于Whats the time? 现在几点了?其回答为:Its +时刻。 具体的时间前面应加介词 at。如:- What time does he get up?- He gets up at six oclock. 。 Ask students to learn them by themselves. Then explain the important language points.Step8. Practice.1.用所给单词的适当形式填空1) Tom usually (go) to school by bike. 2)What time do you brush (tooth) ? 2. 写出同义句 3)What time is it ? 4) What time do you go to school? 3.用适当的介词填空 5)Mr Li usually goes to work eight.Step8.
