Period three 乌鲁木齐市第92中学 何蕾艳【教材分析】本堂课是八年级(下)Unit 7 Section A 的第三课时,是一节阅读课。语篇围绕攀登珠穆朗玛峰展开,学习相关词汇,并复习形容词和副词的比较级和最高级。通过完成各项阅读任务,训练学生快速阅读抓关键词总结段落大意的能力,能够以表格的形式整理文章内容,并利用它复述课文。在了解登山知识的同时,学生能体会登山者勇于探索、不畏艰险的拼搏精神。【学生分析】我所执教的班级是随机抽取的八年级(7)班,共有学生36人。通过课前接触发现,学生虽已经有一定的基础知识和听说能力,能够读懂简单的文章。但部分学生的基础仍比较薄弱,口语能力差,不具备接受全英语教学的能力。但学生对地理知识很感兴趣,并且已经掌握了一些介绍地理知识的词汇。针对学生的这些特点,我将阅读难度由填写句子改成单词或短语,通过独立完成和小组讨论相结合,降低阅读难度;把单独回答问题改成全班集体作答,让自信的孩子来带动想说而又不敢出声的学生,让他们从活动中获取学习的成就感,逐步建立起学生对英语学习的自信心。【教学设计】一、Teaching Aims1. Warming -up 2 1. Organize students to prepare for the class.2. Say something to encourage students to be confident and arouse their interests in learning.T: I heard that your geography is very good. Pre-reading 101. Show pictures of Qomolangma about its backgrounds to present and learn new words and phrases. Have Ss try to fill in the blanks or say the phrases by themselves. Learn words about location. ( run along, southeastern) Learn words about weather condition. ( heavy storms, thick snow and clouds, freezing weather conditions, hard to take in air, the forces of nature) Learn more words. ( in the face of difficulties, challenge themselves, never give up, achieve their dreams, succeed)2. Show the new words again. Read and have Ss repeat. Pay attention to the difficult words. ( southeastern, thick, freezing, conditions, challenge, achieve, achievement, succeed ) Check whether the Ss can read these words correctly if necessary.3. Give Ss 2 minutes to remember the new words. Then play a game. Flash each word and Ss say it quickly.4. Congratulate Ss that they have taken the first step toward the top of the mountain.
