2011.12.18口语1.你朋友next semster要上一个很难的math class,他很紧张，问你有没有什么建议给他2.你要话一大笔钱买一个东西，你是会找朋友借钱还是自己攒够钱再买？3.一个学生提议要把campus dining hall移到Outdoor去因为可以解决crowded的问题还可以享受lawn上的好天气男生说我against it,这只是一个temporary的problem-因为campus最近的另外一个dining hall在renovating所以才crowded，等几个星期过去装修好了就不会crowded了-很多人在草地上kick soccer ball还Play frisbee. 男生幽默的说：“你在草地上吃饭，说不定一个soccer ball会踢到你的沙拉里。（我听到这就笑了）”4.讲distraction display动物们会把predator吸引走，来保护自己的幼仔。for example, 什么Morning dove（读音是这样）Morning doves build there nests on the ground, so they are more exposed and vulnerable to large predators. 像狐狸。如果adult dove看到狐狸就会立马做出反应，它会飞开自己的巢，装作自己的wing是broken的，让狐狸以为自己是一个easy victim.其实不是。adult dove把狐狸吸引到很远的地方后，自己再突然逃脱，它Nest里的Young dove就安全了（貌似这个distraction display在TPO的听力里出现过。）5.man的problem是自己要写一个paper所以要看一本Mystery Novel。但是学校的bookstore关门了。有两个solution-第一个，男生说自己打了很多电话去找这本书，在一家店找到了，但是要take him couple of hours to get there.而且男生可能会Miss自己的一些课-第二个，男生说他去年也读过一本mystery novel但是他不喜欢这本书，而且他没有理解透6.讲planning的drawbacks-plan excessively, too detailedexample: professor去年做了一个很详细的daily plan,安排好她什么时候该备课，写essay，锻炼 etc. 但是她没办法完成，所以觉得很frustrated-有很多干扰，人们会把事情想简单example: professor说自己以前答应过一个朋友帮他看paper, 她本来以外一个周末就可以搞定，但是其实take more time than she expected。她还有去上网查相关的资料，因为她不熟悉这个topic.2011.12.11第一题你的朋友要搬家，你怎么characterize一个好的邻居。第二题父母要不要参与子女的职业选择过程。第三题是letter认为construction应该在暑假进行。因为首先inconvenient在校园中，走啊什么的。二是假期没有干扰条件好，可以completed。Conversation里很支持，女生说她要drive到campus，就会没有parking spots。会耽误上课。甚至她的professor也是。平时还会有个snow啊什么的，假期天气也好。第四题是emotional intelligence。就讲recognize自己的情绪，然后知道是怎么cause的。听力的例子就是他女儿和friend回来看电影，两个人有争执。Daughter就很upset，然后她分析原因其实不是因为看电影的事儿upset，其实是因为她忧虑她的新工作。就和friend道歉，她的friend还安慰了她。第五题很崩溃，我没太听懂第二个solution，是语音留言吗?反正就是女生要和同学去看电影，同学还没来，这个电影她下节课要讨论。给同学打电话也没信儿。男生就建议她先去，她说也可以，她同学可以找时间再去，但是她们最近都很忙。第二个我就知道是voice什么的。第六题是讲动物的地下活动的，有两个好处。第一是躲避极端温度，第二个是避免被天敌捉住还是好捉住别人来着，反正就是不容易被发现什么的2011.11.26口语：task1： 【机经貌似有】beneficial的change。我记得很多机经都有这题，可能稍微有点不同，但是大意差不多。如果不是，那么我悲壮地误解了。!TDT 没事重考吧task2：【机经上有】。问你事情是刚布置马上做还是快deadline了才做task3：【机经上有】。是学校的生物院要搞学习小组的。为了提高学习方法和认识同学。女孩不爽，说每个人都有自己的学习方法比如她喜欢用小卡片记东西;而且认识新同学的话，对新生可能有用，但是她们平时都在lab和课上那么多机会见面认识了，要学习小组有毛用。task4：【机经有】什么adjustable group size。例子讲狒狒 banboon?夜晚一大堆聚在一起防狮子;白天分开找东西吃，没听错吗?它们吃花?task5： 男孩本来在school book store兼职，可是back 伤了。两个选择：1，还在book store，但是做casher收钱。2， 去干别的，比如去学校cefeteria刷碗。在book store吧，时间冲突，早上他要去物理学习小组，因为这个学习小组让他的物理进步很大，他不能不去。在餐厅刷碗吧，时间很自由，但是不在book store 他买text book 就木有折扣了。(MD我记下来但是没说完啊!记那么多有毛用啊，没说完啊!)【还有，这个我当时愣了一下，以为是女的给意见，谁知那男的自问自答自己全讲完了!你自己都知道权衡还纠结毛】task6：【机经上有】 两种不同的社会的团结方式：大家都一样，大家分工合作，互相依赖。2011.11.19口语：第一题 讨论如何解决城市交通拥挤的问题。what do you think we should do to decrease the usage of car or other vehicle and solve the traffic problems?第二题 问动物保护应该是政府出钱 还是私人出钱。 Do do think goverment should spend funding to save the animals which on the age of extinction or only for private source?第三题 文章讨论学校戏剧演出因为经济问题 不在对学生打折 然后有个女的说不同意 原因1 本来看学校演出的就都是当地的居民 没有多少学生 所以提升票价不会有多少帮助， 然后第二是 哪怕打折的时候 很多学生都负担不起 不打折就更没人看了。The announcement is about start to next semester, students is going to pay the same amout of money when they go to concert, that means more discount providing. The women disagree with this idea. First reason she gives is that it would not helpful for the finacial problems since most people who go to the concert pay the regular price. For example, last time she went to the concert, only a few student there. The second reason is that most student expecially who is majoring in art cannot afford the price of concert. For example, the speakers wife teaches sinents in high school, when she tried to showing something( I forgot the name), students do not seem to care about that. Then his wife use the strategy by bring the cpoy of the moive which related to the subject, because she thinks that students love that movie and the main actor, as a result, student really payed more attention on that.第五题 说是一个女的选历史课 因为选的人太少就被cancel了 她想要么换一节别的课 但是怕不敢兴趣， 学不好 或者找那节课的老师 做独立教学， 但是她之前做过一次 虽然学到很多东西 但是作业太多了 影响学习。The womens problem is that she need to take one more history course to fulfill the requirement, and she also very interested in this course, but just a few student register this class so it will be canceled. The frist solution is she can chose another course, but none of other course is interested her, if she cannot take the course she like, she wont study well( detail, so improtant:). Your option.task 3:reading: a student suggest that school need to add more seats in theatre. 2 reasons: some students dont have seats. adding seats will have economic benifit for school.listening: woman dot agree. 1. seats are enough. 不充足只是在opening和last show 时，才存在。 2. 每天都放映也能赚钱。 增加座位所赚的钱需要花费时间来弥补增加座位的costtask 4.reading: internal competitionlistening: car comany。之前这个公司生产了一款卖的很好的车，且很赚钱。一个公司在那个车的基础上改进了一下stylish, 于是这款车买的人增加了。为了应对这个竞争，这家公司推出了更加stylish的车，虽然原来best-selling 的车卖的少了，但是新推出的车也赚钱。task 5 : 男生sign a course-American literature which is an discussion course. 但是人很多。解决方法： 一个是建立outclass discussion group. 二是drop in this semester, take this course next semester.task 6.: bony fish 躲避predator 的方法：一是及时发现predator。 一种什么鱼（单词记不住了）身上长有hair,能够发现他周围的天敌，然后迅速逃走二是能再水中keep still. hide in plants直到predator游走后再出来。2011.9.24口语一，是不是该在campus library建 cafe口语二，汽车是不是该进city centre口语三，学校要给freshman配tutor，女生表示赞同，一是不仅学course，也可以学如何考试和take notes，许多新生都不懂这些，入学后生活很困难；第二个是tutor有经验，可以帮忙选course ，选professor，选advicor口语四，familiarity principle，举例是拿个不规则shape，在deem light下（原文用词），给实验者看；第二次拿两个shape给实验者看，其中一个是之前看过的，另外一个是新的，大部分人都选择前者，即使他们说前者没见过。（我答得不好这题，但是听懂了）口语五，男生去monteal学法语完成自己的task，但是忘记办护照。解决方案1，其他方法完成作业。解决方案二，花150刀办护照口语六，青蛙在dry -climate中得feature，第一个是分泌一种类似fatty的东西，cover自己，保护自己；第二个是用器官保护，举例是一个叫bladder的东西，它可以storage the water（听力原文用词，我用hold替换），而且bladder很长，伸展性很好（原文用flexible，我用名词替换），可以吸收更多水分，在dry情况下释放出来，保护身体其他organ的正常运作2011.9.18一：有仨选项，问你选哪个admire others most：1.有体育技能 2.语言技能 3.艺术技能二：do you think high school students should take economic classes?三：学校准备把一些学生作品贴到dormitory的墙上，利用extra space，而且很多art work都没有利用。女生很同意，她说她们很多作品没有机会展示，都浪费啦。而且对所有人都很好，因为大家可以欣赏艺术。还有就是大家可以买这些画，替换posters四： autogenetic succession。就是某生态环境可能因为当地植物而改变，从而变得适合另一种生物成长而取代原先的植物。ex. pine tree喜欢dry and sunny地地方，在这些地方他们长得非常好，因此枝繁叶茂，最后长得跟森林似的，这地方就变阴了，而且它的针也使这个地方的土变wet了， 改变了当地 sun, dry soil，变得 wet, shady，而这刚好适合oak tree生长。五：男Mike：我死了我死了，我本来负责买礼物给某disscution group的人的，是一本书，结果忘了。俩方案 - 一，多付$25来加快，但是这些钱要自己付。二，make announcement，然后让那人下星期来领。六：公司广告*。为了迎合顾客需求并真正吸引，1. concept testing。给一群人说说自己的想法，比如牙膏，大众更喜欢广告侧重味道还是让牙白;2. coping testing。先做出2种vision，在电视上播放后调查群众响应,看观众更看重哪一个方面。2011.8.281 describe a type of music that you would not like listening to. 还是举个例子或者阐述理由之类的。2 好像是说有些学生喜欢聚在一起做事情，比如做作业讨论什么的，但是有些人喜欢自己做这些事。问你更倾向于哪一个，还是要理由的。3.阅读是一封来自professor给学生每人都发的一封邮件，关于下学期的教学策略。内容是：首先，要求每个人在最后完成assignments之后，会被教授叫到办公室进行one-on-one talk，谈一下这个学生的成绩，解释清楚为毛给这个成绩；另外，允许学生对他问他questions from classwork，包括当时在课堂上没有机会问老师的问题。听力，男的非常赞同（女的酱油）。理由是，第一，学生们经常碰到最后考试成绩低于自己期望值的情况，但是又很尴尬不能去问老师到底为毛这么低，这样教授提供一个解释，就让他们释然了；第二是，能够问老师更多问题当然是很好的，当时课堂基本就是听教授的lecture，没什么机会提问，这又是机会了。4 囧 突然忘了。想起来再补吧。5 一个女的，有麻烦了（男的打酱油，附和一下而已），她跟朋友约好要看一个play，但是她忘了就是今天晚上了。男的问为毛麻烦，她说她明天有个生物考试，她本来想今天晚上好好复习的，结果碰到要看play这件事情了（发现听力里面经常有这种傻缺，非到考试前一天才发现有麻烦）。她说或许可以带着复习资料（好像是这样，这里听的有点不清楚），但是这样影响社交sociality，不太好；又或许可以不去看play，好好用一晚上复习，但是她实在是想去看丫，很喜欢的。6 听力，教授讲了两种types of company growth：internal growth and external growth（就是内部和外部的区别）。internal的方式是reinvestment 给自己公司，比如换换设备什么的，改善环境，举例Wilson 公司，换了新电脑，工作更快，使得公司内部建设变好。external就是增加分公司之类的，increase the number of their location 好像是这样，还是举例Wilson，通过增加公司数目，扩大公司规模，同时名字也变成了Wilsons（复数）。2011.8.27Task1Describe a good study habit that is different from other students.Task 2对Teenage 来说play computer or video games is a waste of time.Task 3letter应该有自己museum.可以多opportunity欣赏好作品。让毕业学生赞助修那个人不同意说用downtown的museum很近，而且by bus 半小时就到了。学生证有优惠而且周一免费。毕业生主要赞助图书馆什么的，不太可能赞助这种不急着用的东西。Task 4说animal allocation的例子是说elephant seal因为食物充足，它们会花更多的时间在reproduction上Task 5女的说她很郁闷，因为她喜欢literature class的professor，但是 不喜欢代课的TA。TA 给她们上课的时候总是自己讲，她们都没机会discussion。女的说她看了一本特好的书，特有idea就是没机会讲。然后男的给她俩办法，第一个可以去找professor谈谈，一是说说不喜欢这个TA的讲课方式，另，看看能不能参加其他TA的课(一共三个TA)。女的不愿意，说怕professor把那个TA给fire了。第二个办法是cancel这个课，下学期在申请。女的说也不好，她都上了好长时间了，费了二年半的劲不想放弃。Task 6business classProfessor讲advertisement 的negative influence 对environment第一，wasting nature resources as trees.然后举了自己的例子，说她收到厨具公司的booklet广告，但是对于她来说一点用也没有，因为她住apartment不需要搞这玩意儿，然后说很多住在她小区的人都不需要。所以浪费资源第二，影响自然界的美观。说户外广告影响nature beauty。即使在美的风景，戳一个大广告牌子也不好看了。2011.8.21Task 1第一题：talk about something you wanted to do but never had time to do yet. And the woman thinks that it is cool. First, she can perform on the performance.Second, she can practice to be relax on a performance, e.x. talk to theaudience. The female student would like to participate playing guitar and singing. This kind of live music in this area cost a lot; compared to that, the coffee shop provids affordable live music experience.阅读 School is going to host music event at cafeteria (of coffee shop, not sure) on Friday evening. Student musician can come to perform at the event. Also there is no charge for students to come to watch the music live show.听力 the female student thinks it is a great idea. Because as a student musician, she is provided with an opportunity to practice performing in front of the public. She will practice how to be relaxed and how to talk to audience between each songs. The boy also agrees with the school decision, because students who enjoy watch live shows are able to come to the performance for free. He also mentioned that other music live shows hosted by bars/coffee shop outside of campus need to charge cover fees.Task 44。阅读：behavior perserance,就是说很多情况下人们相信什么事，即使过后知道这是不对的，但是还会继续做.听力：教授以自己经验告诉大家，小时候妈妈说如果不穿暖和了就不让出去.要不然会感冒，但是，长大后才知道是感冒病毒引起感冒，并不是温度，冬天感冒几率反而最小，虽然知道是错的，但是还是继续执行，而且还让他的孩子冬天出去时也要穿得暖暖的。第四题：阅读：关于 brief perservation,听力：教授举了自己小时候母亲让他穿厚夹克以防止感冒，等他长大后发现感冒是由于接触病毒引起的，冬天反而不容易感冒，但他依旧教育自己的孩子多穿厚夹克是为了预防感冒。belief perseverance有些人hold belief on available information, even though the information is false.阅读举例说妈妈告诉小孩天冷穿夹克保暖可以防感冒，可是小孩长大后知道感冒是因为病毒引起，可是他还是会对自己的孩子说天冷穿夹克，如果孩子问他为什么，他还是会说可以防感冒。Belief perseverance. believe is based on available information; even the information is proved to be wrong, people still hold the same belief. i.e. speaker was told by his mom that if he does not wear jacket, hat, and gloves in the winter and go outdoors, he would catch the cold. When he grew up, he understand that winter is least possible to catch cold because the cold virus, the reason for getting cold, is less in winter. However, he still told his son to wear jacket, hat, and gloves before going out of the house.阅读中是theory: once people hold on to what they believe, it is unlikely for them to change the beliefs even when they acknowledge the fact which can prove there are flaws in their beliefs.听力中的教授用个人经历来解释理论：When he was young, he was told to keep warm in winter because the cold weather will cause him get a cold. Later he acknowledged that cold was caused by virus instead of cold wind, plus it is easier to get a cold in the fall not winter. However, he still believe there is necessary for him to keep warm outdoors in the winter to keep away from catching a cold. He also tells his children to keep warm in the winter too.Task 5the woman has a problem that she planned to go to a ski class on Sundaynight, but her cousin telephoned her to visit and to have a dinner together.The mans suggestion: 1. ask her cousin if she can change her schedule; 2. (not sure) just attend a part of the ski class.女生想参加ski ship但是她的亲戚周六要来。男生建议她1.让她的亲戚改到周五来，但女生觉得这回让亲戚觉得不好2.让女生周日再来参加ski ship，但女生认为这会影响她返回的时间。男女生讨论周末学校的ski trip,女生说她很想去，但是cousin周六要来找她。男生给了两了suggestions，第一，让她cousin周五来，这样的话周六日可以去ski;第二，让女生只参加部分ski trip，周日自己开到山上。(问题问你的建议，当时彻底把自己的建议部分忘了.大家注意)女生说好像是周日还是周六有个trip，但是周末她的cousin要来和她一起吃饭，所以她在想如何可以既参加trip又能和兄弟姐妹一起吃饭。男生给意见，1可以让她姐妹改时间来，2可以自己开车(还是什么的，我实在没听明白)改天去trip。第5题 关于weekend安排的 女的想去 但要陪她的cousin 在周六因为好久没见了。 男的给出主意 周六出去玩周日陪cousin。女生的problem: she plans to go to the ski trip organized by ski club for the entire weekend. However, her cousin will come to town the same weekend and plan to have dinner with her on Saturday evening. She does not want to miss either of it.男生的两个solution: 1) talk to the cousin directly to see if they can reschedule the dinner plan to Friday evening, then she can have dinner with the cousin on Friday and go skiing on both Sat and Sun. But the woman is worried to offend her cousin by rescheduling with her.2) she can go to part of the trip. she can have diner with the cousin on Sat evening, and drive to the ski place on Sun.
