How often do you watch TV? I watch TV every day. Do you go shopping? No, I never go shopping.3) Grammar: Frequency words-always/ usually/ often/ sometimes/ hardly ever/ neverHow to answer “How often?”2. Ability goals:Listening ability/ reading ability/ speaking ability/cooperation ability3. Moral goals: 1) By learning this lesson, form the healthy living habits, do more exercise, use less Internet and watch less TV.2) Let students express their ideas and opinions bravely, know more about their family members and classmates weekend activities ,and how often they do these weekend activities. II. Teaching key and difficult points1. Key points:Know the differences among the six frequency words- always/ usually/ often/ sometimes/ hardly ever/ never2. Difficult points:1) Talk about all kinds of weekend activities and how often people do these activities.2) Once /twice/three timesIII . Greet the class.2. One minutes free talk, talk about your weekend activities. TWhat do you do on weekends? SI do homework/ watch TV/ play computer games/-2. Sum up the results of students.3. I think all of you have a busy weekend, do you want to know what I do on weekends. Ill show some photos for you, guess my weekend activities.T-What does Miss Li do on weekends? S-Help with housework/ watch TV /exercise/ read a book/ go shopping/ use the Internet/ go to the movies.Step 2. Presentation1. Present these sentences, let students find the rules.I always help with housework.I usually watch TV.I often read a book.I sometimes go shopping.I hardly ever go to the movies.I never go fishing.Rule1: 频率副词用于实义动词之前,用于Be动词/助动词/情态动词之后。Rule2: 频率副词表示频率由高到低如图所示。always (100%) usually(80%) often (30-50%) sometimes (20%) hardly ever(5%) never (0%)2. Look at the picture in1a. Discuss with your partners. Make a list of the weekend activities. Finish 1a. Let some Ss read out their activities.Step3. Listening 1b 1. Let a student read the words aloud. Make sure all the Ss know the meaning of the words. 2. Tell Ss to listen and write the letters from the picture above on the line below. 3. Play 1b for the first time. Ss listen and fill in the blanks. 4. Play 1b for the second time for the Ss to check the answers. Step 4. Pair work 1. Let two students read the sample conversation. And let Ss practice the conversation in pairs and make their own conversations.3. Let some Ss act out their conversations. Step 5. How often1. Let students discuss how to answer “How often?-How often do you go shopping/read a book/-?-Every day/ once a day /twice a week /three times a month/-.2. Sum up the rules: 基数词+ times +a+ day/ week/month/ yearStep6. Listening 2a/2b1. Work on 2a. Let Ss read the phrases in the chart. Tell Ss that Cheng Tao is taking about how often he does these activities. Play the recording for the first time. Ss listen and number the activities 1-5. Play the recording for the second time for the Ss to check the answers.2. Work on 2b: Tell Ss they will hear the recording again. This time, listen and match the activities in 2a with how often Cheng Tao does them. Ss listen and math the activities with the phrases. Check the answers.Step7. Groupwork 1. Divide Ss into 6 groups. Six students are in a group, one student is a reporter who interviews other students.eg. -Reporter: How often do you watch TV?-S1/S2/S3/S4/S5: I watch TV every day/-. -Reporter: Whats your favorite program?-S1/S2/S3/S4/S5: Animal world. -Reporter: How often do you watch it? -S1/S2/S3/S4/S5: Twice a week. 2. give each group a card.
