English Teaching Plan of Unit 5Why do you like pandas? by Tang LingTime: June 15th,2017Place: In the classroom with multi-functions.Teaching contents: Revision of Unit 5 This unit is about writing about animals .Maybe most students will be interested in the lesson because they know a little about animals.Teaching Goals:1. Knowledge goals:A: Revise key words about animals and some description words: zoo, animal, panda, tiger, elephant, lion, koala, giraffe, cat, pet, cute, lazy, smart, beautiful, scary, ugly, friendly, shy.B: Some other key words and expressions: kind of, Australia, South Africa, save, leg, flag, forget, get lost, place, water, danger, be in great danger, cut down, tree, kill-for, over Revise sentence patterns: Why do you like -?I like pandas/giraffes/ koalas/ elephants because they are kind of smart/cute/beautiful/shy Why dont you like-?I dont like tigers or lions because they are very scary/uglyWhere are they from/ Where do they come from?They are from-. / They come from-.2. Ability goals: Be able to write a short passage about animals likes and dislikes using the key words and the target language.3. Emotional goals:Be cooperative, be active to take part in any kind of activity to practice oral English, tell and describe animals. And show love to animals and try to do something to save animals.Teaching Important Points:The new words and sentence patterns mentioned above.Teaching Difficult Points: How to make the students use the key words and the target language correctly and freely.Teaching and Learning Methods: Communicative teaching method, Audio-visual teaching method.Teaching Aids: Multi-media CAI, the blackboard.Teaching Procedures: Step 1. Greetings. Step 2. Revision words (before the trip) Revise the key words in this unit by doing a guessing game and using mind-maps and make sure the students can say the animals in English. Have them write the words about animals on a piece of paper quickly to see if they can write them correctly. 动物园n._动物.n _老虎n. _大象n. _树袋熊.n_长颈鹿n._熊猫n. _狮子n. _奶牛n. _狗 n _猫n. _马n. _蛇n. _老鼠n. _Step3. Revision description words and sentences(before the trip) Revise the key phrases in this unit using pictures and make sure the students can say and remember them. I like pandas/giraffes/ koalas/ elephants because they are kind of smart/cute/beautiful/shy I dont like tigers or lions because they are very scary/ ugly. Have them write the description words on the piece of paper in two minutes. They eat leaves(叶子).Then have the students make more similar conversations by showing some other animals. Revision Grammar Exercises.
