The key word and sentence are“When”and“When do you do?”.This part aims at teaching students how to ask and answer the time of doing something.Teaching aims1, knowledge aim: Enable students grasp the new words, phrases: eat breakfast, play sports, do morning exercise.2, Ability aim: Students can use the words and sentences learned in their daily life, ask and answer the question”When do you do?”.3, Emotional aim: Develop their communication ability. Students analysis Having learned English about two and a half years, its not difficult for students to learn this part. Besides, those daily expression can easily be used in or outside class. Before class, students can be asked to make a schedule about their day.Teaching procedureWarming up: Play the English song “My weekend”, Students sing together.New phrases learning and reading: Show the pictures first, students guess the English expression one by one. Then present the key phrases:eat breakfast, play sports, do morning exercises,have.class, eat dinner.T: What does he do?S1: He eats somethings.S2: Its in the morning.T:So.He eats breakfast.OK, lets read together “eat breakfast”S: Eat breakfast.When VS What timeT: “When” is similar to “What time”in Chinese. But there are some differences between them in English.Show following sentences, and students find their differences.1,A:When do you go to school? B:At six oclock.2,A:When is your birthday? B: Its on June 1st.3,A: What time is it? B: Its eight oclock.4,A:What time do you go to school? B: At seven oclock.Then students present their opinions.Finally, conclude the differences:Ask specific time, such as: six oclock, seven oclock.Both when and what time can be used.Ask date, month and year, only when can be used.Ask the specific time on a certain day, only what time can be used.Sentence learning:According to the pictures and phrases learned, students try to make sentences.Present the sentence structure “When do you do ? ”and example:A:When do you do morning exercises?B: At 7 oclock.After three minutes, students share their sentences.Group work:Two students make conversations as following:S1: When do you eat breakfast?S2: At 7 oclock.Play a game:Dialogue solitaire by asking“when do you do?”and answer.Consolidation: Consolidate what they have learned this class by class-exercise.Teaching strategyThe words learning by pictures is a good way to know and remember their meanings.Besides,group work is good for students to learn form each other, and test whether they grasp the knowledge or not.
