Teaching design of Unit1Can you play the guitar?第四课时(1a-2c)一、 教材内容分析Ss have learned“Can you?Can he?”in the third period.In this period,Ss will learn some new words about instruments using the sentences“Can you ?Yes,I can/No,I cant” in1a.In the part of 1b,Ss will ask and answer questions about the instruments “Can you ?Yes,I can/No,I cant” Can sb do sth?Yes,sb can/No,sb cant.In the part of 2a, Ss will listen to a conversation about playing the instruments and then they will fill in the blanks in 2b.In the part of 2c, Ss will have chances to use the target language to express- Can you ?Yes,I can/No,I cant” . 二、教学目标:1知识目标:学习并能熟练运用本课所学的有关乐器的单词和短语,如drum、trumpet,、violin 、piano. play the guitar, play the trumpet, play the violin等。2能力目标:使学生能够结合所学新单词和短语使用目标语言Can you/he进行交流。3情感目标:通过对乐器的讨论,在熟练掌握所学单词与词组的基础上提高学生对乐器的兴趣并陶冶其情操。三、教学重点、难点1.掌握play the trumpetviolindrum piano guitar等乐器名称前用定冠词,理解情态动词can 的肯定、否定句,can的一般疑问句、特殊疑问句及肯定、否定回答,这是本节课的重点。2.难点:运用所学内容熟练交际,理解句子I cant sing or dance中or的用法。 四、教学方法本课的教学内容突出的语言功能是对能力的谈论。在教学中利用多媒体,设计不同的任务,采用Role-play的学习策略,Pairwork问答式的口语交际活动或小组活动来展开课堂教学,复习“询问和谈论能力”的目标语言并能灵活运用。五、教学过程:Step 1. Preparation (2 )a) Warm up:Use the computer to give the Ss a piece of classical piano music,just like罗密欧与朱丽叶。b) Teacher asks students some questions about the music:Do you know whats the name of the song?Do you like it?I like it,and I can sing the song.Can you sing the sing?Can you sing it well?c) Students answer teachers questions and give their own opinions just like this:Its 罗密欧与朱丽叶.We like it,too.We can sing.But we cant sing it well. 设计说明:该步骤主要是复习前一节课的重点。所以在此步骤上,多让几个学生回答,尤其是要多给中下程度的同学机会,这样既能调动他们的积极性,又能给教师一个比较全面的教学反馈,也同样为新课的引出做了铺垫。Step 2 Presentation (10)1、 New words(4 ):Use pictures and actions to introduce the new words . Just like this:T:show a picture of a guitar to the Ss.Then ask the Ss :Whats this ? Ss answer:Its a guitar.T:Can you play the guitar?Ss:Yes,I can/No,I cant.(play the guitar, play the trumpet, play the violin, play the drums, play the piano. 2、 Sentences(2 ):Use the structure:“-Can you/he/she/they play the guitar/piano/violin.-Yes, I/he/she/they can. No, I/he/she/they cant.”to practice the new words and the structure .3、Practice(3 ): T: OK, Now you know the names of the these instruments, I want to know if you can play the instruments. T: Can you play the piano? S: Yes, I can./No, I cant. T:Can you play the drums? S: . (then ask the students work in pairs) 4、Read one by one(1 ): 1) Teacher asks students to make conversations about the instruments:Eg:A:Can you play the guitar?B:Yes,I can/No,Icant.2) Then ask some students to act in front of the class.(As they work together,move around the room checking progress and answeringquestions as needed.) 设计说明:引导学生进行认知并熟练掌握新单词的活动,就所学的乐器名词互相询问和谈论能力,复习和巩固所学的新单词,并在此基础上复习前面内容里所学的知识,然后完成1b部分中的教学任务。Step 3 Practice(12) 1:Drills(2 ): a) Ask a good student to read the list of words to the class,then ask the other student to read after her.Use the picture in 1a to remind students what the words mean,if necessary.2:Listening practice(5 )b) Play the recoding for two times.Ask Students listen carfully and then fill in the blanks.c) Focus attention on the chart.Point out the words and phrases in the box on the left.Then say“Now look at 2b on page 62, listen again and fill in the chart with the words in the box. Lets see what Bill, Jennifer and Victor can do, and what they cant do. ”d) Check the answers. T:Can she dance?Ss:No,she cant.2分组:将学生分成若干组,每组选出一名组长,指导组长调查本组同学会与不会的活动,使用Can you?Can he/she? 等目标语言。 3汇报:各组组长向全班汇报调查结果,可派一名同学进行统计看哪一组兴趣爱好最广泛。Let Ss report like this: Yang Qiaoyun can play the guitar,but she cant dance. Can Yang Qiaoyun play the guitar? Yes,she can. Can she dance? No,she cant.(为了节约时间可以选择基数组上去填表并向全班及老师展示本组所调查的结果)这里需要提醒学生的是:and和or的 用法:肯定句中列举两者及以上,用and 连接,反之用or. Writing practice(4 ):运用上表提供的信息,写一篇作文。(字数不少于60字)此活动为小组活动,通过这个任务的实现,可引导学生复习、巩固所学的目标句型并做到熟练运用。 设计说明:本节课在学习了“Can you play the guitar”的基本句型上,应用Can sb do sth? Yes,sb can/No,sb can t句型,让学生在课堂会用学过的语言来解决跟现实生活贴近的问题,从而从英语中尝到学习英语的兴趣。Step5、Progress(7):(一)写出所听到的内容(5 )S1:Can Bill play the guitar?S2:Yes he can,but he cant sing.S1:Can Anna sing?S2: Yes she can.And she can play the drums,too.
