Distancedisplays

Theodometerregistersthetotaldistancetravelledbythecar.

Thetriprecorder(trip)showsthedistancetravelledsincethetriprecorderwaslastreset.Thefinal

digitshowsdistancesof100m.

Outsidetemperaturedisplay

Iftheoutsidetemperaturefallsbelow+4°C(+39°F),thedisplayalsoshowsasnowflakesymbol(ice

warning).Thissymbolflashesandthenremainsconstantlylituntiltheoutsidetemperaturerises

above+6°C(+43°F)⇒.

Whenthevehicleisstationaryortravellingatverylowspeeds,thetemperaturedisplayedmaybe

slightlyhigherthantheactualoutsidetemperatureasaresultoftheheatradiatedfromtheengine.

Themeasuringrangeliesbetween-40℃(-40°F)and+50℃(+122°F).

Selectorleverpositions

Thechosenselectorleverpositionisindicatedbyluminousletteringontheselectorlever.In

positionDtheselectedgearandthecurrentpositionareshownintheinstrumentclusterdisplay.In

position(Tiptronic)onlytheselectedgearisshown⇒Changinggear.

Gear-changeindicator(manualgearbox)

Whilethevehicleisinmotion,theinstrumentclustermayshowwhichgearshouldbeselectedto

reducefuelconsumption⇒Changinggear.

Beltstatusdisplayfortherearseats

Oncetheignitionhasbeenswitchedon,thedrivercanseethebeltstatusdisplayintheinstrument

clusterdisplayandthereforecantellwhetherornottherearpassengershavefastenedtheirseat

Start/stopsystemstatusdisplay

Theinstrumentclusterdisplayshowsinformationaboutthecurrentstatus⇒Pull-awayassist

Resettingtheserviceintervaldisplay

IftheservicewasnotperformedbyaVolkswagendealership,thedisplaycanberesetinthe

instrumentclusterasfollows:

Switchofftheignition.

Pressandholdthe

button.

Restarttheignition.

Releasethe

buttonandpressitagainbrieflywithinapproximately10seconds.

Donotresettheserviceintervaldisplaybetweenserviceintervalsotherwiseincorrectdatamaybeshown.

Theservicemessagewillgooutafterafewsecondsoncetheengineisrunningorwhenthebuttoninthewindscreenwiperlevel⇒Fig.12①ispressed.

Theaveragefuelconsumptionwillbeshowninl/100kmor,invehicleswithgasengines,inkg/100kmafteradistanceofapproximately100metreshasbeentravelled.Thedisplaywillshowdashesuntilthispoint.Thedisplayedvalueswillbeupdatedapproximatelyevery5seconds.
