4、tationmediascanbeselectedtocometoJinan,suchasairplane,train,andcoach.JinanisafamousancientcitywithalonghistorylocatedinthedownstreamYellowRiver,anditisnamedof“herocapitalcityofQiLwellas“famouscityrighttothesea“historically.Jinarisalsoaplacewherefamouslitterateursgathertogether,ithasformedQuanchengcu
5、lturetakingtheLongshanculture,thebigShunculture,thefamousspringcultureandthefamouslitterateurcultureasmaincharacteristicsincealongtime.Additionally,glorioushistoryofcityconstruction,richculturearcheology,andnumeroushistoriclocationsmakeJinanafamoushistoricalandculturalcityindomesticandforeign.Jinanp
6、ossessesaspecialgeographicalfeature,whichisamixtureofmountains,springs,lakes,andrivers.Itiscalledthe"SpringCity"ofChinasincethebubblingwatersof72famousspringsdistributedinitsoldcityzone.Theancientsdescribdthisbeautifulcityas“everyfamilyhasspringanddoortodoorhasweepingwillow“Accordingtothed

8、anfoMountain,BaotuSpring,andDamingLake.QianfoMountainstandsinthesouthofthecityproperandwascalledMountLishanintheoldtimes.From581to600A.C.,BuddhismwasintrendandthousandsofstoneBuddhistsculptureswereengravedonthemountain.Fromthenon,ittookthenameofQianfoMountain.Mainpeakofthemountainis280mabovesealevel
9、.Therearemanybigstones,temples,pavilions,andterracesdottedonthemountain.BaotuSpringisthebestoneamongthe72famousspringsinJinan,whichisregardedasfirstspringunderheaven.Thespringwaterspurtsoutinthreeprongs,withwaterdropletsfallingaround,justlikethreepilesofsnow,whichisveryspectacular.Thespringwaterisve
10、rysweet,optimumformakingtea,whichislimpidincolor,richinaroma.DamingLake,whereallspringsflowtogether,isoneofthebiggestlakesinJinan.ItislocatedatthecenterofJinan'surIbiatSareatury,theItaliantraveler,MarkPolomarveledhereas"whatabeautifullandscapeoflakeandrocks."Inthecenterofthelakeperches
11、theLixiaPavilion,uponwhichhangsthenamescrollwrittenbyafamousancientemperorQianlong.Besides,therearemanyoriginal,novelty,andenergyefficiencymodernarchitectureslocatedinJinan,suchasShandongProvincialMuseumandJinanOlympicsSportsCenter.SouthfromJinanabout70kilometersisTai'anCity.TaishanMountainwhich
12、iswellknownintheworldislocatedinitsnorth.TaishanMountain,atypicalrepresentativeoftheChinesefamoustraditionalmountains,isamountainwithalonghistoryandaspecialhistoricstatus.In1982,TaishanMountainwasupintothelistofStatekeyscenicspotsandwasformallylistedinthedirectoryof"WorldNaturalandCulturalHerit
13、age"in1987.Itbecomesapreciousheritageofhumanbeing.ThetotalareaoftheTaishanMountainis426squarekilometerswithacircumferenceof80kilometers.TaishanMountainhas72majesticpeaks,magnificentwaterfalls,centuries-oldpinesandcypressesandfascinatingrocks.ThemainpeakofTaishanMountainistheJadeEmperorPeak,whic
14、hrising1,545metersabovesealevel.TheTaishanMountainisanearlybirthplaceofChina'sancientcivilizationandtheareaaroundwasoneoftheancientChina'spolitical,economicandculturalcenters,itisthesymbolofspiritualcultureofChinaandtheuniqueheritageoftheworld.ThissuperiorconditionhelpsTaishanMountaingainthe
15、firstpositionamongtheFiveFamousMountainsinChina.ScenicspotsofTaishanMountainincludeLongtanReservoir,ZhongtianGate,FiveDoctorPine,DuansongHill,18Turns,SouthGatetoHeaven,BixiaTemple,ZhangluTerrace,SunWatchingPeak,MoonWatchingPeak.ThefourwondersoftheTaishanMountainareSunRisefromtheEast,GoldenBeltAlongt
16、heYellowRiver,BeautifulSunsetandtheSeaofClouds.FromTai'anCitygosouthabout60kilometersisChufu,thehometownofConfuciuswhoisthefirstoneoftengreatesthistoricalculturalcelebritiesintheworld.LocatedinChufu,whichincludestheMansion,TempleandCemeteryofConfucius,enjoysaworldwidefameasatraditionalChinesecul
17、turalsite.In1994,theywerelistedasworldculturalheritagesites.TheMansionofConfuciusisthelivingquartersofthefirstgrandsonofConfucius.Withanareaof160,000squaremeters,themansionhasninecourtyardswith463rooms.Themansionstoresmorethan9,000volumesoffilesfrom1534to1948andgreatquantitiesofrareandpreciouscultur
18、alandhistoricalrelics.TheTempleofConfuciusservedasaplaceforworshippingConfuciusinvariousdynasties.Itcoversanareaof218,000squaremetersandis1,120metersinlength.Thereareninecourtyardsand466rooms.DachengHallisthemainhallwhereConfuciuswasworshipped.TheCemeteryofConfuciusistheConfuciusfamilycemetery.Ittakesup1.998
