7、l)while 与.同时,在期间,趁着”,从句动作是延续性的,侧重主句动 作与从句相比照。Eg. 1.While he was reading, his wife was cooking.They rushed in while we were discussing.Strike the iron while it is hot.趁热打铁。总结:while引导的从句常用进行时态。(2)when除了 “当时候”讲,还可译为“这时,那时”,相当于 and at this/that time,强调动作的突然性常用句式有:be about to do. when.be doing.when.译为“正要

We were about to leave when it began to rain.He was about to tell me the secret when someone patted him on the shoulder.Finish the exercises on Page 54.Explain the usge of since, till and until on Page 55, and ask Ss to fininsh the exercises.(l)until和till的用法1)用于肯定句中,主句常用延续性动词I waited till/u

9、ntil he arrived.2)否认式notuntil直到才until后可接表时间的短语或从句。He didn go home until he finished his work/midnight.(2)since常用句式It is /has been +一段时间+since+从句(谓语一般过去时)1)从句谓语是延续性动词,那么译为“自从不做某事已经多长时间了”It is /has been two years since he smoked.他已有两年不抽烟了。2)从句谓语是非延续性动词,那么译为“自从做某事已经多长时间了” 他去世已有两年了。It is /has been two y
