try every way to attract students to the teaching activities and make the students experience that english-learning is a kind of interest. that will help to stimulate the enthusiasm and motivation of 初高中学生学习英语时的障碍,研究激发学生的学习兴趣。在研究过程中由实际出现的一些状况和问题而进行讨论,一步一步的对英语学习的实践指导的重要性进行阐述。得出运用口语的必要性和重要性。三、研究方法:阐述法和辩证法四、预期结果:改变以往教学以教师为中心,为现在的以学生为中心,教师的最终任务是使学生养成英语语言习惯,引导他们走向令人兴奋的、自由交际王国。指导教师审定意见: 指导评分: 签名:_ _2010_ 年_6月_17_日 1.introduction i have been a teacher for eight years since i came to feng ping middle school in the country side .its a great honor for me to become an english teacher. i teach the senventh grade students this year .in todays english language teaching,the students in english testing are extremely troublesome especially in countryside because they didnt study english at all in primary school. as a result,the most important thing is to improve their interests in english learning.but how? 2. problem and problem analysisenglish teaching is not a piece of easy work. especially, many students are losing their interest and showing negative attitude towards english learning. teachers are always complaining that it is hard to improve students scores and the students are too lazy to learn the words, recite the dialogues and finish the exercises. to some degree, the effective way to make the english teaching and learning go smoothly is to improve students interest in english learning. einstein once said “interest is the best teacher.” interest is a kind of direct motivation to push students studies. that means interest plays an important part in english learning. as to the teacher, it is worth-while to improve students interest. it can make the students concentrateonwhat they are learningandthink actively. english learning is quite different from other subjects learning. it is a foreign language and there is not a good environment for them to learn. relatively speaking, english learning is rather dull. especially learning so many new words by heart is a hard nut to crack. as a result, alot of students are afraid of it. at present most students are unwilling or even afraid to learn it.if the teachers cant arouse and train their learning interest or improve students enthusiasm of participating in the english learning of ones own accord, teachers cant truly accomplish the fixed teaching task,and also cant improve the students english standard strongly. teachers should start with training students learning interest so as to make students well. so it is teachers duty to motivate them to learn actively.3. possible solutions teachers should spare no efforts to arouse the students interest. as a teacher in grade seven, when i taught, i take the following measures in my teaching:(1) use various leading-in (2) respect students personality and make harmonious teacher-student relationship.(3) get well ready for teaching in the classroom before class,and lead into rich and colorful teaching methods.(4) adhere to organizing english teaching.4. project objective this project is in order to train the students interest in learning english and help the students challenge the various english test .it is very important for them to study it well in the changing word.5. project hypothesis assume that the students in the learning process,to follow my lead,that stimulate their interest in english learning,using a variety of methods and measures to strengthen the guidance of learning strategies for students learning and other methods. students can achieve in terms of learning effectively improve,i will continue to use these approaches to teaching.6. project rationale according to national english curriculum on junior high school,students should understand the requirements of the discourse on familiar topics and a short set in the daily communication scenarios to understand the dialogue and stories ,teachers can understand about a familiar topic presentation and participate in discussions.students only have a certain amount confidence in english communication activities, the development of the integrated use of english language ability.to this end ,as a teacher,i have been exploring the requirements to adapt to modern teaching methods and means of teaching to arouse their interest in leaning english.as we all know,interest is the best teacher.if the students are interest in english,they will be glad to learn it and they will also be good at it. so the key of english teaching is how to train students interest of learning english.7.project desigh7.1 subjectsthis term i studied if the interest of learning english is suitable for the tests.for this research ,i chose the two classes of my students as subjects, one as the experimental group, the other as the control group.the two groups were selected by drawing lots.throughout this project,the experimental group has succeed in tests while the control group went on with its routine instruction.7.2 time and procedurethe above project lasted about seven months from the beginning of september to the end of march.7.3 ways for data collection during the research two ways were adopted, namely questionnaire and test.to gather information for the design of the research and to test if the research is effective,two questionnaires will be issued, one at the beginning of the research,the other at the end. two tests will be included(one as the pretest,the other as the post test for comparison) to test the co_efficiency between motivation and school recording.7.4 material the small blackboard,color chalk, pictures,candies or gifts for praise, a tape recorder, a renai english book,ppt and some other teaching aids.7.5 activities a large number of interesting activities will benefit the students learning.8. project implementation8.1 use various leading in a specially good beginning is very important in order to have an english class with distinguishing feature. successful leading-in can overawe others by displaying strength and fascinate.whats more,it can also train students interest and arouse their strong curiosity and thirst for knowledge. when i taught, i specially paid attention to making use of the first ten minutes in an english class.it can create a good warming up, such as sing a song,chant,follow me,and let us guessa list of knowledgeable games to go over what we have learned before, activate the class atmosphere and increase the interest.for example,when i had the lessonhappy birthday in renai english,i first asked the students to sing a number songone little,two little,three little.because of many numbers in this section.and then told the students thattoday is somebodys birthday.we wanted to celebrate his/her birthday.what should we say to him/her? and what should we send to him/her? at that time,the class was very active,the students began to discuss happily and enjoyed themselves.thus i began to teach knowledge points.8.1.1 use pictures.use cartoons,illustrations in every passages and objects concerned to passages to start listening & speaking.and then present the theme of the text.of course for junior middle school in grade seven students pictures are the simplest and plainest teaching method.we can make up pictures related to the new words or sentences,and then ask the students to have a talk according to the pictures,using the newly learned words and sentences.for example,when i taught the different fruits,i prepared many cards with apple,banana,orange,pear,peach,cherry on each card.i taught them how to pronounce them and then asked them to follow me without explaining chinese meaning.giving them five minutes and then i began to askwhats this/that in english? what are these/those in englishto present the new knowledge points in unit 1 topic 3 of renai english.they could answeredits a/an.orthey are.after that,i took out a bag full of many kinds of fruits and told them to guesswhatwith their eyes closed.they were so glad to guess because i always gave them praises. in this way,the students can easily remember these words by heart. 8.1.2 questions.speaking is the direct bridge for us teachers and the students to communicate with each other.of course, i always asked some easy questions which was easy but related to the text when i taught.the students could answer the questions with yesorno and then i asked a bit difficult questions and asked the students to answer them in easy english.it could train the students oral english and also train their courage little by little.i always used different kinds of ways to encourage the students whatever they said. and sometimes i gave them some stickersor some beautiful starsas a kind of encouraging.for example,when i taught unit 1 topic 2 of renai english in grade seven i introduced i am *,who are you?. the students followed mei am * one by one after my introduction in order to each students could open his/her mouth.and then i began to ask are you *? in a rising intonation.they could nearly answered this simple question with yes or no according to my intonation.i said good,wonderful,greatetc with or a smile with my two thumb raised.i always changed my ways of praising so as to arouse their interests.8.1.3 have talksi often asked students to write a speech based on the new text.they should combine the speech with the contents of the text.if the contents become more and more,the students should make use of them band combine them with the real life.i often designed or organized many neither too easy nor too difficult dialogues for the students to make use of english as much as they could.the students would increase their confidence,the interest in english and joyfulness.ask me to learn was changed into i ask to learn english. by me.for example,when two good friends meet,they will greet to each other:_ how are you?_ im fine. thank you.and how are you?/and you?_ i am fine,too.8.1.4 introduce background.in language teaching,we should not only pass on knowledge and train learners competence of utilizing language,but also enhance teaching of relative cultural background knowledge.in teaching of aural comprehension,i find many students complain that much time has been used in listening,but little achievement has been acquired.in order to improve competence of listening comprehension,some students specially buy tape recorders for listening and spend quite a few hours every day on it,but once they meet new materials,still.they fail to understand.what is the reason? on the one hand.maybe some students english is very poor and they havent grasped enough vocabularies,clear grammar or correct pronunciation,or maybe the material is rather difficult,etc.on the other hand,an important reason is that they are unfamiliar with cultural background of the usa and england.of course,on the other hand if the text is one part of a certain story,then the students will be interested in the storys background,main contents or the brief account of the authors life.nowadays,there are many stories in the textbook.if we teachers can find some background about the story and use some easily understood english words to tell the students,it is certain that the students will be interested in the background and the story in the textbook.8.1.5 sing childrens songs or chant.we all know that songs or chant are popular forms for us to improve the students enthusiasm of learning english.as the time goes by,the students grasp more and more vocabulary.every student has different ability to remember the words.at this time,some students perhaps will feel a little difficult.we teachers should use many kinds of ways to help the students to remember the new words.for example,chidrens song,chant or rhyme etc.when i taught the new words of numbers in unit 1 topic 2 and 3 of renai english in grade seven,i taught them the songdoe ray meof the sound of music.and when i taught them the new words of body such as head,shoulders,legs,feet,etc,i also taught them to sing a song.and when i taught them the vowel lettersaa,eeiioouu,i told them to do a class activitylets chant,like this:a,a,a.go and play.b,b,b.come with me.i,i,i.dont be shy.o,o,o.let us go.u,u,u.you look cute.also i often made the similar new words different by rhyme,for example,pen and pencil,hand and head,dog and door.it was very interesting and fun .whats more,it could help the students to remember the new words, too.8.2 respect students personality and make a harmonious teacher-student relationship. appendix a: the timetable of the
