Show students a piece of music about Christmas2. Make Ss guess what the music is about Step : Pre-reading1. Introduce the background knowledge:the origin of Christmas:Christmas is the day to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ2. Make Ss familiar with some Christmas vocabulary:(1) divide Ss into four groups(2) show Ss 12 pictures related to Christmas(3) ask Ss to speak out which words these pictures stand for group by groupGroup 1 Group 2 Group 3 Group 4 balloons presents snowmen Christmas tree Christmas stockings Christmas carols Father Christmas Christmas cakes Christmas pudding turkey Christmas hat Christmas candies Step : Reading:1.
