Actually, I concern about a great many things, like faith, honesty, love, knowledge, climate, pollution, etc. But my top concern is today, I concern about what I should do today and how can I do it well. However, when growing up, Ive gradually realized that we neednt worry about yesterday and tomorrow.No matter what youve got yesterday, mistakes and cares, honors and achievements, pains and happiness. Just remember they all have passed forever beyond our control. We cannot call it back like the sand in the hourglass.Tomorrow is vague, ambiguous and unknown. No one can predict the possible adversities, burdens, promise, performance, joy or surprise. However, the sun of tomorrow will rise, either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds. It may be the fairest thing in the world. Its with little help to worry anything in the future. So just let it be.Then it leaves only Today. Anyone can fight in the battles of just one day. We can figure it out easily that it is not the experience of Today that drives men madit is regret or bitterness for something which happened yesterday and the dread of what tomorrow may bring. We can do anything we want just in today, never live in yesterday or tomorrow. We all have dreams, but we can only fight for it today. We all have shortcomings, but we can only correct them today. All famous, successful people and the nature tell us that we can be anything if we seize today. On this point, I dont think there will be an exception. Yeah, God creates the world in seven days, who can say they are not seven Todays?Well the history is the past todays, and the futures based on todays. Build your dreams? Correct your mistakes? Why we regret or put off what you can do today until tomorrow? If you want, just do it today. We really concern about future very much, even in our dream. But how to get it? Regarding 2012 as top concern will let us live each day as if we should die tomorrow.Future Is My Top ConcernAs a sophomore student, who is preparing to graduate in less than two years, I still doubt that what kind of future I will have when I step into the society. As a daughter whose parents lie awake every night and wonder how they will repay the mortgage and save enough for their childs college education, I still question what kind of future I will offer them as a better return for their selfless sacrifices. As a new member of the Party of the Peoples Republic of China, I still wonder what kind of future I could create and build for my beloved motherland. I attend local schools, got into college, seems like everything stays still, no change at all. Life is just plain and crystal clear. However, during my stay in Houston last fall as an exchange student, which I called it the period of exercising changes, some trifles did change me and raised the idea of change to my top concern.Change enables me to have paradigm shift. I can still visualize the scene from the flashback. On my orientation day to the University of Houston, when my friend Robert and I walked through aisles on campus, I was startled that people come across just greet and smile to me. One lady did and I was curious. Why? Have I been famous in the school already? Or she just has a crush on me?” “No!” Robert cried out, “We often smile to strangers as a way to acknowledge the presence of others, showing friend lines sand wishes. You should try a girl.” I was a worrier then and a strong flow of hesitation just popped out and I was worrying whether I should adapt to changes or remain still. Heraclites said, “All is flux, nothing stays still.” So after the struggle of hesitation, I made a change and smiled to a girl confronted. The change I made frees me from a worrier constrained by dogmas to a warrior.Charles Darwin said, “Its the one most responsive to change that survives.” It is said that Chinese seldom smile to strangers. However, when I walked down our campus and tried to apply the idea of change by exchanging smiles with strangers, I was glad to see changes and positive responses. Under the circumstances of globalization and intercontinental communications, small changes will surely be pioneers to free us from cultural barriers.Without changes, human beings wont be revitalized from bitterness, scientists will lose their jobs and reforms wont be formed. When I tell my parents and friends about all this, they are inspired by me. I stand by the window, stretch my arms and appreciate the nature.The sunshine gets through the window secretly so that I feel energetic and have no intention to sleep, what comes to me is: the birds are singing so happily in the tree, children are playing games, women washing clothes by the small stream, the soft smoke coming out from the chimney and fly to the sky.So beautiful a scene, So harmonious a world!However, recently, the crash of boats between China and Japan has made a huge wave around the world. It has been involved in lots of problems of economic, politics, culture and military.What if the people between the two countries couldnt get alone with each other any more?What if the trade couldnt go smoothly as usual?What if the military action will be taken?What if demonstrations are on the street?Why not keep calm and think of the solution; why not forgive and understand each other; why not contribute to a harmonious world.Today, many people still suffer from the racial discrimination, belief and convictions difference and struggles against civil rights fights! Without hesitation, I believe harmony is my top concern.Harmony is not only my top concern, but also your top concern; it should be our top concern.Concern of harmony is to us what sunshine is to the morning, wish the sunshine brightens every corner of the world.Share the same sunshine, share the same concern of harmony!Cultivating Creativity is My Top ConcernGood morning, ladies and gentlemen. Today my topic is cultivating creativity is my top concern. I would like begin with my personal experience. As a sophomore student, presentation appears as our daily routine. Day after day, the same pattern repeated. In order to cause our audiences interest, my friend and I determined to convert the form. Later, we interviewed several students, recorded a short video and show our presentation as a TV program. At last, we harvested a plenty of claps and left an impressive memory to our audience. Experienced this, I tasted fruitful fruit that the creativity brings to me. Thus, cultivating creativity is my top concern.Here is a common phenomenon happened every year: where there is a recruitment, there is an open-ended question. I remembered a question asked like this: three switches are installed in a room, while the lights the switches controlled are in another room. How can the applicant identify the match of the light and switch if he is allowed to enter the room with lights only once? According to traditional practice, it is an impossible task. However, how about we alter our thinking aspect? In fact, we can turn on two of the lights and turn off one of them five minutes later. Then, go to another room to check the temperature. Actually, to a certain degree, the answer decides whether the applicant can get the job or not. Hence, try to cultivate creativity as much as possible must be regarded as our top concern. Meanwhile, creativity, which means go another way is also an effective measure for us to save both time and money. As far as I know, the ordinary methods do not always function economically and practically. In this situation, what we should do is to put forward creative ideas to simplify issues. Besides, choosing an extraordinary way to achieve our goal is a brave attempt, which offers us excitement. Personally speaking, the procedure of each attempt is just like a record of our mind, which can resonate us with a feeling of enjoyment and achievement in our advanced years. Try to imagine, how gratified we will be once we succeed on the condition that we solve the issue through our own creative efforts!To be creative men, we should rethink whether the solutions we have got are the best. To be creative men, we should rehearse the situation before we get started. To be creative men, we should adopt others constructive suggestion.As college students, make creativity to be our top concern can not only help us when we are in college, but also benefit us when we step into the society. Therefore, cultivating creativity is my top concern not temporary but in perpetuity.Environment is my top concernWe live in the world every day. We eat food, drink water, wear clothes, watch TV, use computers and so on. We are producing waste every moment.Generally speaking, there are four sorts of waste. They are material waste, organic waste, inorganic waste and poisonous & harmful waste. Now, we are going to talk about each sort of waste one by one.Material waste: it means the waste of substance or things from which something else can be made. For example, people throw away the used metal products and buy a new one, so the old metal waste accumulates. At last, they become waste. For example, when people finish reading newspaper, the paper will become waste. When the glass is broken, it also becomes waste. Nobody wants to use a broken window or drink with a broken glass or wear a pair of broken glasses. Once it is broken, it becomes waste. The rate of using plastics is increasing day by day. People use plastic bags because they are convenient. When they get home, they throw the plastics way, paying no attention to the environment. The more convenience plastics brings to us, the more plastic waste is produced. This is called “white pollution” as most plastics are white. Some of our products we use every day are made of rubber, just like the types and the bottom part of our shoes. Its true that rubber plays an important role in our life. However, it also brings us some trouble when it has been used for a long time and becomes old. The old types become waste because it cant break down by nature. This is really a big problem.Organic waste: it refers to waste from living things, including waste from animals, plants and people. Some parts of vegetables are thrown away as waste because they dont taste good. In the past, people cooked their food using burning coal, so there left the burned coal, which is useless, like the thrown vegetables. All this sorts of waste contain organism, so it is called organic waste.Actually, we also have inorganic waste, the opposite to organic waste, including building waste, broken pottery and china, and cinder.The last part is harmful and poisonous waste, such as used batteries, electrical apparatus and medical supplies. Computers and TV sets are one part of electrical apparatus. You see, the old electrical apparatus can set off some dangerous rays and make the soil harder, even damage the under ground water. Mobile phones are as dangerous as computers and TV sets. As we know, X-rays can be used to examine patients, but the X-rays machines are dangerous when they are thrown away without any treatment. They cant be used to treat the sick, but they still can give off rays. For the normal people, they can be dangerous. So, we must think about this problem.As waste has four sorts, we can sort them into each sort that they belong to. Its convenient to treat them after they are sorted. Then we can deal with them sort by sort. We have thought out some methods like storing them in order to change them into plant food, or burning them in a huge stove and use the heat to make electricity. For the first way, the change rate is much too low and it may pollute the under ground water. For the second one, of course its wonderful if its easy to be tried out. But to build such a huge stove will cost too much. Not a good method. Now you see, treating waste is not an easy job.From what has been discussed above, we can do something to our home-the earth. We should make full use of things. At the same time, wed better reduce its harmful effect as much as possible.We can do from the basic of waste. Th
