1. A Complaint against Soaring Housing PricesOver the past years, Chinas housing market has witnessed an extremely high increase in prices. Although the central government has composed a series of regulations to control, all of them have proved to be ineffective at all. Chinas property market is entering into a bubble stage, where wealthy people take a property speculation and own more than one house, while residents who earn an average salary cannot afford one.Among the people who complain about the soaring housing prices are young university graduates who have just worked for a few years and havent saved enough for down payment. As university students, we are likely to be among them in a few years. Therefore, Id like to analyze this phenomenon. The majority of the young university graduates, who have just started to live on their own in a city, do not earn much and their salary can only cover their basic needs. They consume a lot and do not amass enough savings for their houses. They have complained due to prohibitively high prices and they will never be able to afford a house through their own efforts. However, after years of work, they would have to get married. Nowadays in China, as most young university graduates are the only child of a family, those parents who have already owned their houses would like to help their son or daughter purchase a property in the city where they work. Thus, the burden of buying a house or an apartment passes to the older generation. The soaring housing prices have definitely become a tough problem not only in the economy but also in the society. Chinese government should take effective measures to solve this challenging problem. Lowering housing prices by new regulations is a solution that we could figure out. But it would lead to many unexpected consequences, such as higher unemployment rate and lower wealth effect. Levying taxes on property, which is given a try in Shanghai and Chongqing, is a way to cool the market. But how long will it take to make sense and what result will that bring? Lets wait and see!2. Make the Internet Clean for YouthsIt is believed that 21st century is the era of the Internet. Nowadays, the Internet has become a significant part of our life that we nearly cannot live without it for even one day. Because Internet has become the main source of knowledge, entertainment and communicative channel for the youths, it has a significant influence on the youths.Since primary school, I have seen some of my classmates who used to do well in their studies become so addicted to the online games and online chatting that they quit classes and stayed in the net bars day and night. They just cannot stop themselves from playing the computer games and surfing the Internet. However, excessive access to inappropriate online contents, such as unfettered exposure to violence and porn will do harm to their psychological health. Compared with adults, teenagers have a strong inclination to accept new things and weak resistance against harmful stuff. In addition, any improper or undue Internet use is likely to distract their concentration from their studies. We have known so many cases where the youths imitate the violent or pornographic behaviors on the Internet and even violate the laws and end up in prison. In addition, Because of the lack of sufficient ability to discern right from wrong, the amplified negative information on the Net can easily mislead the youths, sway them, twist their perception and possibly push them toward extremes. The youths are the future of our country, and they will be the main workforce of the development of our country. Therefore more attention should be paid to them by the government and the society. Concerned efforts should be made to reduce and ultimately eliminate Net pornography and violence. Effective measures should be taken to help the countrys teenagers cultivate the correct outlook toward the Internet, which plays an important role in their psychological and mental development. Internet should become a platform for the youths to learn and fulfill themselves in a healthy environment.3. In Harmony with NatureUnder the guidance of Scientific Outlook on Development, what we are striving to do is to build a harmonious society, among which one of the most important point is to live in harmony with the nature.Im not sure how many people have noticed the giant change in the ecological environment, but I do. I clearly remember, when I was 6 years old, the marvelous scenery in my hometown. What I can saw was a swarm of fish swam in the crystal water, and the fields were filled with a scent of green grass and fresh air. However, last time when I return to my hometown again, a wholly different scene was presented to my eyes. What a discouraging change. A large number of newly emerging factories sprang up like mushrooms, resulting in the discharge of the polluted gas. Besides, the rising sea level, the warmness of our earth, all these had indicated that our human beings have failed to live harmony with the innocent nature. There is a saying that once we human beings over destroyed the nature, the nature will take revenge on us. Thus, its high time we took efforts from all aspects to tackle with the urgent natural conditions, to assure the peaceful relations between us and the nature, otherwise, our future generation would suffer much from what we did to the nature. Here, in my esteem, we could commence this course from three aspects. Firstly, try to imbue the people with the concept of being environmental, make them of being known the severe result of destroying the natures balance. Secondly, the government should rule out and carry out the regulations, to utilize the laws to limit illegal deeds to the nature. Thirdly, as a proportion on the same earth, we should devote more to the environment-protection, for instance, to plant more trees, to supervise the surroundings, to bear in mind the strong belief of being ecological to the environment.Lastly, to make a complement, only if each portion in the world all take tiny effort to the natural protection cause, can we live a harmonious, peaceful, green life rejoicingly. Hence, lets hold hands together, to strive for the great cause, to create a charming world for the bright future.4. The Online Medias Social Responsibilities With the development of the economy and high-technology, we are gradually living in an internet time which has been changing mens life in online medias social responsibilities daily affairs. It seems that people can not live without internet. So having a nice atmosphere becomes more and more important. Thats the online medias social responsibilities to make the internet clear and clean. The online media need to shoulder social responsibilities for the benefit of clearing a good web environment and like the three dimensional world around us, its vulnerable to pollution and other types of degradation. Once the internet is polluted, a great amount of work has to be done to recover it. It is the media that decide what to publish on the web, so they should be responsible for their behaviors, When it comes to online games, the media should avoid attracting teens to play games that are not suitable for them or classify games into several categories; when it comes to shopping, media should set a safe atmosphere for clients so that they can buy what they want without worrying about the safety of their account or whether the goods they buy are fake. When it comes to searching information, the online media should strengthen the supervision of information they provide for customers and make sure the operation of the websites is proper. To sum up, the media should take full responsibility for what they have done. They should be sober-minded when confronting with the illegal interests. As public citizens, the peace online-environment-protection course needs us to take part in. As long as they all adhere to the intangible rules into their inner spirits, can we innovate a brand new internet world, can we interact with the world without any hesitations of being pondering whether it would be a trap or not.5. On Intellectual Property Protection Nowadays, intellectual property being infringed seems normal. The internet makes the infringement more convenient than before. We just click the website, everything will come on the screen. Besides coping on the Internet ,there are lots of illegal publications, plays and CDs. Infringement, on one hand, discourage the holders activeness, on the other hand, it has great influences on the holders, and the publicators. According to the constitution, citizens intellectual property is protected by the law. So once our intellectual property has been infringed, we can report to the relevant departments and protect our lawful rights through legal means. At the same time, the relevant departments should take tough measures to prevent infringements from happening. Personally, we must resist buying illegal publications, plays, and CDs. Thus, we can truly protect citizens lawful rights, and make sure our intellectual property be protected. 6. My View on Overseas TripsLadies and Gentlemen, good afternoon! I am greatly honored to be here, giving you a speech. The title of my topic is: “My View on Overseas Trips” To weather the global economic slowdown, travel agencies have begun to offer discounts and promote new package tours in the hope of luring more customers. Travelers going abroad during this period are likely to enjoy considerable discounts in recent years. The number of travelers will certainly double this year. “Whats your purpose on this trip, pleasure or business?” This is the question you shall always be asked as you make your first step abroad. Certainly, different people go on overseas trips for different reasons, some are businessmen who intend to expand business, some are students who want to study abroad and broaden their horizon by sharing the ideas with others, some are officials who aim to learn advanced management skills. Globalization offers more opportunities for us to go to foreign countries and see more of the world. Whats more, it provides us with a more convenient access to letting us know whats going on around the globe today and what miracles we are making today. We can learn from developed countries, and traveling abroad shed a light upon something that one cannot learn at home. Its by learning from each other that we gain deep insight into how this world could run and spin so fast. It sounds like overseas trips are perfect and fabulous without any flaws. Well, do not be cheated by the mist. Some officials try to finance their overseas trips at the cost of government expenditures, proclaiming that they travel abroad for vehicles procurement and maintenance. When this kind of news was released, I was totally shocked. How can the government report this without transparency? However, life gets much easier when the government decides to make known to the public all the expenses it has paid for its civil servants whose aim is to serve the people heart and soul. Going on overseas trips will certainly make a difference to your life and to your outlook. It will make you realize that the world is too small, and there is still a lot to do to make the world a better place to live in.Thats all of my speech, thank you!7. Job Opportunities are Lacked or Not?For college students who regard study as their top concern, we probably have all heard about the saying: Graduating from school means losing your job. Indeed, since the global financial crisis started in 2008, a large number of workers have been laid off so as to keep the company afloat in the fiercely competitive market. As a consequence of downturn economy, its rather disappointing to find out that job opportunities are critically lacked.According to a survey conducted by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the number of college graduates reached a new peak of 6.3 million this year, which is 190,000 more than the previous year. Due to the Expanding Enrollment Policy since 1999, more and more young people have access to getting into college, and the increasing higher education rate is much more than that of talent demand brought about by economy development. With the excessive supply of college graduates and reducing demand of employers, seeking a suitable job can be a real problem for college graduates.A few days ago, a job fair was held in our school and I served there as a volunteer. What I saw was numerous graduates eager for a job opportunity rush to the scene. But only those extremely lucky can get an offer, because the number of job opportunities provided is so limited. Most graduates would have to go back to their dormitories and improve their resume, waiting for next chance.Another evidence of job opportunity shortage is that lots of people choose to study further and get masters degree. In this way, they can keep staying at school and postpone time for a job. Maybe after several years, the economy situation will take a turn for the better so that more job opportunities are created.Data suggests that although most college graduates have already given up their high expectations but just want to settle down and support themselves, therere still some people remaining jobless. So, faced with such a severe job situation, our government should really take responsibility for easing the problem and create more jobs, then we dont have to worry about lack of job opportunities when we graduate.8. Dressing up and personal charmNowadays, young people are getting crazy about the word fashion. They pay much attention to their appearance so as to present the best personal image in public. For example, students want to leave a good impression on the teachers for higher grades; workers longing for promotion will have to catch the eye of employers. They believe that dressing up makes them more charming, therefore, much time and energy is devoted to make them look good. That may explain why dressing up is becoming increasingly popular in our society. However, the true meaning of personal charm does not necessarily mean good looks, but our inner beauty counts more. People are more likely to wear exquisite clothes with famous brand names and gorgeous accessories to show their taste and status. But this kind of impression is just skin-deep and can not last for long. From my point of view, personal charm consists of three aspects apart from good appearance. First, one has to be well-educated and well- read. We all know knowledge is power, and reading helps broaden our horizon. Second, the quality of kindness, sincerity and sympathy is essential on the way to obtain personal charm. Only if youre ready to help others and show deep love for the people around you, youll get respect in return. Finally, you may as well have some sense of leadership and responsibility, which enables you to handle a complicated situation confidently. So we get to know that personal charm doesnt have much relationship with dressing up. Although dressing up does add to personal charm, it still remains dispensable. Shabby clothes can never cover up your inner beauty; neither will a good appearance be equal to a broad mind. Just think of Mother Teresa, she doesnt have a good appearance or beautiful clothes. Speaking of what she has done, we couldnt deny that she is full of personal charm and deserves respect worldwide. In conclusion, personal charm involves more about our inner beauty than just appearance. Dressing up will certainly give you a good appearance, but it is only inner beauty that forms eternal personal charm.9.A Teacher-centered Class or a Student-Centered ClassAs a part -time teacher in a training school, a dilemma always confused me: Whether my class should be teacher-centered or student-centered? However, it wasnt until one of my students talked frankly to me that I decided my class should be student-centered, otherwise my students would lose interests in it.In the training school, I teach a class of grade 6. In order to get a high score in the middle school entrance exam, we are under great pressure. At the first month, I taught them in a teacher-centered way in which I had been taught. And I was confident it would work so that they could get high scores, assuming that I should be popular with them. However, to my disappointment, one day one student stood up during the class, shouting “So boring! We dont like the way: no game, no fun!” It shocked me. I suddenly realized what a failure I was and its time to change. So I organize my class in the student-centered way;Instead of being a controller of my class, I choose to a guider to help my students study:Instead of the traditional way, I plan my class in an interactive way:Instead of pouring only the knowledge, I let my students involved in more activities:Instead of being a preacher, I am happier to be their friend, their” Big Sister”Instead of criticizing them, I encourage them more. Now the situation is completely changed. My students like not only my class but also me. They learn fast and efficiently. “Actions speak louder than words.” As things turn out, I prefer a student-centered class to a teacher-centered one, which is the same with the students. The age is different, so we should keep pace with it. 10. On Overseas StudyAn “overseas study boom” has emerged recently as RMB has appreciated. During last winter holiday, overseas study was the hottest topic for me because three of my friends would study abroad: one went to Italy, one to Spain and another to England. I envied them dramatically for its my dream to study abroad. Therefore, I am for overseas study if financially
