What do you do ?Good morning my dear judges:My name is Xin-xin Wang .I come from WENJIA PRIMARY SCHOOL. Im glad to interpret my teaching design here.The teaching content is PRIMARY ENGLISH Book 6 Lesson 5What do you do ?.By studying this lesson, the students can ask and answer about jobs. And they can think about their ideals, and must study hard to make their ideals come true.Now, I will explain the lesson from the following aspects:Firstly, lets focus on the analysis of teaching content.This lesson includes 2 parts. In section 1, it mainly deals with these key words: farmer / policeman/ interesting. And in section 2, it deals with the sentences: What do you do? / Where do you work? / Is your work interesting?Secondly, it is about the students.Our students are in Grade Five. They are active and curious, interested in new things.After learning English for 3 years, they have some Basic English background knowledge. So the teacher should attach importance to the communication with them, providing them the chances of using language.They have learnt English for 3 years, and have already known “I am a” It is no difficult for them to understand and use the language” I like it very much.”So, I set the following aims:The first one is language knowledge .By the end of the lesson , the students will be able to read、recognize, and use these words: farmer、policeman、interesting, and these sentences : What do you do? Where do you work? Is your work interesting?The second one is language skills. By the end of this lesson, the students will understand the words and the sentences, and get useful information from this lesson through attentive listening and reading. By the end of this lesson, the students are able to talk about some jobs.The students abilities of listening and speaking will be developed.The third one is emotional aim .In this lesson , the emotional aim is able to talk about ideal jobs and study hard to make it come true to help the students cultivate and foster their abilities of working in groups and to help the students to recognize and identify the differences between Chinese and English cultures on jobs.Fourthly, it talks about teaching methods. In this lesson, I will mainly use “TaskBased Teaching Method”. That is to say, I will let the students in real situation to finish a task by making a survey to help the students to get a better understanding of the key structure of the dialogue.Next, lets focus on the teaching procedures.I will finish the lesson in 5 steps.Step 1 Warming upIt will cost about 5 minutes.At first, play the song of “What do you do”in activity 3“Lets sing”. Then look at the pictures review the learnt words “doctor 、teacher” for the next step.Step 2 PresentationIt will cost about 15 minutes.At first , show the cards to learn the new words :”interesting、policeman”. With the help of the cards, to help the students to recognize the different jobs and their working place, to stimulate the students interest of this lesson.While the teacher playing the tape, let the students to listen and understand. Then let them to close their books, play the tape again and let them to repeat until they are able to read the every sentence skillfully.Step 3 Practice It will cost about 10 minutes.It including 1 mechanical activity to help students to recognize and read the new words and sentences, and 2 activities in the meaningful situations to make students use the new words with sentence structures in act. To help students use the language in a real situation.Step 4 Free SpaceIn this step, I will give students a free space to show their abilities. I will let the students to practice and act it out. Then do a game “What missing”. Show some cards about jobs and find out which word missing.“TaskBased Teaching Method” are used here. The activity is to develop students ability of communication, and also, their ability of cooperation will be well developed.Step 5 Surveys and HomeworkIn this step, I will make a survey.1、 What does your mother do?2、 What does your father do?3、 What are you going to be?The purpose of this to stimulate students interests of learning English and wide their knowledge about communication across cultures.
