He is an intelligent and innovative thinker. At elementary school, Jobs tested very well. After he was enrolled in high school, he became so interested in the computer that he spent most his free time at Hewlett-Packard. It was the place that he befriended computer club guru Steve Wozniak, a brilliant computer engineer. After high school, Jobs enrolled at Reed College in Portland, but he dropped out of college after six months and spent the next 18 months concentrating on creative classes. Because of these classes, Jobs developed his love of typography. Later, Jobs took a position as a video game designer in 1974. In 1976, when Jobs was just 21, he and Wozniak started Apple Computers. They improved the technology and made the machines smaller, cheaper, and accessible to consumers. In 1980, Apple Computer became a publically traded company with a market value of $1.2 billion on the very first day of trading. However, the next several products from Apple suffered significant design flaws resulting in consumer disappointment. Meanwhile, IBM suddenly surpassed Apple sales. believing Jobs was hurting Apple, the executives decided to expel him. In 1985, Jobs resigned from Apple to register a new hardware and software company called NeXT. Whats more, he managed it successfully. Due to his success, Apple eventually bought the company by $429 million in 1997. At the same year, Jobs returned to his post as Apples CEO. Later , Jobs was elected chairman of Apples board of directors and held that title until his Death. Even though we lose at last, we will not leave a pity by ourselves and regret making the decision. So, do not let the noise of others opinions drown out your own inner voice, and just follow your heart and intuition to live a life as you want when you are young.4.“Innovation has no limits. The only limit is your imagination. Its time for you to begin thinking out of the box.” Certainly, we all need innovation in our life and career, because innovation make our life never bored but fill of vitality as well as help us achieve success in our career. My commentsIn my opinion, the biggest success of the book is that it describes both the advantages and disadvantages of Steve Jobs. That makes the book become a real reflection of Steve Jobs.In retrospect, Mr. Jobs was a man ahead of his time during his first stint at Apple. Computers early years were dominated by technical types. But his emphasis on design and ease of use gave him the edge later on. Elegance, simplicity and an understanding of other fields came to matter in a world in which computers are fashion items, carried by everyone, that can do almost anything. “Technology alone is not enough,” said Mr. Jobs at the end of his speech introducing the iPad, in January 2010. “Its technology married with liberal arts, married with humanities, that yields the results that make our hearts sing.” It was an unusual statement for the head of a technology firm, but it was vintage Steve Jobs.His interdisciplinary approach was backed up by an obsessive attention to detail.
