And is to compare the three data communication systems, respectively the internet, wide area networks and local area networks. Secondly, this report is to identify how these three systems will benefit the ICT and how these three systems will fit ICT managers needs. At last, this report is to identify and assess the two new innovations in information communication technology and how these two new innovations will relate to the needs of ICT and ICT managers.2. Main body2.1 Comparison of three data communication systems1. Local Area Network (LAN)The local area network is a network which connects computers within a single office and building. For example, a group of computers associated device that share a common communication line or wireless link. LAN serves within a geographic area like an office or a building. LAN could reduce the ICTs cost by sharing the resources of a single process such as the printer. LAN could also make the staffs of ICT share easier share files. Through LAN system, ICT could permit easier and more quickly communication with staff.With using the LAN system, the manager of ICT could do work easily. LAN network could save office room storage of large amount of data for ICT. LAN makes the work of manager more efficient by saving time because electric copies can be sent to users. Additionally, LAN allows manager manage information easier within the business. And due to email, communication between managers will be easier.2. The InternetAs a network of networks, the internet links computers to computers which share the same internet protocol (i.e. TCP/IP). The internet makes it possible for people to access to the information which is stored in documents or files on another computer.The internet has a great deal of information, while the difficulty often lies in finding the exact information that you need. Many website pages also involve some graphics which could require a long time to download. The time which will be taken is determined by whether Broadband is used, the type of ISDN line, as well as the speed of modem.3. Wide Area Network (WAN)Wide area network is a group of computers and devices covered large geographical areas. The organizations could be based in different parts of a city, a different country or any where in the world. Internet is a good example. WAN connects many LANs in general.WAN could overcome the communication far away form over distance and make ICT trade with a virtual manner. Accessing remotely, ICT could saving time in communicate with staff.As the management of ICTs manager, they could transfer large volumes of information between branches. Video conferencing could saves time for meeting between managers and the individuals position could be limited when access to information. LAN permits ICT to share a great amount of resources, e.g. fax. Moreover, LAN also allows the users to share their files. Last but not least, employees in the LAN can also easily and quickly communicate with their colleagues. Meanwhile, managers can also save a lot of time, because the electronic copies can be conveniently sent to the users through LAN, while the communication between employees and managers will also be much faster owing to the email.In addition, WAN can also overcome the problems of ICT in the communication over long distance. Secondly, WAN also permits ICT to trade in the virtual form. Last but not least, WAN can save a lot of time for the managers in their communication with employees, for managers and employees can remotely access. Thanks to WAN, managers can easily transfer a great deal of information among the branches while sharing the information safely. Compared with the traditional approaches to communicate, internet can significantly lower the cost. In the case that the information needs being sent to an organisation which locates in another part of the country or the world, then the cost to send an email with an attached file will be much cheaper than the postal charges. Meanwhile, it is of great importance for the ICT Company to retain sufficient crash flow, so as to accelerate the development in future. Meanwhile, the speed at which the information is received will be a lot faster when the computer is used, while the different time zones between countries will no longer act as a barrier to smooth and rapid communication. Wi-fi is faster than dial up connections. It is easy and cheap to install. Except make ICT Company build network with low cost, it is great benefit ICT Company when the company expands or change layouts. Additionally, Wi-fi make the manage work flexible manner. BroadbandBroadband is a high-bandwidth internet connection that transfers or downloads information 40 times faster than a standard telephone and modem. It uses ADSL (Asymetric digital subscriber line).Broad band can convenient ICT Company as it is cheaper to run, thus it is could save cost for ICT Company. By saving times, Broadband could make ICTs business be more efficient. The greatest benefit is that Broadband could be on 24 hours, thus, ICT Company could do business in any time of the day if necessary.
