The Lion KingActorYoung Simba（小辛巴）.Adult Simba（成年辛巴）.Pumbaa（彭彭）.Timon（丁满）.Nala（娜娜）.Scar（刀疤）.Aside:In the Pride Lands of Africa, animals celebrate the birth of future king Simba, son of King Mufasa and Queen Sarabi.Mufasas younger brother, Scar, is jealous（嫉妒） of Simba, because Simba replaces Scar as heir to the throne（宝座，王位）.A few months later, as Simba grows into a curious lion cub, Scar is allied（结盟的） with the hyenas（土狼） to kill Mufasa and Simba. But they are both unaware of their intentions.Finally, Mufasa is killed by Scar. Whats more, Scar tricks Simba into thinking that Mufasas death is his fault and advises him to run away forever.As Simba leaves, Scar orders the hyenas to kill Simba, but Simba escapes.Simba collapses（坍塌，瓦解，垮掉，倒下） in a desert for exhaustion, luckily Timon and Pumbaa save Simba.Scene I: Hakuna MatataAside: Pumbaa, Timon, and Simba near a pool of water and oasis(绿洲）. Simba has been laid near the water. Timon splashes（泼，溅水） some water in Simbas face. Simba stirs.（微动）Timon: You okay, kid?Simba: I guess so.Pumbaa: You nearly died.Timon: I saved you.Pumbaa: (Snorts at Timon)Timon: Well, uh, Pumbaa helped. A little.Simba: (Dully) Thanks for your help.Aside: Simba heads off quietly back out towards the desert.Timon: Hey, where you going?Simba: Nowhere.Timon: (Watching Simba, talking to Pumbaa) Gee. He looks blue.Pumbaa: Id say brownish-gold.Timon: No, no, no, no. I mean hes depressed.Pumbaa: Oh. (Pumbaa trots up to Simba)Pumbaa: Hey kid, whats eatin ya?Timon: Nothing; hes at the top of the food chain! Ahhhhhhha ha haaa! The food cha-haain! (Pumbaa and Simba stare at him silently) Ha ha hum. ahem. (Realizing his joke flopped) So, where you from.?Simba: Who cares? I cant go back.Timon: Ahh. Youre an outcast! Thats great, so are we.Pumbaa: Whatcha do, kid?Simba: Something terrible. But I dont wanna talk about it.Timon: Good. We dont wanna hear about it.Pumbaa: (To Timon) Come on, Timon. Anything we can do?Simba: Not unless you can change the past.Pumbaa: You know, kid, in times like this my buddy Timon here says, You got to put your behind in your past.Timon: (Waving arms) No. No. No.Pumbaa: I mean.Timon: Amateur. Simba looks into the camera, surprised.)(Simba watches with growing interest as Timon hoists Pumbaa into a vine loop above his head, where he begins swinging.)Pumbaa and Timon:Hakuna Matata!What a wonderful phraseHakuna Matata!Aint no passing crazeSimba: (After becoming more and more enthusiastic, he finally joins in singing, a spotlight falling on him.) It means no worries. For the rest of your days.Timon: (Not singing, doing a vaudeville knee-slide up to Simba) Yeah, sing it, kid!Simba and Timon: Its our problem-free .Pumbaa: (Landing next to them, with a flatulent sound). philosophy.All three: Hakuna Matata!Aside:Timon and Pumbaa then take Simba into live with them in the jungle（丛林）, and Simba lives a carefree life under the motto（箴言） hakuna matata (no worries).Years later, Simba, now a young adult, rescues Timon and Pumbaa from a hungry lioness, who turns out to be Nala.The two reconcile（和解） and fall in love. Nala tries to get Simba to come back home. Scene II: PersuasionSimba: Isnt this a great place?Nala: It is beautiful. But I dont understand something. Youve been alive all this time. Why didnt you come back to Pride Rock?Simba: Well, I just needed to. get out on my own. Live my own life. And I did. And its great. (He sounds almost as if trying to convince himself as well as Nala.)Nala: (Voice catching, as though barely under control) Weve really needed you at home.Simba: (Quieter) No one needs me.Nala: Yes, we do! Youre the king.Simba: Nala, weve been through this. Im not the king. Scar is.Nala: Simba, he let the hyenas take over the Pride Lands.Simba: What?Nala: Everythings destroyed. Theres no food. No water. Simba, if you dont do something soon, everyone will starve.Simba: I cant go back.Nala: (Louder) Why?Simba: You wouldnt understand.Nala: What wouldnt I understand?Simba: (Hastily) No, no, no. It doesnt matter. Hakuna Matata.Nala: (Confused) What?Simba: Hakuna Matata. Its something I learned out here. Look, sometimes bad things happen.Nala: Simba!Simba: (Continuing, irritated) .And theres nothing you can do about it. So why worry?(Simba starts away from Nala. Nala trots back up to him)Nala: Because its your responsibility!Simba: Well, what about you? You left.Nala: I left to find help! And I found you. Dont you understand? You dont even know what Ive been through!Nala: I would if you would just tell me!Simba: Forget it!Nala: Fine!Aside:Still feeling guilty over his fathers death, Simba walks off, leaving Nala disappointed and angry.With the help of wise mandrill（大狒狒） Rafiki, Simba realizes that he can no longer run from his past and goes back home. Nala, Timon, and Pumbaa join him, and agree to help him fight.At the Pride Lands, Simba confronts Scar.Scene : ConfrontationScar: (Confused) Simba.? Simba! Im a little surprised to see you, alive.Simba: Give me one good reason why I shouldnt rip you apart.Scar: (Backing into a wall, apologetic) Oh, Simba, you must understand. The pressures of ruling a kingdom.Simba: Are no longer yours. Step down, Scar.Scar: Oh, oh, ye- Well, I would, heh, naturally, heh- however, there is one little problem. You see them?Aside: pointing to the horde of hyenas on the rocks aboveThey think Im king. Aside: Nala appears with the rest of the lionesses.Nala: Well, we dont. Simba is the rightful king.Simba: The choice is yours, Scar. Either step down or fight.Scar: Oh, must it all end in violence? Id hate to be responsible for the death of a family member. Wouldnt you agree, Simba?Simba: Thats not gonna work, Scar. Ive put it behind me.Scar: Eh, but what about your faithful subjects? Have they put it behind them?Nala: Simba, what is he talking about?Scar: (Delighted) Ahh, so you havent told them your little secret. Well, Simba, nows your chance to tell them. Tell them who is responsible for Mufasas death!Aside: Scars last line causes the lionesses to start. All are concentrating on Simba.Simba: (Steeling himself, then taking a step forward) I am.Scar: You see! He admits it! Murderer!Aside: Lightning crashes behind Scars head to punctuate the line.Simba: No. It was an accident.(Scar walks around and around Simba as he accuses him; very nicely done animated rotation.)Scar: If it werent for you, Mufasa would still be alive. Its your fault hes dead; do you deny it?Simba: No.Scar: (Severely) Then. youre. guilty.Simba: No. Im not a murderer.Scar: Oh, Simba, youre in trouble again. But this time, Daddy isnt here to save you. And now everyone knows why!Aside: Scar has been backing Simba up the length of Pride Rock. After his last sentence, Simba slips over the edge and is clinging to the ledge by his forepaws. Lightning strikes below, igniting a fire.Nala: Simba!(Scar sits back and pretends to think.)Scar: Now this looks familiar. Hmm. Where have I seen this before? Let me think. Hmmm. hmmm. Oh yes, I remember. This is just the way your father looked before he died. (Scar grabs Simba with his claws as he did Mufasa. He whispers into Simbas ear.)And heres my little secret: I killed Mufasa.Aside: In one giant leap he lunges up and pins Scar on his back. Scar is caught completely by surprise and is understandably very nervous and shaken.Simba: NoooooOOOO! .Murderer!Scar: No, Simba, please.Simba: Tell them the truth.Scar: Truth? But truth is in the eye of the beholdllgkkk! (Simba starts to choke Scar.) All right. All right. (quietly, venomously) I did it.Simba: So they can hear you.Scar: (Grudgingly, but clear) I killed Mufasa!Aside: Nala starts towards Scar, the hyenas attack Simba in a wall of teeth. The lionesses join in. Simba chases Scar up to the high point of Pride Rock. Scar runs up to the edge and sees the sheer drop. Simba leaps up to confront him at the cliff-like edge.(Scar is very apprehensive, seeing he cornered and at Simbas mercy.)Simba: (Quietly, severely) Murderer.Scar: Simba, Simba. Please. Please have mercy. I beg you.Simba: You dont deserve to live.Scar: But, Simba, I am. ah.family. Its the hyenas (regaining composure) who are the real enemy. It was their fault- it was their id
