Im from Liujia Middle School, Yibin county. Liujia is a small town far away from here. It takes us about 4 hours to get here. Im very glad to introduce my lesson here today. Now Im talking about the first period of Unit 4 in Grade 7 of Go for It . The title is Wheres my backpack? Ill finish 1a 1c in Section A. Teaching material analysisIn this unit students learn to ask and answer questions about where things are. This part is very important in this unit, because its the beginning of this unit and we can get the main language goals for this unit very easily in it. And the students can improve their mixture abilities. 1. Teaching goals:(1). Knowledge goals:a. Topic: Talk about the room b. Vocabulary: where, table, bed, dresser, bookcase, sofa, chair, drawer, plant, in, on, under, they, theyre=they are c. Structure: wheres Its in /on/ under Where are. Theyre in /on/under.d. Functions: Ss are able to talk about where the things are. (2). Abilities goals: Four skills mainly listening and speaking.(3). Emotion goals:a. Make students have interest and the desire of learning English.b. Learn to put away their things and to form a good habit.2. Difficult and important points:New words: where, in, on, under, table, bed, dresser, bookcase, sofa, chair, drawer, plant, they, theyre=they are c. Structure: Wheres Its in /on/ under Where are. Theyre in /on/under.Studying analysis: There are 70 Ss in my class. We have learned how to talk about ownership in unit 2. And weve learned the names for family members and practiced introducing family members in Unit 3. My Ss are poor but they study hard. And we love each other.Teaching MethodsIll mainly use “Task-based” teaching method. Let the students learn in real situations, finish some tasks.Studying MethodsThey study by working in pairs, groups, playing games, making a survey, singing a song etc.Sing a song :The table numbers First Ill divide the Ss into four groups and bring a competition into the class. At last Ill see which group is the winner.Teaching steps:Ill finish this period in 4 steps.Step1: Revision & lead inDo like this:1): Whats this in English? (用实物进行) Its a book.How do you spell it, please?B-O-O-K. What color is it?Its red. 2): What are these/those in English?Theyre (they are) books.Step2: Presentation 1.Teach in ,on, under with real things. And draw three pictures on the Bb to show what they mean.2. Teach the new words:A: Whats this/that in English? Its a desk.How do you spell it, please? D-E-S-K.B: What are these in English? Theyre desks.E.g.: books, bed, table, dresser, chair, bookcase, sofa, drawer, plant, baseball, keys, backpack(Write the new words on the exercise book while spelling the words3. Task 1 Memory challengeShow a picture of a room, give the students one minute to look at it, then ask them what kind of things they saw and where the things are. Have a competition among groups. See which group can remember all the things and places. 4.Present structure Wheres its in/on/underwith the PPT.5.Task 2 Pairwork Practice Wheres Its in/on/under6.
