Answer:Q2: What is the aim of the attributive part? Answer:Q3:Which parts of speech or structures can be used as attributive part ?Answer: 2. Point out the attributive part. a car, a red car, a red car in the parking lot,my teacher, Marys pen ,swimming pool, a coffee cup , fallen leaves,This is the book ( that ) I bought yesterday.IIIntroduction to attributive clauses(T) First,ask the students to observe the following sentence and then discuss and sum up :He is the student who is loved by all the teachers.A What is an attributive clause ?BWhat is the structure of an attributive clause ? ( 定语从句的构成)C. How to decide the relative pronouns or adverbs? (怎样确定关系代词或者关系副词)Then give the following explanation: Attributive clauses are usually introduced by relative pronouns like which, that, who, whom and whose, or relative adverbs like where, why, and when. In the clause these relative words usually have its own structure function in the sentence. Observation: (S)1.She was the teacher. The teacher taught us English.-She was the teacher who taught English.Discussion and Summary: When shall we use WHO ? Can we use THAT instead of WHO here ?2. Mary is a lovely girl. We all like her. - Mary is a lovely girl whom we all like.Discussion and Summary:When shall we use WHOM ? ( 可否省略?)3.A: The book is very interesting. The book was written by LuXun.-The book that/which was written bu LuXun is very interesting.B:The book ( which /that )I borrowed from the library is very interesting.Discussion and summary: When shall we use WHICH OR THAT ?4.They went to see the old man. His son was killed in the flood.- They went to see the old man whose son was killed in the flood.Discussion and summary ; When shall we use WHOSE ?5. We visited the house. The great man was born in the house.- We visited the house where the great man was born. Discussion and summary :When shall we use WHERE ?6. That was the reason. She didnt turn up at the meeting because of that reason. -That was the reason why she didnt turn up at the meeting.Discussion and summary :When shall we use WHY ?7. I dont know the time. The meeting will be held at the time. - I dont know the time when the meeting will be held.Discussion and summary :When shall we use WHEN ? They are behind the office building. -The trees which/that are behind the office building have lost their leaves.2 This is the book. The teacher is looking for it. -This is the book which/that the teacher is looking for.3What are you looking for ? I am looking for my book.Discussion and summary: Conclusion: 这一点与上一结论有不同之处。代替物的疑问词用WHAT,而定语从句中代替物的引导词绝不能用WHAT,而只能用WHICH 或THAT。IIRelated exercises. PartC1 Page88. Part A Join the sentences together1.
