Events SummarySummary 1:Tearful Putin wins back Russian presidencyRussian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin casts his vote on an electronic ballot box in a polling station in Moscow on Sunday March 4, 2012.Vladimir Putin triumphed in Russias presidential election on Sunday and, tears rolling down his cheeks, called his victory a turning point that had prevented the country falling into the hands of enemies.Putins opponents complained of widespread fraud, refused to recognize the results and said they would press ahead on Monday with the biggest protests since he rose to power 12 years ago.But the former KGB spy said he had won a clean victory and was on course to return to the Kremlin after four years as prime minister with almost 65 percent of votes, partial results showed.I promised you we would win. We have won. Glory to Russia, Putin, dressed in an anorak and flanked by outgoing President Dmitry Medvedev, told tens of thousands of flag-waving supporters at a late-evening victory rally under the red walls of the Kremlin.Denouncing attempts to destroy Russias statehood and usurp power, he said: The Russian people have shown today that such scenarios will not succeed in our land . They shall not pass! The crowd at one point chanted: Putin! Putin! Putin! Some danced to keep warm and drank vodka from plastic glasses, with empty bottles crunching underfoot. It was a defiant and angry speech which left Putin, 59, on collision course with the mainly middle-class protesters in Moscow and other big cities who have staged huge rallies since a disputed parliamentary poll on December 4.Two exit polls showed Putin with 58-59 percent of the votes and incomplete results showed him winning more than 64 percent. His nearest rival Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov, had about 17 percent of votes, and nationalist Vladimir Zhirinovsky, former parliamentary speaker Sergei Mironov and billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov won plaudits for his campaign.Zyuganov said his party would not recognise the result and called the electionillegitimate, dishonest and untransparent.Liberal leader Vladimir Ryzhkov also said it was not legitimate. The protest organizers, who see Putin as an autocratic leader whose return to power will stymie hope of economic and political reforms, said their demonstrations would now grow. The social base of the protest is going to grow and Putin with his team did everything wrong to make this happen. He really helped us, said journalist Sergei Parkhomenko, one of the opposition protest movement. He is forcing things to break point. He is declaring war on us.As a result, the base of aversion to him is growing.Putin had wept real tears at the victory rally but said they were caused by the biting wind. The main challenge for the man credited by many Russians with rebuilding the countrys image and overseeing an economic boom in his first presidency, was to win out wright on Sunday, avoiding a runoff election by receiving more than 50 percent. His clear victory will enable him to portray his return to the post he held from 2000 until 2008 as strong public backing against the protesters, whom he has protrayed as a destabilising minority and pawns of foreign governments.Words:522Source:/language_tips/news/2012-03/05/content_14759281.htm /article/companyNewsEng/idCNL5E8E401520120304 /html/dailyfocus/Politics/2012/0306/48037.htmlSummary 2: The satellite of North Korea failed to go into the orbit Within minutes of the early morning launch, the United States and South Korea declared it a failure.North Korea acknowledged that hours later in an announcement broadcast on sate TV,saying the satellite that the rocket was carrying had been unable to enter into orbit. World leaders were swift to denounce the launch ,calling it a covert test of missile technology and a flagrant violation of international resolutions prohibiting .North Korea from developing its nuclear and missile programs. The rockets destruction suggests the country has yet to master the technology deeded to build long-range missiles that could threaten the United States.Still worries remain about North Koreas nuclear program amid reports that it may be planning an atomic test soon. The launch is also a setback for the government of new leader Kim Jong Un,which had projected the satellite as a show of strength amid persistent economic hardship while he solidifies power following the death of his father longtime leader Kim Jong II,eight month ago.The foreign ministers of the Group of Eight industrialized nations meeting in Washington, including Russia, condemned the launch. The UN Security Council, meanwhile, scheduled an emergency meeting for later Friday, and Washington said it was suspending plans to contribute food aid to the North in exchange for a rollback of its nuclear programs.North Korea had announced weeks earlier that it would launch a long-range rocket mounted with an observational satellite touting it as a major technological achievement to mark the upcoming 100th anniversary of the birth of Kim II Sung, the countrys founder and current leaders grandfather.Experts say the Unha-3 carrier was the same type of rocket that would be used to strike the U.S.and other targets with a long-range missile. The failure shows that the North Korean havent mastered the technology they need to control multistage rockets-a key capability if the North Korea is to threaten the United States with intercontinental ballistic missiles.North Korea has tested two atonic devices but is not yet believed to be able to build a nuclear warhead small enough to be mounted on a long-range missile. An Asia adviser for former President George W.Bush, said the next step would be to watch whether North Korea conducts a third nuclear test,as has been speculated by the South Korean intelligence community .State media said that the Kwangmyongsong-3 satellite was fired from the Sohae Satellite Launching Station in the hamlet of Tongchang-ri along the west coast but failed to enter its preset orbit.According to the worsd of the officials of North Korea, the Unha-3 rocket was meant to send a satellite into orbit to study crops and weather patterns-its third bid to launch a satellite since 1998.Officials had earlier brought foreign journalists to the west coast site to see the rocket and the Kwangmyongsong-3 satellite to show its transparency amid accusations of defiance. The foreign journalists were invited to cover the launch but were not allowed to view the liftoff live. The Unha-3s launch was monitored by a host of U.S,Japanese,South Korean military assets, which were expected to capture vital data on North Koreas ballistic missile capabilities.Words:517Source:.tw/asia/korea/2012/04/13/337723/NKorea-says.htm /news/world/story/2012-04-12/north-korea-rocket-launch/54 228082/1Summary3: The Shenzhou-9 manned spacecraft has been lanched Since 1950s and 1960s,the aerospace business of China has been developing steadily. In 2010,the second unmanned lunar probe , a mapping satellite and a remote-sensing satellite were separately launched into the space successfully. Then cames the Shenzhou-9 manned spacecraft, which gets a lot of public attention. The Shenzhou-9 manned spacecraft has been lanched at 6:37 p.m. Saturday local time June 16th 2012 at Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre in Gansu Province in northwest China. Three astronauts, two males Jing Haipeng who is the captain of the three astronauts ,LiuWang and one female whose name is Liu Yang, boarded on Chinas fourth manned spacecraft on the countrys first manned space docking mission between Tiangong-1, an unmanned space module, and Shenzhou-9 manned spacecraft. The spokeswoman of the Shenzhou-9 mission headquarters briefed the media at a press conference on Wednesday June 13th 2012, giving an insight into the purposes and difficulties of the mission. The purpose of the mission is to launch the Shenzhou-9 spaceship and dock with the Tiangong -1 space module automatically and then manually. It is to verify for the first time manual docking technology, and further verify the auto docking technology. It is the first time astronauts are to visit the in-orbit space vehicle Tiangong-1, and the first time for transporting cargo and resupply from the earth to orbit. This is also the first Chinese female astronaut to perform an outer space mission. It was said by a senior medical expert from the astronaut selection panel that the female astronaut had to meet the same criteria as the men.The selection of reserve astronauts is quite strict.People who have common diseases are all failed. Also, the family members of the reserve astronauts have to produce the clean bill of health to prove that they are all without contagious diseases. At 12:55 pm on June 29th 2012,with the precise operating of the astronauts, the Shenzhou-9 manned spacecraft and Tiangong-1 space module manually docked, which marked the complete success of the first manual docking by astronauts in China. As the mission of docking with the Tiangong-1 space module manually was successfully finished, the main landing field in Inner Mongolia Siziwangqi is started in the roun
