Section IIIBuilding Equipment1. Water Supply and Drainage Equipment1.1 Piping ArrangementArchitectural Design Specification for Library JGJ 38-997.1.2 Water distribution point shall not be provided in stacks in libraries. Piping for water supply and drainage shall not pass through stacks. Vertical sewage pipe shall not be installed in interior walls neighboring stacks.Architectural Design Specification for Archives JGJ 25-866.1.2 Water using point shall not be arranged in warehouse area of archives gallery and piping for water supply and drainage shall not pass through warehouse area of archives gallery.Design Specification for Architectural Water Supply and Drainage GBJ 15-88 2.4.2 Water supply piping shall not be arranged above raw materials, products or equipment which will burn or explode in contacting with water.3.3.7 Drainage pipe shall not be arranged above raw materials, products or equipment, which will be burnt or explosive in contacting with water.3.3.9 Drainage pipe shall not be arranged above dining rooms, operating and cooking rooms for main food or non-staple food in eating establishments. In case due to condition limitation it is unavoidable, protection measures shall be taken.Design Specification for Peoples Air Defense Basement GB 50038-946.1.15 When water supply piping for air defense basement is introduced from entry or exit, blast wave proof valves shall be provided inside the protection sealing doors. If they are introduced from the guard protection structures, blast wave proof valves shall be provided to the inside of exterior walls or inside of ceilings. The force of resistance shall not be less than 1Mpa.6.2.11 In case the vent pipe is necessary to pass through the guard protection structure of sir defense basement, valve with nominal pressure not less than 1MPa shall be provided to its inside.6.2.16 Blast wave proof valves with nominal pressure not less than 1MPa shall be provided to the inside of the places where the pressurized discharge pipe is passing through exterior wall or ceiling.6.4.8 When fuel transfer pipe for diesel generator house is introduced from entry or exit, blast wave proof valves shall be provided to the inside of protection sealing doors. If it is introduced from the guard protection structures, blast wave proof valves shall be provided to the inside of exterior walls or the inside of ceilings. The force of resistance shall not be less than 1MPa.1.2 Water Quality and Anti-Pollution of Flow BackDesign Specification for Architecture Water Supply and Drainage GBJ 15-882.2.3 Drinking water shall not be polluted by flow back and when designing, it shall meet following requirements:1. Water distribution outlet of water supply pipe shall not be submerged with any liquid or foreign substances.2. Water distribution outlet of water supply pipe shall be higher than overflow level of water-using equipment and the minimum air space shall not be less than 2.5 times the diameter of water distribution outlet pipe of water supply pipe.3. For special appliances and water equipment for production, if it is impossible to provide this minimum air space, anti-pollution separators shall be provided or effective separation measures shall be taken.2.2.5 Piping for drinking water is strictly prohibited to directly connect to toilets (channels).2.2.7 The net distance from buried water tank for drinking water to septic tank shall not be less than 10m. In case this net distance can not be secured, measures shall be taken to prevent tanks for drinking water from pollution.2.2.10 When drinking water is sharing water pond or water tank with water for other purpose, the body of water pond (tank) shall be independent structure. The original bottom of the building shall not be used as the wall of the water pond or water tank.3.3.3 Following equipment or vessels shall not be directly connected with piping of sewage or wastes and indirect drainage shall be used:1. Discharge pipe or overflow pipe of water pond or water tank for drinking water.2. Drain from food preparation or equipment washing in kitchen.3. Drain from medical equipment sterilizing.4. Drain from A/C equipment of vaporization type coolers, air cooling towers.5. The ground drain from cold storage rooms or cold storage warehouses for food or beverage and the drain from defrost water pan of air cooling machine.1.3 Sanitary Equipment and Water TreatmentArchitectural Design Specification for Comprehensive Hospital JGJ 49-885.2.3 Non-manual switch shall be provided to sinks for following rooms and measures shall be taken to prevent them from spilling:1. Examining rooms, consulting rooms, delivery room, operating rooms, testing room, doctors offices, nurses offices, treatment rooms, prescription rooms, disinfection chambers;2. Other rooms with requirements for sterilization or requirements for non inter-infection.5.2.6 Device for controlling temperature and stabilizing pressure shall be provided to warm water supply for infant washing ponds.Design Specification for Architectural Water Supply and Drainage GBJ 15-883.2.11 When sanitary wares and industrial wastes receivers are connected to sewage piping or other drainage piping which may produce hazardous gases, trap bends shall be provided bellow drainage outlet.Note: In case trap bend is structured in sanitary ware, it is not necessary to provided trap bend bellow drainage outlet.3.3.2 Water seal device shall be provided to the places connecting indoor draining ditch to outdoor draining pipe.3.9.17 The sewage containing radioactive substance, heavy metal or other toxic or hazardous substances and they do not meet the standards for draining shall be separately treated and then drained to hospital sewage treatment station or municipal drainage piping.3.8.6E De-odor system shall be provided to sewage treatment facilities.3.8.6F In case sewage treatment structure is in buildings, separate partition room shall be provided to machines of large noise in operation.2. Fuel Gas Equipment2.1 Indoor Fuel Gas PipingDesign Specification for Urban Fuel Gas GB 50028-937.2.1 The maximum pressure for users indoor fuel gas piping shall not exceed what specified in Table 7.2.1Maximum Pressure for Users Indoor Fuel Gas Piping (psi, MPa) Table 7.2.1User of gasMax. pressureIndustrial users and independent boiler houses0.4Public architectures and residence users (medium pressure users)0.2Public architectures and residence users (low pressure users)0.0057.2.3 Pressurized equipment is strictly prohibited to install above urban gas supply piping. 7.2.4 When pressure boosting is necessary due to the supply pressure can not meet the requirement of users equipment, it shall meet following requirements:(1) Float buffer shall be provided before pressure boosting equipment. The capacity of the buffer shall secure that the pressure of local piping network shall not be affected when it is pressurized.(2) Low pressure protection device for piping network shall be provided before the buffer.(3) The buffer shall have automatic cut-off valve which interlocks the low limit of capacity of the buffer with boosting equipment.(4) By pass valve and outlet check valve shall be provided to the boosting equipment.7.2.10 Fuel gas induction pipe shall not be installed in bedrooms, bathrooms, basements, warehouses for flammable or explosive substances, rooms with corrosive media, power distribution rooms, transformer rooms, cable ditches, fume channels or air introducing channels, etc.7.2.11 When fuel gas induction pipe is passing through the sealed rooms, the sealed rooms shall be reformed and vent ports shall be provided. The times for venting and air changing shall not be less than 3 times per hour. 7.2.13 When fuel gas induction pipe is passing through foundations, walls or piping channels of the building, it shall be installed in sleeve and the factor of settlement shall be taken into consideration. If it is necessary, measures for compensation shall be taken.7.2.14 The minimum nominal diameter of fuel gas induction pipe shall meet following requirements:(1) When delivering fuel gas of manual coal gas or mining gas, it shall not be less than 25mm;(2) When delivering fuel gas of natural gas or LPG, it shall not be less than 15mm.7.2.16 Fuel gas piping in buildings or structures shall be surface mounted. When it is specially required by architecture or process, it may be concealed, however it shall be convenient for installation and maintenance.The concealed fuel gas piping shall meet following requirements:(2) Movable door and vent hole shall be provided to piping channels for concealed fuel gas piping. Movable cover shall be provided to ditch for concealed fuel gas piping and it shall be back filled with dry sand.(3) Anti corrosion insulation layer shall be applied to piping;(4) Fuel gas piping shall not be installed in any ditch where corrosive media may permeate;(5) When the ditch where the fuel gas piping is installed is crossing with other ditches, the places between ditches shall be sealed. The fuel gas piping shall be installed in steel sleeve;(6) Adequate ventilation shall be provided to floors where equipment is installed and to the piping shaft where fuel gas piping is installed. Fireproof insulation layer with same fireproof limitation as the slab shall be provided to piping shaft on each floor, and convenient access door for maintenance shall be provided;7.2.18 Indoor fuel gas piping shall not pass through warehouses for flammable or explosive materials, power distribution rooms, transformer rooms, cable ditches, fume channels and air introducing channels etc.7.2.19 Indoor fuel gas piping shall not be installed in wet places or in rooms of corrosive media. If it is necessary, anti-corrosion measures shall be taken.7.2.20 Fuel gas piping is strictly prohibited to be in bedrooms. When horizontal fuel gas piping is passing through bedrooms, bathrooms or basements, welded connection shall apply and they shall be in sleeve. Fuel gas vertical pipe shall not be in bedrooms, bathrooms or toilets.7.2.21 When indoor fuel gas piping is passing through slabs, landing of staircase, walls or partition walls, it shall be installed in sleeves.7.2.24 Limit deformation of fuel gas piping under environment working temperature shall be taken into consideration.7.2.25 Insulation measures shall be taken for fuel gas piping which is delivering wet fuel gas and it is in rooms where ambient temperature is bellow 0 and for the piping delivering gas phase LPG where the ambient temperature is bellow dew point.7.2.26 The net distance between the indoor fuel gas piping and electrical equipment and neighboring piping shall not be less than what specified in Table 7.2.26Net Distance between Fuel Gas Piping and Electrical Equipment and Neighboring Piping Table 7.2.26Piping and EquipmentNet distance from fuel gas piping (cm)Installed in parallelInstalled by crossingElectrical equipmentInsulated wires or cables surface mounted2510 (See note)Insulated wire concealed or in conduit5 (calculated form edge of channel or conduit)1Conductive part of bare wire with volt less than 1000V100100Power distribution panel or box30Not allowedNeighboring pipingThe installation, safety maintenance and repairing of fuel gas piping and neighboring piping must be secured2Note: When surface mounted wire is crossing fuel gas piping and the net distance is less than 10cm, insulation sleeve shall be provided to the wire. Both ends of insulation sleeve shall be 10cm longer than fuel gas piping.7.2.28 The installation of piping for manual coal gas or natural gas in basement, semi-basement or on floors for equipment shall meet following requirements:(1) The net height shall not be less than 2.2m;(2) Adequate ventilation shall be provided. For basement and underground floor for equipment, mechanical ventilation or emergency air exhausting facilities shall be provided;(3) Fixed lighting equipment shall be provided;(4) When fuel piping is installed together with other piping, it shall be arranged at outer side of other piping;(5) Fuel gas piping shall be weld connected or flange connected;(6) It shall be separated from telephone rooms, transformer rooms, repairing rooms and store rooms with solid walls of non-combustible material;(7) Releasing and scattering piping shall be provided to the end of fuel gas piping in basement and it should be introduced out of the ground. The position of outlet of releasing and scattering pipe shall meet the requirements for safety and sanitary when it is releasing and scattering in flushing.7.2.29 LPG piping shall not be installed in basement, semi-basement or on floors for equipment.7.2.30 The installation of valves for indoor fuel gas piping shall meet following requirements:(1) It shall be installed before gas meter;(2) It shall be installed before gas-using equipment or burners;(3) It shall be installed before lighter and pressure testing point;(4) It shall be installed before releasing and scattering pipe.7.2.31 Releasing and scattering pipe shall be provided to fuel gas piping of large or medium size gas-using equipment. The outlet of releasing and scattering pipe shall be 1m higher than the ridge and measures shall be taken to prevent rain or snow from entering the piping and prevent releasing or scattering substance from entering the room in flushing.When the building is out of the anti-lightning area, the lead of releasing and scattering pipe shall be grounded and the grounding resistance shall be less than 10.7.2.32 For fuel gas vertical pipe in high-story buildings, bearing support shall be provided and measures for releasing additional pressure to fuel gas shall be taken.7.2.34 When hose is used to connect burner and fuel gas piping, the design shall meet following requirements:(1) The length of the hose for home use kitchen stove and for lab burner shall not be longer than 2m and it shall not have any connection;(3) Hose shall be oil resistance rubber one;(4) Pressing bolts (locking bolts) or pipe clamps shall be used to fix the connection of the hose with the fuel gas piping, adapter pipe and burners.(5) The hose shall not pass through walls, windows or doors.2.2 Cylinder LPGDesign Specification for Urban Fuel Gas GB 50028-936.6.2 The arrangement of cylinders of single cylinder supply system inside the door shall meet following requirements:(1) The net distance from cylinder to burner shall not be less than 0.5m;(2) The net distance from cylinder to radiator shall not be less than 1m. In case heat isolation plate is provided to the radiator, it can be shortened to 0.50m;(3) Cylinders shall not be arranged in basement, semi-basement or to the place where no adequate ventilation is provided.6.6.3 If cylinders of single-cylinder supply system are placed outside the door, they shall be arranged in a special chamber.6.6.6 When the total volume of cylinders of group-cylinder supply system is less than 1m3, it can be arranged in rooms for group-cylinders attached to the building or in special rooms and it shall meet following requirements:(1) The class of architectural fireproof shall not be less than regulations of “Class 2” design specified in existing State Standard Fireproof Specification for Architecture Design GBJ 16;(2) It shall have adequate ventilation and with door directly leading to outside;(3) The wall neighboring to other rooms shall be firewalls without door or window opening on them;(4) Ambient temperature shall not be higher than 45, but not lower than 0. 2.3 Measuring of Fuel GasDesign Specification for Urban Fuel Gas GB 50028-937.3.2 Measuring device shall be separately provided to users to whom fuel gas is supplied by piping.7.3.3 The location for installation of measuring device shall meet following requirements:(2) It is strictly prohibited to install in bedrooms, bathrooms, store rooms for flammable or hazardous materials or other similar places;(4) The ambient temperature where membrane meter is installed shall be higher than 0 for manual coal gas or natural gas while for LPG, it shall be higher than the dew point.7.3.4 The installation of gas meter shall meet the requirements for reading, maintenance and repairing. When the meter is installed over the kitchen stove, the net horizontal distance from the stove to the meter shall not be less than 30cm.2.4 Gas for Resident Daily UseDesign Specification for Urban Fuel Gas GB 50028-937.4.1 All gas equipment for resident daily use shall use low pressure fuel gas.7.4.2 All gas equipment for resident daily use is strictly prohibited to install in bedrooms.7.4.3 Exhaust fan shall be provided to residence or kitchen where direct-exhaust type heater is installed.7.4.5 The installation of gas stove shall meet following requirements:(1) It shall be installed in kitchen with adequate ventilation. In case the outer room of the bedroom is used as the kitchen or the corridor solely for that household use is used as the kitchen, doors shall be provided to separate it from the bedroom.(2) The net height for rooms where gas stove is installed shall not be less than 2.20m;(3) Effective fireproof and heat isolation measures shall be taken to places between gas stove and combustible or difficult-combustible walls; The net space from the edge of gas stovetop or from side of oven to wood furniture shall not be less than 20 cm;At least a space of 1m shall be provided between gas stove and opposite wall.7.4.6 Gas heater shall be installed in rooms or corridors with adequate ventilation and shall meet following requirements:(1) Direct-exhaust type heater is strictly prohibited to install in bath
