The Blind SideIntroduction The Blind Side is a 2009 American semi-biographical drama film. It is written and directed by John Lee Hancock, and based on the 2006 book The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game by Michael Lewis. The Blind Side tells the story of NFL offensive lineman Michael Oher. It was produced by Alcon Entertainment and released by Warner Bros. According to Reuters, the films production budget was $29 million. Filming for the school scenes took place at Atlanta International School and The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, Georgia. And the film itself received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture.Plot SummaryThe Blind Side tells the ture story of Michael Oher(Quinton Aaron) who is a homeless and struggling teenage who is taken in by the big-hearted and wealthy Leigh Anne Tuohy( Sandra Bullock) who quickly recognizes and fosters the boys potential. Through the compassion ,generosity and love of Tuohy and her family. Michael gained confidence in life and study . After his grades improve, Michael is allowed to join the school football team, because of Michaels physical advantage and protective instincts , Michael dominates on the field. For his excellent performance on the match ,he become very famous,but Leigh Anne discovers that to get a NCAA Division scholarship, Michael needs a 2.5 GPA, so they hire a tutor, Miss Sue (Kathy Bates). Some of the teachers help out as well, and Michael ends up with a GPA of 2.52. When coaches come to recruit Michael, Leigh Anne after a serious thinking and tell him :Its your life ,Its your choice.The ActingThe acting of the most actors ,in my opinion ,is very excellent. For Sandra Bullock ,audiences may be more accustomed to seeing Sandra Bullock playing quirky, cutesy female leads in fluffy rom-coms, but she is superb in her turn as the driven and many-layered Leigh Anne Tuohy. her wonderful performance won her the Academy Award for Best Actress, as well as the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role.Quinton Aaron, too, delivers a fine performance as Oher; his acting is understated, succeeding in conveying the depth of emotions beneath Ohers reserved, silent exterior.The Background Music The background music of The Blind Side ,I think very beautiful. The movie features 23 songs by artists including Les Paul, Young MC, Lucy Woodward, The Books, Canned Heat, Five for Fighting, and film costar Tim McGraw. My favorite songs are Cello Song by Nick Drake, Bust A Move by Young MC and Chances by Five For Fighting. Cello song at the beginning of the film ,when I at the first hear it , I feel very comfortable and guess this film must be worth my time.When i hear the Bust A Move , always recall the excitement of Michael and SJ are singing in the truck ,even though they had an accident. Chances at the last of the film , everybody will recognize that the film have a happy ending.Final Review I would definitely recommend The Blind Side to all movie lovers. It is such an excellent movie.The story line is very inspiring, because everyone has his blind side ,all of us need to be protected. Just as the commentator in the film said :The Blind Side is a jargon used in American football, the highest paid player on the National football league is the quarterback,and the second highest paid player is the left trackle ,and the left trackles job is to protect the quartback ,from what he cant see coming ,to protect his blind side . Michael s blind side is that he has no home and no one takes care of him .Fortunately ,he finally met his left trackle -the Tuohy family ,especially, Leigh Anne Tuohy ,she cant bear to see Michael strolling in the cold night ,therefore she takes him home and gradually makes him a part of her faimly.
