HOUSEHOLD REGISTER(Translation)UNDER SUPERVISION OF THE MINISTRY OF PUBLIC SECURITY OF PRC1. The Household Register is the legal certification of the citizens status and the relations between family members. It is also the main basis for the household registration authority to make an investigation and verification concerning the household registration. The householder or the family members should hand over the Household Register to the officer of the household registration authority on their own initiative while the investigation and verification are being conducted.2. The householder should keep the Household Register properly. Modifying, transferring and lending it without authorization are forbidden. Notice should be immediately sent to the authority once the Household Register is lost.3. The household registration authority possesses the exclusive right to make entries in the Household Register. No other units and individuals can make entries in it.4. If there is increase or decrease in the number of the family members or any changes in terms of the registered items some members of the household should go to the household registration authority to apply for registration with the Household Register.5.
