Conditions Treated Sciatica Low Back Disc Bulge Neck Disc Bulge Herniated Disc in the Low Back Herniated Disc in the Neck Pinched Nerve Facet Syndrome Degenerative Disc Disease Golf Related Back Pain Did you know? Spinal Bones are Separated by Discs Long-term Compression can Cause Discs to Bulge, Herniate, or Tear Disc Bulges and Disc Herniations can Lead to “Pinched” Nerves Sciatica Pinched Sciatic NerveThe sciatic nerve is a large nerve that travels down the back of the leg to the bottom of the foot. It originates from the spine at the level of the low back and has many branches. Irritation of the sciatic nerve at any point along its path is commonly referred to as “sciatica”. The symptoms of sciatica often include sharp pain, numbness, tingling or burning in the back of the legs. In severe circumstances, weakness in the legs can also be seen.Sciatic nerve irritation can take many forms. One of the more serious causes of sciatica is direct compression or impingement from a disc bulge or herniated disc. Treatment to eliminate sciatica symptoms should include methods that painlessly remove this compression without drugs or surgery such as DRX9000 Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression. The Discs of the Spine: An OverviewThe bones of the spine are separated by tough cartilage pads called intervertebral discs (inter = “between”; vertebral = “bones of the spine”). Healthy discs are thick and flexible (like a wet sponge) allowing a wide range of bending and twisting motions. An unhealthy disc is stiff and hard (like a dry sponge) and prone to injuries such as bulging or herniation. Over time gravity, spinal joint dysfunction and accumulated trauma cause the discs to compress, flatten and degenerate. This constant compression prevents much-needed oxygen and nutrients from entering the disc. This ongoing starvation causes the once-tough outer layers of the disc to soften allowing the disc to become injured or diseased. Disc damage can occur anywhere in the spine. However, the discs of the neck (cervical spine) and low back (lumbar spine) are the most commonly injured.A.B.C.Disc Bulge (A)Herniated Disc (B)Disk Rupture (C)Disease of the spinal discs can take many forms. Significant disc damage can lead to a Disc Bulge, become a tear called a Disc Herniation or the inner gelatinous material of the disc can leak out in the case of a Ruptured Disc. The “jelly center” of the disc can also dry out over time which is referred to as Degenerative Disc Disease. All forms of disc injury can eventually impinge on the nerves exiting the spine (“Pinched Nerve”) which can create numbness, tingling, burning or sharp pain down the arms or legs. Sharp pain originating from the back and “shooting” down the legs is often referred to as Sciatica. The most effective treatment available to reverse sciatica caused by a disc bulge or herniated disc is Non-Surgical Spinal Disc Decompression using the DRX9000.Sciatica: Non-Surgical Spinal Disc Decompression with the DRX9000Non-Surgical Spinal Disc Decompression provides relief to sciatica sufferers by gently reducing the pressure within spinal discs. The bones of the spine are slowly and methodically separated using DRX9000 Spinal Decompression equipment. As the vertebrae are separated pressure is slowly reduced within the disc (intradiscal pressure) until a vacuum is formed. This vacuum “sucks” the gelatinous center of the disc back into the disc thereby reducing the disc bulge or herniated disc. Significant reduction removes pressure off the sciatic nerve roots and drastically reduces pain and disability. This “sucking” vacuum also pulls much-needed oxygen and nutrients into injured and degenerated discs allowing the healing to begin. The treatment motion is computer controlled to provide gentle and painless decompression of the injured spinal discs. Advanced DRX9000 decompression techniques separate slowly and cycle between brief moments of pulling and relaxing (oscillation). This reduces protective muscle spasm that contributed to the poor success rate of other “traction” techniques. The latest DRX9000 decompression technologies also incorporate angulated elongation methods to target specific discs of the spine (for example: L5/S1 at the base of the spine). This allows the treatment to rely less on brute force (separating multiple levels with high force) and more on finesse (using less decompressive force to focus on a single spinal segment) to rehabilitate individual spinal discs.Did you know? The sciatic nerve travels down the back of the leg to the bottom of the foot. Sciatica symptoms include numbness, tingling, sharp or burning pain down the back of the legs. Direct compression of the sciatic nerve by a disc bulge or herniated disc is one of the more serious causes of sciatica. DRX9000 Spinal Decompression is effective at relieving sciatica pain by reducing disc compression on the sciatic nerve.Pinched Nerve Symptoms and Pinched Sciatic NerveNumbness and tingling are symptoms generally associated with nerve damage or irritation. The most common type of injury to a nerve is an impingement or “pinching” of the nerve. Nerve impingement often occurs at the spine and can be caused by being “sandwiched” between two spinal bones (subluxation), pressed upon by a bulging disc (herniated disc) or encroached upon by bony overgrowth (spinal stenosis). The area where you experience pinched nerve symptoms is indicative of where in the spine the “pinching” occurs. Nerve irritation in the neck often leads to symptoms in the shoulders, arms or hands. Similar problems in the low back can cause numbness and tingling down the legs and into the feet. Sharp pain down the back of the legs is often referred to as Sciatica.Pinched Nerve SymptomsPinched nerves can cause a variety of symptoms including sharp, shooting pain; numbness; tingling; and weakness. The symptoms can occur near the site of the impingement or can “radiate” into the arms or legs. If this occurs in the neck, the pinched nerve symptoms will often occur in the shoulders, arms or hands. If it is in the low back, then the pinched nerve symptoms are more likely to be in the buttock, hips, legs or feet.Pinched Nerve Treatmens with the DRX9000 Spinal DecompressionNon-Surgical Spinal Decompression using the DRX9000 provides relief to Pinched Nerve sufferers by gently separating the bones of the spine. The DRX9000 can reverse all 3 major Pinched Nerve causes in the following ways:Subluxation (“Sandwiched” Between Two Bones):The DRX9000 gently separates the bones of the spine allowing fluid to be “pulled” into the disc. As the fluid enters the disc it will “plump up” to maintain the distance between the bones. The space between the bones is increased allowing the nerves to pass between the bones without being pinched.Herniated Disc (Disc Bulge Pressing on the Nerve):Non-Surgical Spinal Disc Decompression gently reduces the pressure within spinal discs by slowly and methodically separating the bones of the spine using the DRX9000. This decrease in disc pressure forms a vacuum that “sucks” the gelatinous center of the disc back into the disc. The Disc Bulge / Disc Herniation is reduced in size which removes pressure off the spinal nerves. This “sucking” vacuum also pulls much-needed oxygen and nutrients into injured and degenerated discs allowing the healing to begin.Stenosis (Bony Overgrowth That Shrinks the Exit Canal for the Spinal Nerve):Spinal Stenosis reduces the space available in the canal where the nerve exits the spine. This canal is called the intervertebral foramen (literally: “hole between the bones of the spine”). There are only two available options when this degenerative process occurs. The extra bony growth can be surgically removed or the “hole” can be enlarged allowing more room for the nerve. The surgical option can be quite risky due to the procedure taking place in VERY close proximity to both the spinal nerve and the spinal cord. Therefore, Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression is an excellent alternative to such procedures. The bones of the spine are gently separated allowing more space for the nerve “to breathe”. The discs of the spine will fill in with fluid allowing them to maintain the space between the bones keeping the pressure off the nerves. This allows the treatment to rely less on brute force (separating multiple levels with high force) and more on finesse (using less decompressive force to focus on a single spinal segment) to rehabilitate individual spinal discs.Did you know? There are three Different Ways a Nerve Can Become Pinched: 1. Subluxation: “Sandwiched” Between the Bones of the Spine2. Herniated Disc / Disc Bulge: Pressed Upon By a Herniated Disc or Disc Bulge3. Spinal Stenosis: Squeezed Within the Nerve Channel by Bony Overgrowth / Arthritis Pinched Nerves often cause numbness, tingling or sharp pain. A Pinched Nerve in the neck will often cause symptoms in the shoulders, arms elbow, wrists or hands. A Pinched Nerve in the low back will often cause symptoms in the buttock, hip, legs, knees and/or feet. Bulging DiscsThe Discs of the Spine: An OverviewThe bones of the spine are separated by tough cartilage pads called intervertebral discs (inter = “between”; vertebral = “bones of the spine”). Sharp pain originating from the back and “shooting” down the legs is often referred to as Sciatica. The most effective treatment available to heal a Bulging Disc is Non-Surgical Spinal Disc Decompression using the DRX9000.Bulging Disc : DefinitionA Bulging Disc occurs when the tough outer fibers of the spinal disc weaken and stretch allowing the “jelly center” of the disc to “bulge” outward. A Disc Bulge is generally considered the first step toward a more serious problem called a Herniated Disc. A Herniated Disc is similar to a Disc Bulge except that the outer layers of the disc actually weaken to the point of tearing.Bulging Disc : SymptomsThe majority of symptoms caused by a Bulging Disc are related to irritation of spinal nerves. These nerves exit the spine through small holes called foramen. The spinal discs are located next to these nerve passageways. The bulging of the disc material caused by a Bulging Disc can “pinch” these nerves creating a variety of uncomfortable and sometimes debilitating symptoms.Bulging Disc of the Low Back: Lumbar Spine Disc BulgeA Disc Bulge in the low back can cause low back pain or numbness, tingling, burning, sharp pain or weakness in the legs or feet. Sharp pain along the back of the legs is often referred to as Sciatica. Bulging Disc of the Neck: Cervical Spine Disc BulgeA Bulging Disc in the neck can cause neck pain, or in more severe cases, numbness, tingling, burning, sharp pain or weakness in the arms or hands.Bulging Disc : Non-Surgical Spinal Disc Decompression with the DRX9000Non-Surgical Spinal Disc Decompression provides relief to severe back and neck pain sufferers by gently reducing the pressure within spinal discs. This vacuum “sucks” the gelatinous center of the disc back into the disc thereby reducing the Disc Bulge. Significant disc bulge reduction removes pressure off the spinal nerves and drastically reduce pain and disability. This reduces protective muscle spasm that contributed to the poor success rate of outdated “traction” techniques. Spinal disc injuries may be diagnosed as “bulging”, “herniated” or “ruptured”. Bulging Disc refers to a disc that has become misshapen over time. This is often caused by chronic poor posture or repetitive straining as seen with bending, lifting or twisting. A disc herniation occurs when the tough outer layers of the disc tear partially. If the herniation worsens to the point that the gelatinous center of the disc escapes, it is called a rupture.Facet SyndromeProlonged, uncorrected dysfunction and accumulated trauma can cause the joint surfaces to become compressed together preventing proper motion. This condition is often referred to as a Facet Syndrome. The fluid lubricant within these joints requires proper and complete joint motion to keep it circulating. Therefore, a Facet Syndrome can cause degenerative changes to occur by starving the cartilage of much-needed oxygen and nutrients. Facet Syndrome is now treatable using DRX9000 Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression. However, if left untreated the degenerative changes that began with the Facet Syndrome can progress into more serious problems that can become irreversible. These conditions include osteoarthritis and degenerative joint disease. Facet Syndrome: SymptomsThe symptoms of a facet syndrome generally include deep, achy pain in the neck or low back. The pain is often near the center of the spine and is more pronounced on one side of the spine. The pain is often made worse by bending toward the affected side or bending backward. It is also common to experience stiffness in the involved region of the spine in the morning that is decreased with activity or stretching. Facet Syndrome symptoms are often aggravated by prolonged sitting or standing.Facet Syndrome: Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression with the DRX9000Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression provides relief to severe back and neck pain sufferers by gently separating the bones of the spine. The bones are slowly and methodically separated using DRX9000 Spinal Decompression equipment. As the vertebrae are separated pressure is slowly reduced within the facet. Decompressing the “jammed” spinal joints can drastically reduce pain and disability. Also, the separation creates a “sucking” vacuum within the joint capsule that pulls much-needed oxygen, nutrients and fluids into the injured joint space allowing healing to begin. The treatment motion is computer controlled to provide gentle and painless decompression of the “jammed” spinal joints. Advanced DRX9000 decompression techniques separate slowly and cycle between brief moments of pulling and relaxing (oscillation). This reduces protective muscle spasm that contributed to the poor success outdated of other “traction” techniques. The latest DRX9000 decompression technologies also incorporate angulated elongation methods to target specific joints of the spine (for example: L5/S1 at the base of the spine). This allows the treatment to rely less on brute force (separating multiple levels with high force) and more on finesse (using less decompressive force to focus on a single spinal segment) to rehabilitate individual spinal joints.Did you know? Spinal bones are connected together by interlocking “fingers” of bone called facet joints. Prolonged, uncorrected joint dysfunction and accumulated trauma can cause the joint surfaces to become compressed, preventing proper motion. This condition is called Facet Syndrome. Facet Syndrome symptoms generally include deep, achy pain in the neck or low back that is often made worse by bending toward the affected side.
