Garden of Hope:Kunming Gaoxin Primary SchoolKunming Gaoxin Primary School was found on September 1st,2000 at 11# Keyi Road of High and New technology Industry Development Zone. From Administration Committee of Kunming High and New technology Industry Development Zone, investment of the modernized experimental school is up to 30,000,000 Yuan. Our school has two campus. The Keyi Road campus covers an area of 26 mu and the construction area is over 10,000 square meters. The school scale was designed to be 36 classes. The HaiYuan Road campus, the new campus, which strated on Aug. 23, 2010, covers an area about 55 mu and the construction area is 37,112 square meters. The district is designed to be 60 classes. The school is equipped with campus networks, natural laboratories, computer classrooms, phonetic classrooms, gym, labor & technique classroom, multimedia hall and over-standard plastic playground. Multimedia teaching facilities are provided in each classroom.Now, there are 44 classes with 2542 students and 118 teachers. All teachers are graduated from high education institutions, 90% of them are bachelors, 24% are postgraduates and 22% are municipal teaching guides. Their team spirit shows whatever they do, they do it for students, do everything for every individual student.With 11 years hard striving, the school stands out. The school executes its education policy that every student can succeed, personality of teachers and students is equal. The school carries out its teaching principals-Interest, affection, independence, cooperation, discovery, innovation. The school actualizes the teaching training by integration of research, management, moral and characteristic teaching. Starting from situation of its social community location and meeting the needs of the 21st century, combining the education of ordinary, elementary and professional together, the school aims to develop students with information, language, art and practical skills.With 11 years hard striving, up to 2000 person-time won prizes in competitions of education research paper writing, lesson handling and teaching skill. With 11 years hard striving, more than 4000 students were awarded by various competitions. With 11 years hard striving, the school was entitles as English School of Kunming City, the school was appraised to be 1st Rank Example School and Educational Research Experimental School of Yunnan Province.The development goals of our school for the second stage are modernization, internationalization and collectivization. To create our school becomes the first-class at home and well known abroad, our school strengthens the teaching conception of “self-cooperation, exploration and happy learning”, requires each subject to establish excellent brand, reinforce the construction and develop more characteristic activities. Our school pay attention to the English Education, develop multi-language teaching. We begin the English class in Grade 1 and Thai language in Grade 2. The special classrooms such as Language Lab, the English situation room, the English activity room, have been built for the multi-language teaching.With the guidance of advanced education theories, our school puts forwad the school-running characteristic named “Colorful Education” after 10 years development. The “Colorful Education” holds that education should respect for personal differences; education should make the educated continuously and happily developed under the previous basis so that every individual can be sparkle. The “Colorful Education” pursuits the teaching approaches which holds “learning should be from life and experience”; aims at developing the colorful culture with the unique features of our school; and makes efforts in trying and innovating in the following aspects: management of modern school, the construction of the ranks of teachers and the application of the mode of modern education. Especially, the establishment of the colorful communities, which include the calligraphy, dancing, Latin dance, aeromodelling , archery, etc. is the good bits of the campus life.
