Unit7 After school 南通市跃龙桥小学 邵燕Teaching aims and learning objectives:By the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:1. scan the text and find out : what are the students doing after school? 2. get to know the meaning of “after, class, join, study, look for” both in spoken and written forms, and pronounce them clearly;3. use structures like : Are you _ing? Yes, I am./No, I am not. Yes, we are./No, we arent. Is he/she _ing? Yes, he/she is. No, he/she isnt.Are they_ing ? Yes, they are.No, they arent. 4. use what they have learned to introduce their after-school activities.Focus of the lesson:1. Understanding the dialogue well and get the details about the students after-school activities.2. Using the simple questions of present continuous tense to talk about the activities after school.3. Expressing themselves freely.Predicted area of difficulty:1. Pronunciation, meaning and usage of some words.2. Usage of talking about after-school activities in present continuous tense.Teaching procedures:Step1 Lead-in1. Greet students.2. T: Were having an English lesson. Guess: What is Gao Shan doing now?T: He can do these after school. Would you like to play with Gao Shan after school? We can say Ill go and join him.Aim: 用我们正在上课,引导学生猜测高山正在做某事,既复习了现在现在进行时的陈述句和表示活动的短语,又引出了主人公,进而引出本课主题“after school”自然导入了句子: Ill go and join him. Step3. Presentation1 Listening the readingWhats Gao Shan doing in fact? Listen to the narration and check your answer. .Whats Gao Shan doing? Compare look for findWhy is he looking for Wang Bing? Classes are over.Read the narration together.Aim: 该部分介绍了对话背景,介绍短语look for并与 find比较,达到温故知新的目的。同时呈现句子Classes are over.2 Watching the videoWheres Wang Bing? Guess: Perhaps hes inAim: 巩固日常用语Perhaps hes in也为下文埋下伏笔。Watch the video and answer: Wheres Wang Bing? Who else can you see? Yes, they are.No, they arent.Talk about the table using simple questions of present continuous tense and do exercises.Aim: 介绍了现在进行时一般疑问句的表达方式,并用课文内容操练,这样达到了操练句型和巩固课文内容的双重效果,一举两得。 Retell the main idea.Can you understand the text? Would you like to talk about it?Aim: 至此学生对前言及课文的主要大意已有了解并初步掌握,此活动趁热打铁,训练学生运用已学知识来概括文章大意。 Read after the tape. Read after the video. Play a dubbing game.Aim: 通过三种由易到难的不同形式的朗读方式,培养学生的语音语调,提高朗读水平,更深入地整体理解课文,提高学生的兴趣。 Complete the passage.Aim: 在整体理解全文内容的基础上,让学生根据课文内容填空,帮助他们全面深刻地掌握课文内容,同时对重点单词、短语的拼写及现在进行时的结构及动词变换等都有训练,也对学生的写作能力的培养打下基础。Step4 PracticeShow two topics and choose one to make a dialogue . 放学后,你找Nancy玩。在图书馆碰见Helen,Helen说Nancy在音乐教室弹钢琴。你决定去找Nancy。 I: Excuse me, Helen. Is in the library? H: No, shes not. shes in,I think.I : Is sheing?H : Perhaps she is.I : Ill go and join her. 放学了,你正要去图书馆,路上遇见了Tom。他要去操场,刘涛和王斌在那儿踢足球。你改变了主意,决定和Tom一起去踢足球。 I: Where are you going, Tom?T: Im going to Are you going to?I: No, Im not. Im going to are there. T: Are theying? I: Yes, they are. T: Ill go and join them.I: Ok, lets go.Aim: 出示的两种情境与课文的两个对话情境非常相似,让学生两两组合或四人小组合作自编对话。提高学生口头表达能力,巩固所学内容。该活动也能培养学生的小组合作的能力和互相学习、互相帮助的意识。Step5.ConclusionShow some pictures and tell the students: we should keep the balance among study , rest and play. Herere some tips for you. Tips:1. Finish homework in time.2. Have a good rest.3. Dont watch TV too much.4. Dont play computer games too long.5. Do healthy and meaningful activities.Youd better make a plan for your after-school activities.Aim: 教育学生要享受课余生活的同时更要合理安排课余生活,做到劳逸结合、健康快乐。Step6.Homework1. Read the text fluently.2.
