Lead-in and preparation for reading 5Show the students some beautiful pictures about our present cities. And then let them close their eyes and imagine what our future city will be like:1. Fast reading 12In this step, the students will have a brief understanding of the text, and they have to finish two tasks.Task 1 General idea 2The students will be asked to just look at the title and the pictures of the passage, and then guess what the text is talking about. And finish exercise1 on page2.Task 2 Main idea of each part 10Ask students to read the passage as quickly as they can, then ask them find out topic sentence, divide the passage into two parts, and summarize the main idea of each part.Topic sentence: What will the city of the future look like?Part1 (para1): What will the city of the future look like?Part2 (para2-11): How will the students run a city in the future?Methods: self-dependent learning method, task-based language teaching Purpose: To train the students self-dependent learning ability and have a brief understanding of the passage.Step 3.
