精品文档Dear Professor: This letter of recommendation is for Kaihua Liu, a young man I have had the pleasure of knowing for the last 36 months. As a Professor of Specialized Course and Vice Dean of Department of Material Science and Engineering, I have come in contact with thousands of college students. Among them, Mr. Kaihua Liu is a very extraordinary one because of his excellent comprehensive quality and ability to work independently, personality and what is more, his academic spirit.During his stage of college, he has acted as my research assistant for three years. In generally, it is hard for someone to be good at studies and academic research. Fortunately, as his advisor, I am pleased to find that both works he did far exceed what is called good. He always works hard in the lab to help me collect research report, conduct his own experiments and maintain the instruments. Maybe one more example will demonstrate his commitment more clearly. Once he synthesized the bismuth ferrite (BiFeO3) films by the electrophoretic deposition method which not only we have not used but only having little report. In order to finish the work, he searched possible relevant information on his research. There is no doubt that he made it after hundreds of failure. During this process, his ability to think and analyze data is greatly improved and he has published the two papers as the first author. As to his personality, I would like to say Mr. Liu is a warm-hearted, honest and upright student. He was always ready to help the others. During my lectures, many students got confused at some points and I could always see Mr. Liu help them during breaks. Besides his research, personality, I think I should bring up the overwhelmingly strong point of Mr. Liu-his academic spirit. Although I know that it is hard to define what is called academic spirit, Mr. Liu does prove it through his independence on his research, innovative perspective, unique capacity for analytical thinking and commitment to academic activity. Mr. Lius English is excellent compared with most college students I have ever known. For example, our university and Changwon National University held Academic Exchange Conference on October last year. Mr. Liu was chosen as the only student delegate out of nearly 500 college students who studied in the related department. Whats more, he gave an academic report in English which impressed all the guests and audiences. Therefore, I am sure that he will adapt to the rigors of graduate school life in Korea without any great difficulty. Finally, I would like to conclude my recommendation as follows: frankly, Mr. Liu is not a genius, but I promise his great intelligence, commitment to work and his kind nature will impress you deeply.
