from the indicated directory Start the Quick Surface Reconstruction workbench 1 Create a first scan at the symmetry plane a Click on the Planar sections icon b Select the tessellation c Click on the Flip to XZ button d Activate the contextual menu of the plane manipulator e Select the Edit option f Set the Y coordinates to 0 g Click the Close button h Check the Grouped into one element option i Click on the Apply button j Click on the OK button 2 Create a second scan by isoslope computation a Click on the Slope analysis icon b Select the tesselation c Click on the Flip to X button d Set the Filter value to 250 e Check the Distinct option f Click on the OK button 3 Create a third scan by planar section a Click on the Planar sections icon b Select the tessellation c Click on the Flip to XY the Close button h Check the Distinct option i Click on the Apply button j Click on the OK button 4 Create a last scan by planar sections a Click on the Planar sections icon b Select the tessellation c Click on the Flip to XY button d Activate the contextual menu of the plane manipulator e Select the Edit option f Set the Z coordinates to 0 g Click the Close button h Check the Distinct option i body and name it Curves creation You can also load the file End step1 CATPart from the indicated directory 1 Create curves from the scan on the symmetry plane a Click on the Curve from scan icon b Select the first created scan c Set the Accuracy value to 0 5 d Set the Degree value to 6 e Set the Number value to 20 f Activate the Smoothing creation mode g Set the Split angle value to 45 h Add two splitting points below the top fillet and before the handle fillet with point continuity i Add one splitting point below the fillet handle with point continuity Quick Surface reconstructionDetailed Steps COPYRIGHT DASSAULT SYSTEMES 6 j Add 4 splitting point at the bottom of the bottle with Tangent continuity k Add one splitting point below the fillet handle with point continuity l Add 2 splitting points as shown with point continuity Total splitting points should look like this m Click on the Apply button n Click on the OK button 2 Create a curve from the second scan a Click on the Curve from scan icon b Select the scan created by isoslope c Set the Split Angle value to 90 d Remove all the splitting points using the Remove split option of the contextual menu of each point Quick Surface reconstructionDetailed Steps COPYRIGHT DASSAULT SYSTEMES 7 e Remove both extremities using the Remove split option of the contextual menu of each extremity f Add one splitting point on the scan below the top fillet and before the top intersection scan g Add one splitting point on the scan below the bottom intersection scan h Set the accuracy value to 1mm i Set the Order value to 4 j Click on the Apply button k Click on the OK button 3 Create a curve on the top scan a Click on the Curve from scan icon b Select the third scan created c Set the Accuracy value to 0 5mm d Click on the Apply button e Click on the OK button 4 Create a curve on the last scan Quick Surface reconstructionDetailed Steps COPYRIGHT DASSAULT SYSTEMES 8 a Click on the Curve from scan icon b Select the last scan created c Add splitting points with tangent continuity as shown d Click on the Apply button e Click on the OK button 5 Hide all the scans 6 Trim all the curves created a Click on the Curves slice icon b Select all the curves using a trap c Click on the More button d Set the Max distance to 2mm e Click on the Apply button to preview the intersecting points f Click on the OK button 7 Delete the two curves in the handle 8 Start the Wireframe and Surface design workbench 9 Create a blending curve in the left handle area a Click on the Connect curves icon b Select the extremity point of the top curve c Select the extremity point of the bottom curve Quick Surface reconstructionDetailed Steps COPYRIGHT DASSAULT SYSTEMES 9 d Reverse the blending direction if necessary e Click on the OK button 10 Create a blending curve in the right handle area a Click on the Connect curves icon b Select the extremity point of the top curve c Select the extremity point of the bottom surfaces creation create a new open body and name it Surfaces creation You can also load the file End step2 CATPart from the indicated directory 1 Create extruded surfaces to be used as tangency constraints a Click on the Extrude icon b Select a curve in the symmetry plane c Set the Direction to Y axis d Set the extrusion Limit 1 to 20mm e Reverse the extrusion direction if necessary f Click on the OK button g Repeat the actions a to f for all the curves in the symmetry plane 2 Extrude the middle curve to create a tangency constraint a Click on the Extrude icon b Select the middle curve resulting from the smoothing of the isoslope scan c Set the Direction to X axis d Set the extrusion Limit 1 to 20mm Quick Surface reconstructionDetailed Steps COPYRIGHT DASSAULT SYSTEMES 11 e Reverse the extrusion direction if necessary f Click on the OK button 3 Hide the extruded curves 4 Start the Quick Surface Reconstruction workbench 5 Activate the points of the left half of the bottle a Click on the Activate icon b Activate the Trap option c Activate the Polygonal option d Activate the Inside trap option e Select the tessellation f Define a trap around the points of the left side of the bottle excluding the handle points Quick Surface reconstructionDetailed Steps COPYRIGHT DASSAULT SYSTEMES 12 g Click on the OK button 6 Create a first surface on these points a Click on the Power fit icon b Set the Point gap value to 0 5mm c Select the tessellation d Select the 7 boundary curves for the area to fill Keep the default continuity level for all curves e Click on the Apply button f Click on the OK button 7 Hide the middle symmetry constraint surface 8 Activate the points of right half of the tessellation a Click on the Activate icon b Select the tessellation c Click on the the OK button 9 Create a second surface on these points a Click on the Power fit icon b Set the Point gap value to 0 5mm c Select the tessellation d Select the 7 boundary curves for the area to fill Keep the default continuity level for all curves e Click on the apply button f Click on the OK button 10 Activate all the points of the tessellation a Click on the Activate icon Quick Surface cylinder on the top of the bottle a Click on the Activate icon b Select the tessellation c Create a trap around the top of the bottle d Click on the OK button e Click on the Basic surface recognition icon f Select the tessellation g Activate the Cylinder option h Check the Axis option i Set the Axis values to 0 0 1 j Click on the Apply button k Click on the OK button l Double click on the cylinder m Pull the bottom limit down n Click on the OK button o Double click on the cylinder circle in the tree Quick Surface reconstructionDetailed Steps COPYRIGHT DASSAULT SYSTEMES 15 p Relimit the cylinder to the necessary part for the model reconstruction q Click on the OK button 13 Create a plane on the top of the bottle a Click on the Activate icon b Select the tessellation c Create a trap around the top of the bottle d Click on the OK button e Click on the Basic surface recognition icon f Select the tessellation g Activate the Automatic mode h Click on the Apply button i Orientate and extend the plane as necessary j Click on the OK button 14 Create a plane on the bottom of the bottle a Click on the Activate icon b Select the tessellation c Click on the Activate all button Quick Surface Activate the Plane option i Check the Axis option j Set the plane normal to 0 0 1 k Click on the Apply button l Orientate and extend the plane as required m Click on the OK button 15 Create a free form surface on the left handle a Click on the Activate icon b Select the tessellation c Click on the Activate all button d Define a trap around the left handle points e Click on the OK button f Click on the Power fit icon g Set the Point gap value to 0 5mm h Select the tessellation i Click on the Apply button j Click on the OK button k Click on the Activate icon l Select the tessellation m Click on the Activate all button n Click on the Extrapolate icon o Select the right side boundary of the created surface p Select the last created surface Quick Surface reconstructionDetailed Steps You can also load the file End step3 CATPart from the indicated directory 1 Create a Join with the two main surfaces of the bottle 2 Start the Wireframe and surface workbench 3 Create the top boundary of the join 4 Create the bottom boundary of the join 5 Start the Quick Surface Reconstruction workbench Quick Surface reconstructionDetailed Steps COPYRIGHT DASSAULT SYSTEMES 19 6 Extrapolate the join in the Z direction a Click on the Extrapolate icon b Select the top boundary of the join c Select the Join d Set the Limit type to Length e Set the Length to 4mm f Set the Continuity parameter to Curvature g Click on the OK button 7 Extrapolate the join in the Z direction a Click on the Extrapolate icon b Select the bottom boundary of the join c Select the Join d Set the Limit type to Length e Set the Length to 20mm f Set the Continuity parameter to Tangent g Set the Extremities parameter to Tangent h Click on the OK button 8 Split the geometry by the symmetry plane a Double click on the Split icon b Select the top Cylinder c Select the ZX plane d Click on the Other side button if necessary e Click on the OK button f Select the left handle surface g Select the ZX plane h Click on the Other side button if necessary i Click on the OK button j Select the right handle surface k Select the ZX plane l Click on the Other side button if necessary m Click on the OK button n Select the top planar surface o Select the ZX plane p Click on the Other side button if necessary q Click on the OK button r Select the bottom planar surface s Select the ZX plane t Click on the Other side button if necessary u Click on the OK button v Click on the Cancel button 9 Trim all the elements to get the rough model a Double click on the Trim icon b Select the top cylinder c Select the top planar surface
