They have great curiosity on study, but most of them can not concentrate on one thing for a long time. Therefore, according to their character, we should make our class more interesting to attract them. At the same time, we should intrigue their interest to English. We should practice their oral English continuously. And we should let them know how to use the knowledge in their daily life. 教学内容分析This unit is about traveling. Such a topic is interesting for students and it is practical. Most of the students are interested in this topic. This unit includes words about traveling and sentence structure “if” clause. The “if” clause is a key point and different point for students. We should pay attention to this sentence structure. This passage teaches us some methods to introduce cities and famous sites. Students can introduce their favorite sites according to these methods. Therefore, they can put what they learned into practice. 教学目标Knowledge objectives: 1. Ss get familiar with the vocabulary in this unit.(such as across, area, beauty, center, direction, sightseeing and so on)2. Ss have a better understanding of the sentence structure “if ” clause.Skills objectives: 1. Ss can grasp the main idea and the feature of the text. 2. Ss are able to introduce other sites according to the vocabulary and the sentence structures they have learned in this class.Emotion objectives : To arouse the students interest to different places and cultures.重点1) Ss can grasp the key sentence structure “if” clause.2) Reading skill training: skimming and scanning, intensive reading. 难点1) Ss can comprehend the passage with proper reading skills.2) Ss can introduce different places with key words and key sentence structure “if ” clause. 教具PPT/video/music/cards教法 Task-based Teaching MethodSituational Teaching Method 教师、学生活动纪要设计意图I. Warming upv Warm up by competition ( play a game ) This game is to check the ability of self study and review the words about this unit. Teacher will divide the whole class into six groups. Students are going to look at the teachers mouth shape and let the students guess the word. For example, the teacher pretend to pronounce the word “beauty” and let the students guess.(To let students get familiar with the key words and phrases.)v Warm up by free talk& set a situationThe teacher and the students have a free talk.T: How are you today?S: Im fine, thank you.T:Did you have a trip with your parents/friends?S: Yes, I did.T: If you have 5000 dollars, where will you want to go? (Knowledge objectives: To lead the students to use “if” clause.)S: If I have 5000 dollars, I will go to .T: If I have 5000 dollars, I will go to Shanghai. Today we are going to visit Shanghai, do you want to go with me?(Setting a situation.)S: Yes, of course.T: Lets go!II. Pre-reading1. Watch a video and finish Reading A. Watch a video about traveling. This video includes the Palace Museum, the Bund, West Lake and Ocean.B. Show the pictures of these places on the PPT, then ask students questions: (Finish Reading A)1 Do you know these places? Which cities are they in?2 Which place do you like best? Why?2. Lead-in of the passage A. Show some pictures about Shanghai, including famous sites in Shanghai, famous food in Shanghai and so on. Then let the students have a “brainstorm” . To let students to discuss their impression on Shanghai. B. As a tour guide, the teacher ask “Do you want to learn more about Shanghai?” To check if they have grasped the words in this unit.Through free talk to lead in our topic.At the same time, create a relaxing atmosphere.To lead the students to use “if” clause.Setting a situation can make students have interest to this lesson, and it can also make the class more interesting and real.To arouse students interest to learn this lesson, and finish the exercises in Reading A.Brainstorm can make students have a first understanding of Shanghai.教学设计流程Then the teacher let the students scan the titles and the pictures of the passage, and finish the exercises in Before you read. Then ask the students to discuss the following questions:(Training reading skill.)1. Where is Peoples Square in Shanghai? 2. What can you see along the Bund?3. What happens to the tall buildings in the Pudong New Area at night? 4. Is Yu Garden a modern garden?Step B Read the passage & learn the vocabulary. Let the students read the passage and then work in a group to finish C1 and C2. (Skills objectives:Ss can grasp the main idea and the feature of the text. ) C1: Match the two halves of these sentences to make them meaningful.(To let students get familiar with the key words and phrases.) C2: Complete the conversations with the words and phrase from the box.Step C Read passage carefully & finish Comprehension Let the students read the passage again, then finish Comprehension D1, D2.(Reading skill training: intensive reading .)Step D Retelling the passageThe teacher let other students to be the tour guide to introduce Shanghai. The students are going to introduce Shanghai according to key words and key sentences.( Use the “if” clause. ) In this part, the teacher is going to lead in to the passage and finish the exercises in Reading B.To cultivate the students reading skill. Let the students have a first understanding of this passage.To know the structure and the main idea of the passage and learn the key words.To cultivate the students reading skill.Read the passage again.To cultivate the students ability of getting information according to the pictures and passage.To practice the students speaking English and let them comprehend the structure and main idea of the passage.To let the students to use the key words and key sentences correctly. IV. Post-readingThe students are divided into six groups. The teacher is going to let every student to be a tour guide.
