（二）由关系副词引导的定语从句1，关系副词有：_，_ 及_。eg:（1）, There was a time when there were still slaves in America. = at which there were still slaves in America.（2）, I still remember the day when I first went to Beijing.= _ _I went to Beijing.（3）, This is the place where he works.= _ _he works.（4）, The house where he lived last year has been sold out.= _ _ he lived last year.（5）, There are several reasons why we cant do that. = _ _ we cant do that.小结：（1），由关系副词引导定语从句时，先行词在从句中做_， 而不是主语，宾语或表语；（2），如果先行词是时间时，用_引导从句；是地点时用_引导从句；是reason时，用_引导从句；（3），关系副词分别可以换成_+ which,具体介词由从句或先行词定。 特殊情况:1, 如果先行词是 time / day / morning / afternoon / evening / night / week / month / year等表时间的词时，关系副词 when 还可以用 that 代替，并可以省掉。 eg: We still remember the summer (when/ that) we had the big flood.He will not forget the happy time (when / that) we worked together.2, 以the reason 为先行词的限定性定语从句通常由why for which 引导，也可以用 that 引导，还可以将其省掉。eg: He didt tell me the reason (that) he left so soon.That is the reason （that）he came.3, 以the way 为先行词的限定性定语从句通常由in which 或 that 引导。这时，in which 和 that 的作用相当于关系副词，也可以将其省掉。eg: This is the way in which that he did it.I dont like the way in which that he gets along with the people.关系副词和关系代词的选择：试比较以下例句：1，I know the place where we can swim. I know the place that he is talking about.2，I will remember the days that which we spent together. I will remember the days when we spent our holidays together.3，This is the reason why for which he was late. This is the reason that which he explained to us. 小结：用关系代词还是关系副词引导定语从句主要看关系词在从句中所起的作用。如果从句中的谓语是及物动词或不及物动词与介词构成，而其后又没有宾语，这时要由_引导定语从句。如果定语从句中的谓语动词是不及物动词，或从句中已经有了_，_或_等，也就是说从句中缺状语，要用_引导定语从句。Do the following exercises:1, The museum _he works is in the south of the city. China is a developing country , as is known to all. Liu xiang didnt take part in the 29th Olympic Games,as is reported.2，先行词是such时，由as引导定语从句，并在从句中做_或_。eg: I have never heard such a funny story as he tells. He is not such a fool as he looks. (区别：1,I have never heard such a funny story that I laughed a lot. 2,He is such a fool that his classmates all laugh at him. ) 3，先行词由the same修饰时，既可以由as引导定句，也可以由that引导定语从句,并在从句中做_或_。 eg: She wore the same dress that she wore at Marys wedding. She wears the same dress as her sister is wearing. Tom to
