The English book I like best Everyone has his own favorite book, I am also. The book I like best is Three Days to See written by an American deaf-and-dumb woman author and educator- Helen Keller. It is very positive. I like it very much！Sometimes I have thought it would be an excellent rule to live each day as if we should die tomorrow. Such an attitude would emphasize sharply the values of life. Unit 2 4. A family story A man cant get rich if he takes proper care of his family. family is very important to everybody. Each family has its own happiness, Id love to share my familys happiness with you The Spring Festival is my favorite festival. On that day, we usually get together at my grandparents home. We often have a big dinner with 10 courses. However, the whole chicken, whole duck and the pork leg are not touched any more . Obviously, times have changed. We just pick some delicious seafood. After dinner, I go outside with my cousins. We light fireworks and firecrackers. The dark sky will become colorful. We shout and jump when we see the fireworks shooting into the sky and exploding into leaves and flowers, gold, red, green or purple. Some of my cousins can hold the firecrackers in their hands and light them and then throw them up. The firecrackers crack up in the sky and make all of us laugh heartily. We often play and play until midnight. At that time, all the kids light their fireworks and firecrackers at the same time. The whole sky will be lit up in a moment and happy noise will make whole neighborhood very high with excitement. Now you can see why the Spring Festival is my favorite festival. I like it because of the food, the family gathering and the excitement. 5. My ideal parents My ideal father is like a gentleman. He is polite, cultured(有修养的)， patient， and knowledgeable and strong. Whenever Im in trouble, he is the first one I ask for help, because he always has his way to help me out. He never criticize me because he knows Im still a child. He is always patient enough to hear my complaints and my sorrows as well as my happy experiences. He has a sense of humor to relieve my sadness and great tolerance for my stupid actions. There is no quarrel, no divorce in our family. My ideal parents should respect each other. They just match 6. My father/mother My Father My father is a kind man. He is not very tall but he is a man of perseverance. He works very hard and his services are highly appreciated. My father is a man of devotion. Every morning he gets up the earliest to make breakfast for us. In the evening, he is always the late to come back home. At weekends, he always takes us to go outing in his car. My mother Seeing the title, many stories about my mother are flooding in my head! Mum is forty years old and acts as an ordinary office worker in a company. Step by step, I could walk without anyones help and speak fluently. Mum is kindly and quite easy to get on well with her. She likes watching TV while weaving cloth, also she is interested in climbing mountains. Frequently all my family will have a rest on a hill at weekends. She loves sports so that she stayed at home all days for the 2008 Olympic Games. In my memory, grape is her favorite fruit. She often told us that grape is full of nutrition. Knees and hands touching upon the ground-thats a mothers only and last effort to protect her dear, her only and last struggle for a hope of life, and her only and last chance to demonstrate a love that shocks every normal soul of universe. Kneeling down-the mother seems to give in to the omnipotent nature, but it actually is a way to fight back; Kneeling down-the mother seems to be helpless and powerless, but it is actually so helpful and powerful beyond anything else; Kneeling down-the mothers seems to be a temporary shelter of flesh and blood, but it actually is an eternal statue of love and life. O, oh! This is not only a love demonstrated by a mother of Sichuan; This is also a love that has been nursing Chinese people from one generation to another. If love of a mothers is shown here as a sacrifice for her child, then the children of this great China should by all means sacrifice themselves to love the motherland in return, here and now! Cant you hear a Mothers CRYING and CALLING? Cant you see a Mothers STRUGGLING and FIGHTING? Cant you remember a Mothers SUFFERING and LOVING? Lets always remember a mothers special love in earthquake. Lets always remember the motherlands eternal love Do you have any regrets in the relationship with your parents or friends? What are they? I have some regrets in the relationship with my parents. Thats might be generation gap. Sometimes, Ill be angry with my parents without any reasons, and I think their thinking are drop behind. Sometimes, I would not agree to my parents though I know its right. I want to be free and far way from my parents. After going to university, I found that Im wrong. Why Im always angry with my parents, and they have not any complain with me? Because they love me, thats real love! Unit 4 How to make a good impression First impression is always the most important thing when you meet a stranger.It takes just a quick glance, maybe three seconds, for someone to understand you when you meet for the first time its important to create a good first impression to make a good impression, we have to have deep confidence in ourselves. The next thing is your appearance. Although physical appearance seems to be more important nowadays, dont get upset if you are not born pretty/ handsome. Try presenting yourself appropriately, Make sure that you look clean and tidy as this help to make a good impression. Well, the most important thing is a smile. “Smile and the world smiles too.” A warm and confident smile will put both you and the other person at ease. You have to look sincere and true while you are smiling. Besides , attitude is also what counts in a good impression. Stay positive, courteous and dont criticizes people or make sarcastic comments because this will spoil your image. 8. How to prepare for interviews First, you should look up for some information about the company and job you want to apply for, what skills this position call for, and how to take part in appointment interviews. Then, you have sign up, make sure the time and place of interview. The day you going to take part in the interview, you have to be confident in yourself. If you are calm and confident, the other person will feel more at ease and this makes a solid foundation of a good first impression. The next thing is your appearance. First of all, we should consider the content of the speech, what things do you want to talk about, is it interesting, and so on. Secondly, you should consider the length of the speech which you want to give. it should not too long in case of bore others. too short is certainly not good. Last but not least, speak confidently. just remember be confident whenever and wherever you are. there are other considerations about how to make a public speech, I think the things i mentioned above are the most important ones. thank you! How to spread aids information on campus AIDS, an epidemic that has taken the lives of tens of thousands of people since its origin, is rapidly spreading across the world, and China is no exception. Nowadays the menace of AIDS is felt even on university and college campus in our country. It is imperative to spread AIDS knowledge on campus and help fellow students understand the danger of this deadly disease. Here are the five tips I want to suggest on how to spread AIDS information on campus: 1. Publicity campaign to spread the knowledge about AIDS and HIV infections though campus radio or publications 2. If my best friend were an aids victims At first, you should respect you friend, and have Sympathetic attitude. You should encourage your friend as much as possible. Talk with you friend you will be caring for, Ask them what they need. Learn the skills you need to take care of someone and how to manage special situations. At the same time, take care of yourself. You also need to know whom to call for help or information and when to call them. Make a list of doctors, nurses, and other people you might need to talk to quickly, their phone numbers, and when they are available. Keep this list by the phone. 11. In the face of fatal diseases We are like sailors in the high seas of life. Difficulties are like wind and storms that often come to us. We cannot change them but we can confront them. Even if people are in the face of a fatal disease, they can choose their own ways to react and still be successful. Helen Keller is a great example for us. She became blind and deaf at a very young age. But she did not give up her life. Through extremely hard work she became the first deaf blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. She was also a famous author, political activist and lecturer. From her success we can learn that diseases can be fatal but can never stop us from success. We can choose our own life regardless of any difficulties in life. Unit 6 12. All work is honorable All work is honorable, for any people, labor is not only a living thing, is to serve the public, a manifestation of contributing to society, labor is no distinction or distinction, we need to address the value of labor. 13. Preparation for my dream job Before anything else, getting ready is the secret to success. You need to take stock and see clearly where you stand in terms of skills, knowledge experience, attitude compared to where you need them to be. Once you see the gap, you can start to build a bridge to span it. 14. If I were a teacher /writer/ actor If I were a actor I want to be an actor, for one reason, the actor have high reward so that I can get qualitys life. for another reason, i dream of going to Hollywood, if I can be an actor ,maybe someday Ill be there and even i can get Oscar, thats I v been dreaming, in addition, i think the actors life is very colorful If I were a teacher If I were a teacher now, I would not teach students only from lessons. I would lead them play with me .We would play guessing games and practicing things from them。Students could be clever than before and they could learn a lot of things that they dont know before. We could play football. When we were playing they could be stronger and healthier than before and they could learn how to act as a team. We would play everything we like. Everybody would be happy. They wouldnt let class over Unit 7 15. Should a citizen be allowed to have a gun? Probably not, it is widely known that, there are several murders cases happened in the US. Most of the murderers have mental problems. Sounds terrible and scary, is it? Im using the truth to show everyone that having a gun may give freedom, but which is exchanged by murders, hurts or fighting. Look at our country, weve been living peaceful life without the policy of allowing to have a gun. And we are going to live like this continually. Also, it suits our traditional culture which is nice, civilization and friendly. I cant see anything wrong with it. If youre interested in shooting, you can join a shooting club, which offers better shooting conditions than holding a gun individually. Overall, it is not really necessary for citizens to hold a gun.
