Finally,she realizes the dream of having a pair of beautiful blue eyes after praying day and night. But she finds that she still cant get rid of tragic fate.This article aims to analyze Pecolas tragedy,of which the formation and the cause reflect deterioration of culture and American social moral corruption. .Blue eye is a symbol of upper class and being respected,at the same,it is a standard of beauty. Blue is the white eye color, implicating the white identity in essence. In the United States where is rich in material but barren in spirit,the black see the world and themselves with a pair of blue eyes in ideology.The heart is distorted, and spirit gradually goes to desert. Incest and wrong sexual values, distant relatives, cruel society, ugly people .Pecola,a typical example,never has being to make themselves relatively beautiful by hurting Pecola,who never has beauty,because the whole social identities the white aesthetics.White discrimination against the blacks and black self-discrimination give a further blow to the black heart world and cant help going into abyss.
