5、the reputation of companies and have a leading role in competitive bus in ess society .In order to build a good image and get more deals, compa nies should take the bus in ess etiquette of bus in ess in tercourse into con siderati on and respect differe nt culture backgro unds , such as the etiquett

6、e of bus in ess recepti on, the etiquette of bus in ess visit, the etiquette of prese nting gifts in differe nt coun tries. By lear ning and obey ing a variety of bus in ess etiquette on differe nt bus in ess occasi ons and in differe nt coun tries, we can establish rather Ion g-term relati on ship

7、with our bus in ess part ners who come from differe nt coun tries. Here I will mainly in troduce the etiquette of bus in ess recepti on and discuss norms of recepti on etiquette. Key Words: busi ness etiquette; receptio n; norm商务接待礼仪摘要:随着中国经济的飞速发展,国家之间的往来也变得越来越频繁。面对激烈的商业竞 争,很多商人希望让更多的合作伙伴了解公司的信誉,在竞争

8、激烈的商业社会中发挥主导作用。为了建立良好的形象,获得更多的交易,公司应该考虑商务礼仪的商务交往,尊重不同的文化背景,如在不同国家的商务接待礼仪、商务考察礼仪、馈赠礼仪。通过学习和遵守在不同的商务场合和在不同的国家各种商务礼仪规范,我们可以与来自不同国家的商业伙伴建立长期的合作关系。在这里我将主要介绍商务接待的礼仪并且讨论接待礼仪的行为规范。 关键词:商务礼仪;接待;规范1. An overview of etiquette on businessIn moder n commodity and market economy, bus in ess in tercourse has become very com mon, therefore every of us should know and lear n so

11、me kno wledge about etiquette of bus in ess in tercourse in differe nt coun tries. However, the content of bus in ess in tercourse is extremely abundant and the range is very exte nsive. The kno wledge about etiquette of bus in ess in tercourse is rather abundant, because each country has its own sp

12、ecial etiquette. The process of bus in ess etiquette is to tell us what we can do and how we should do in com muni cati ng with others. If we do in a decorous way, we will build a long and pleasa nt relati on ship with our future clie nts and customers. When we communicate with others, it is of impo

Moreover, our quality will be improved and life will be beautified if we are in good comma nd of these useful bus in ess etiquette of bus in ess in tercourse .Besides these, it can quicke n the social in teract

14、io n, improve the pers onal relati on ship and purify the social atmosphere.2.1The function of business etiquetteWith the deep developme nt of market society, all kinds of bus in ess in tercourse are on the rise. Busin ess etiquette has become more and more sig ni fica nt and plays a more importa nt

The function of bus in ess etiquette is to enhance quality and image, establish stable and frie ndly relati on ship and main tai n the good image of en terprises and pers on. Moreover, bus in ess etiquette crystallizes feeli ngs and con ciliates pers onal relati on

If men who en gagi ng in doing bus in ess observe the prin ciples of bus in ess etiquette on their own in itiative and restrict themselves, they will communicate well, respect for one another ,trust each other and promote bus in ess. So bus in ess etiquette is a comb ined embodime nt of compa

17、ni es, culture and employers, on ly do we follow bus in ess etiquette, the image and culture of compa ny will be improved to a more satisfy ing level.2.2The types of business intercourseBusin ess in tercourse is very com mon and ple ntiful in competitive society. It is divided into three kin ds: bus

In deali ng with bus in ess, we ofte n run into these bus in ess in tercourses, it is very useful for us to lear n some kno wledge about bus in ess etiquette. The etiquette varies from coun tries to coun tries.2. 3Et

19、iquette of business receptionThe etiquette of bus in ess recepti on is the behavior of bus in ess pers onnel who en gag ing in bus in ess recepti on activities should be observed. In creas ing competiti on and a full range of in terpers onal com muni cati on en courage us to cha nge and perfect the

20、curre nt bus in ess etiquette in order to establish a suitable and modern commercial societys new etiquette. At the same time, the cha nging of social culture, economy and tech no logy make the etiquette of bus in ess receptio n has become more and more sig ni fica nt.What should we do when we meet

21、our guests at the first time in bus in ess receptio n? It is welcome. Welcome is the form of the most basic and importa nt link in the social com muni cati on reception activities. It can express master friendliness and courtesy. Especially meeting, what is the most importa nt thing is to leave a go

22、od impressi on on the guest. The reas on is that a first good impressi on tends to become a lasti ng impressi on and decides whether the bus in ess will succeed or fail. Moreover, a nice impressi on will become the long affect ion, caller first impressi on depe nds on the proprieties and attitudes o

23、f desk clerk .Therefore, each enterprise supervisor and every employee should have a good kno wledge of bus in ess recepti on etiquette to deal with bus in ess.3. The behavior of reception personnelWhat do the qualities we should own as recepti on pers onn el? The recepti on pers onnel must be artic

24、ulate, generous and have decent behavior. For women, they should avoid wearing too many decorati ons and cosmetic should be elega nt as much as possible. Different coun tries have differe nt requireme nts of clothes. In China, wome n should n ot wear reveali ng clothes. If we go to Tessie country, w

25、e must not wear the cross. The reason is that people believe in Catholicism and the cross means ominous which makes them very un happy and thi nk that we donrespect theirculture.If the visitor is an important guest who has made an appointment in advanee, we should determine the corresponding recepti

26、on specifications and programs according to the visitors status, identity. Receiving general visitors in the office ask us to listen more, speak less.4. The etiquette of introductionBusin ess recepti on starts from in troduct ion as all bus in ess activities begi n from bus in ess receptio n. It is

27、divided in to on e-to-one in troduct ion and on e-to-ma ny in troduct ion. If con sideri ng the two parties are present, we can also divide the introduction into two ways: introduction of others and self-introduction. The first impression through introduction plays a critical role in the bus in ess

28、in tercourse.A good or bad in troducti on directly affects our first impressi on on people. In bus in ess in tercourse, some small etiquette should be paid atte nti on inself in troduct ion. If a bus in essma nhas been introduced earlier to a client at the first time, it is rather difficult to remem

Keep in mind that when we first introduce our institutions and departments to the guests, dont forget to use full name.As a receptionist, introduction of others is also a way of acquainting with people who meet each other at the first

31、time. Introduction of other people usually not only can improve the cooperation and friendship, but also can reflect the ability of reception staffs. Introduction of others have its own etiquette. In traditional social situations, a man is always introduced to a woma n and the young to the elder. Ho

32、wever, i n bus in ess in tercourse, the seque nee of in troduct ion is gen erally decided by the positi on from high to low . If two people are in equal rank, a man should be in troduced earlier to a woma n, and a youn ger pers on to an older pers on. In a word, the other role of in troduci ng other

33、 people is that whe n you con duct an in troduct ion, you should give some related information about the two sides. The image of the reception staff represents enterprise s image, so when we establish a good image, we build the good image of our enterprise at the same time.However, differe nt coun t

34、ries are fond of differe nt in troduct ions which are in flue nee by their culture. In China, people prefer to formal in troduct ion un der the in flue nee of Con fucia ni sm. Take for example. If we want to introduce to other people in English , we should say ,this is Mr. Zhang, Man ager of the com

35、pa ny. However, En glish prefer in formal in troduct ion. They are very fond of using their first name in the procession of introduction. If we plan to introduce Maris Read to Rose Nia, we can say, Rose Nia, we would like to have a meeting with Maris Read. Not only these, but also Chin ese pay more

36、atte ntio n to use some subject words to in troduce a pers on which sounds formal in bus in ess occasi on. While En glishme n give more emphasis on objective words to in troduce a pers on.5. The etiquette of shaking handsShak ing hands is a way of com muni cati on and shows frien dli ness, trust and

37、 respect. In bus in ess in tercourse, shak ing hands is a reflect ion of frien dli ness and cooperati on. Similarly, shaking hands also has its own etiquette.5.1 The occasion and object of shaking handsThe occasi on of shak ing hands also has its own etiquette. We should shake hands in these followi

38、 ng several occasi ons, such as, meeti ng or tak ing leave to visitor; after visiti ng some one, in troduci ng parties who know each other.In fact, Chinese have a habit of nodding and shaking hands to show their friendliness. Different country has differe nt habits. Like Europea ns, they love to hug

39、 and kiss which is6unaccepted by the traditional cultural countries to welcome guests; Australia Maori greet by touch ing their no ses; French are accustomed to shak ing hands or knee ; In dia n like to touch the foot rite, especially the youn ger gen erati on meet elders; But the Japa nese take off

40、 their hats and bow to show courtesy. In the final an alysis, the culture has an in flue nee on habit. But as com muni cati on betwee n coun tries is in creas ing con sta ntly, we have learned to respect differe nt habits of people who come from differe nt coun tries. In a word, when you are in Rome

41、 do as Rome does- respect the etiquette habit of host coun try. If an In dia n has a visit to Europea n ad he did not respect Europea n coun tries equette, it is possible to make a fool of on eself and cause jokes, especially in the big occasi ons like summit meet ing.5.2 The strength of shaking han

42、dsThere are some rules about how much force we should use in shak ing han ds. There are some differences in China and foreign countries. Please look at the case: Chinese delegates and Un ited States represe ntatives first meet in Beijing, whe n shak ing han ds, these Chin ese represe ntatives shake

43、gen tly with han ds, Un ited States represe ntatives are very glad. Because they all think weak ness shows Chin ese represe ntatives have no con fide nce in n egotiati on and they have much cha nce in succeedi ng .But whe n n egotiat ing, Un ited States represe ntatives was surprised to find that Ch

44、in ese represe ntatives are not only not weak, but very con fide nt, and have good skills in n egotiat ing. Afterwards they know, shak ing hands gen tly at the first time of meeti ng is Chin as habits and has no relati on with con fide nce or compete nce. It seems esse ntial for bus in essme n to un

45、 dersta nd differe nt culture etiquette betwee n differe nt coun tries. In gen eral, the America ns and Russia ns have a firm han dshake, and han dshake of the Europea n is lighter, and the Arab shake hand lightly with only a slight fluctuation move. After several rounds in the negotiations, the str

46、ength of handshake between rivals can become stronger to express their trust and hope. Un willi ng to shake hand, can express their dissatisfacti on and disappo in tme nt about the decisi on or behavior. As for how much stre ngth we should use in shak ing han ds, the intern ati onal bus in ess does

But according to diplomatic practice, the strength of shaking hands is gen erally con trolled at 2 kg.5.3 The taboos of shaking handsAs the old say ing goes, winds are differe nt with in 100 miles; customs are various with in 10 miles. Different customs and habits are diff

48、ere nt in coun tries and culture backgro und. In order to make bus in ess success, we must follow practice-do as the Roma ns do. So whe n shak ing han ds, we should pay atte nti on to the follow ing taboos .1) We should not glance around when shaking hands with the foreigners. The first taboo we sho

49、uld pay more atte ntio n is that you cannot greet others while shak ing hands with some people. Especially in western countries, people will regard this as an absent-minded and impolite behavior, even look down upon them. No one is willing to cooperate with people of that kind.2) Shaking hands with

As in some coun tries where people believe in Muslim, left hands and right hands are distinguished clearly. For example, if one uses his left hand to be engaged in doing works, such as sig nature, shak ing

In a sense, the etiquette of shaking hands not only repres

53、ents the personal image, but also the image of enterprise, sometimes even the image of the natio n.6. The etiquette of exchanging cardsCards are a com muni cative way in bus in ess in tercourse. By excha nging cards, we can know some in formati on: n ame, address, positi on, telepho ne nu mber and s

54、o on. In bus in ess in tercourse, excha nging cards has some etiquette.Firstly, the etiquette of deliveri ng cards. We should excha nge cards before or after meeti ng whe n havi ng a meeti ng. Don texcha nge cards duri ng the meeti ng or com muni cati on. When delivering cards, we must observe some

55、rules: delivering it to the people who are superior. If one status is inferior, he should deliver cards actively. When one visits some people, he doesn cards un til the superior in troduce them.Secon dly, the etiquette of receivi ng cards.Whe n people offer cards, we should sta nd to accept them wit

56、h courtesy and express thank you to them. If possible, read it quietly and speak their positi on s, job departme nts or say some words to show your admirati on. Moreover, whe n receivi ng people cards, we should deliver our cards and say some words: like “ pleasiake care, keep contact ”.Fin ally, do

57、n t spam cards everywhere. The reas on is that this ki nd of behavior will leave a bad impressi on on people and they think we look dow n upon them. Don t ask some one for cardsat the first of meeting. They will regard us are frivolous persons. Don t put other s caiWe can put cards in the in side po

58、ckets of suits. Keep in mind: don t throw it on the table. Becausit shows we don t care about it at all. Moreover, gentlen had better not ask ladies for cards. Itwill cause trouble and misun derstood.However, bus in ess people from differe nt coun tries have differe nt etiquette to obey. Chin ese people and the western people have a lot of com mon ways in offeri ng and receivi ng bus in ess cards in bus in ess occasi ons. Chin ese people put more emphasis on using of bus in ess cards tha n the westerner. Chinese people like listing all their titles, even some titl
