(2) We must save the trees and not buy things made of ivory. 3. 能读懂有关动物描述的英文短文。 4. 能根据阅读语篇内容构建思维导图。 5. 了解濒危动物。理解动物和

2、人类都生活在同一地球上,动物是我们的朋友。我们人类应该与动物和谐相处,共同生存。我们应当学会关爱动物,保护动物。 二、教学重点及难点 重点:通过阅读短文来了解世界各地的动物的情况,开阔学生们的眼界。 难点:阅读短文获取相关信息。 三、教学准备 教师:教学课件;多媒体设备 学生:课前预习 四、教学过程 Step 1 Warming-up Make an interview Work in groups and make an interview about animals.T: Interview your group members about the animals they like an

3、d dont like in your groups, and fill in the table with the information you get. Then have a report as follows: A likes tigers. He/She thinks tigers are very cool and smart. But he/she doesnt like. He/She thinks. B likes. He/She thinks. But he/she doesnt like. 【设计意图】通过采访小组成员记录并作报告,帮助学生复习之前学过的动物名称和描述动

4、物的词语。 Step 2 Pre-reading New words and expressions Look at the pictures and learn new words and expressions. T: You have previewed the words and expressions for this class. Now lets check. Look at the picture, and then tell me the word or expression it shows. 【设计意图】通过看图片检查学生预习新词汇的效果,帮助学生们巩固新词汇,为后面的

We can learn from the change of the flag that the elephant is important in Thailand. T: Are elephants in great danger? Le

Post-reading Lets learn Introduce the reading skill, and help Ss to learn how to find the key sentences. 【设计意图】通过学习阅读技巧,了解如何抓住中心句的方法,帮助学生提高阅读速度、培养阅读能力。 Work on 2c 1. Tell the students

11、 to look at the map in 2c. There are four boxes around the word “Elephant”. The first box is about the importance of the elephants in Thailand. The second box is about the abilities of the elephants. The third box is about the facts and figures of the elephants. The last box is about how to save the

12、 elephants. 【做题指导】 (1) 认真看一遍这四个表格,明确每个表格是关于大象的哪个方面的情况。 (2)然后,再读短文一遍,找到相关的内容的依据。仔细读相关内容,分析空格处应当填写的单词。比如:第一个方框中讲大象在泰国的重要性,通过读短文可知依据应是短文的第一段。由最后两句话“我们的第一国旗上面有一只白色的大象,这是好运的象征。”可知第一个空格处应填写elephant;第二个空格处应填luck。其他与此类似。 (3) 最后,再读自己所填写的空格及依据,看是否有错误。 2. The elephant is one of Thailand symbols.

14、one of 后接可数名词复数或复数代词的宾格,意为“之一”。作主语时谓语动词用单数形式。 symbol是一个名词,意为“象征”。常用短语a/the symbol of.表示“的象征” 2. People say that “an elephant never forgets”. ,其后可以直接跟名词作宾语,也可以跟动词不定式或者动词,意为“忘记,遗忘”forget 动名词;反义词为remember。 【辨析】forget to do sth.与forget doing sth. 【辨析】leave与forget 3. Elephants can walk for a long time an

15、d never get lost. lost作为形容词,意为“走失的,迷路的,失散的”,常与系动词be或者get连用,表示“丢失,走失,迷路”。 sb. get/be lost (1) 表示“某人迷路时” 。=lose ones way (2) 表示“某物丢失了,遗失了”。 4. But elephants are in great danger. danger名词,意为“危险”。 be in (great) danger 意为“处于(极大的危险中)” out of danger 意为“脱离危险”。 dangerous形容词,意为“危险的”,反义词为safe,意为“安全的”。 5. Peopl

16、e cut down many trees so elephants are losing their homes. cut down cut动词,意为“砍,切”,cut down意为“砍倒”,宾语是名词时,可以放在两者之间,也可以放在后边,当宾语是代词时,只能放在两者之间。 cut down +n. cut +n +down cut it/them down cut trees down= cut down trees 6. Today there are only about 3,000 elephants (over 100,000 before). over (1) 为介词,有“超过,

17、多于”的含义, 相当于more than。 (2) 还可以表示“在垂直上方” (3) 作副词,表示“完了,结束”,常作表语。 常见短语: go over 检查 all over 遍及;整个 over and over 反复 over there 在那边 7. We must save the trees and not buy things made of ivory. save (1) 动词,此处意为“拯救,救助”,后接名词或代词作宾语。 save ones life 意为“挽救某人的性命”。 (2) 还可以意为“储蓄,储存” (3) 还可以意为“节约,节省”。 【辨析】be made of
