44、onsistent) o這其中乂有期刊名稱縮寫的問題，常令 人頭痛。通常生物期刊名稱的縮寫都以國際標準組織(International Organization for Standardization) 所訂之期刊名稱縮寫(International List of Periodical Title Word Abbreviation)為基準,早期 此標準刊印於ISO 833-1974,但1979年已被撤銷，如今到ISO網站(査看,我們可發現他們出版了兩本有關出版物及書目的縮寫規則：即1. Information and documentation 一一 Rules for the abbre

45、viation of title words and titles of publications (ISO 4:1997)2. Informstion and documentation -一 Bibliographic description and references 一一 Rules for the abbreviation of bibliographic terms (ISO 832:1994)當然，這都得花錢購買。另外，專門教導論文寫作的 Style Manual for Biological Journals (2nd edition,1966)也列有參考文獻中用字的標準縮寫

46、，而根據的是來自美國標準協會(American Standards Association, Sectional Committee Z39 on Library Work and Documentation) 所訂之標準。U 前許 多期刊也都要求投稿者，文獻中引用的期刊名稱縮寫需參照BioSciences Information Service公司的 Serial Sources for the BIOSIS Data Base volume 1984 來書寫。其實只要記得，將期刊名稱中的前置詞(prepositions)、冠詞(articles)與連接詞(conjunctions) 刪除，再記得單一字的期刊名稱沒有縮寫，其他參考網頁上提供的縮寫 則應可應付各位的困擾。如果還有不知如何縮寫的期刊名稱 麻煩到Bioscience首 頁(中的資料庫，圈選Journal N
