3、 he fell at his feet and pleaded earnestly with him, My little daughter (Greek: thugater) is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live. Interruption! Luke 8:42-48 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no- one could heal he

4、r. She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. Who touched me? Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you. But Jesus said, Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me. T

5、hen the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. Then he said to her, Daughter, your faith (pistis) has healed (sozo) you. Go in peace. 6、wer or her faith? How is Jairus Feeling At This Point? Luke 8:42-48 In the presence of all the people, she (the old woman) told why she had touched him (twelve years bleeding) and how she had been instantly healed. Then he (Jesus) said to her, Daughter (Greek: thugater), your faith (Greek: pistis) h

7、as healed you (Greek: sozo). Go in peace. Jairus then has to continue walking home with Jesus. As he does so, in the midst of his anxiety and desperate fear about his daughter dying, certain words are repeating inside his head. Faith - Not Fear / Anxiety What had Jesus said to the old woman? Daughte

8、r, your faith has healed you. Go in peace. Luke 8:49-50 While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue ruler. Your daughter (thugater) is dead, he said. Dont bother the teacher any more. Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, Dont be afraid; just believe (pisteuo),

9、 and she (your daughter) will be healed (sozo)“. Jesus repeats these same words. Believe (pisteuo) - confidence / trust / faith. Was the woman an unwelcome delay / interruption or a practical demonstration of the exact attitude + internal disposition that Jairus needed to have? i.e. Have the same at

10、titude that the woman had. Where are we placing our confidence / trust? Where Is Your Weight Situated? If Youre Off Your Feet You Are Out Of The Game With God Its The Exact Opposite If your weight of dependency is on yourself, you are in self-reliance, not faith, and God will not use you. Hebrews 11

11、:6 Without faith it is impossible to please God. Romans 14:23 Everything that does not come from faith is sin. Work as if it depends on God! Psalms 127:1 Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labour in vain. Jesus Was Completely Dependent Upon His Father In Heaven John 5:19-20 I tell you th

12、e truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. John 8:28 I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me. John 10:32 I have shown

13、 you many great miracles from the Father. John 14:31 I do exactly what my Father has commanded me. Jesus Secret Was His Relationship With His Father In Heaven John 14:9-10 How can you say, Show us the Father? Dont you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to

14、you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. John 14:16-17 I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counsellor to be with you for ever - the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him

15、, for he lives with you and will be in you. What Kept Jesus Going? John 4:31-33 His disciples urged him, Rabbi, eat something. But he said to them, I have food to eat that you know nothing about. Then his disciples said to each other, Could someone have brought him food? John 4:34 My food, said Jesu

16、s, is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. How does that attitude impact us? What is our daily food? Whatever we need to do the will of God. God is committed to providing this! The Attitude Of Faith Matt 6:25-33 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will e

17、at or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to

18、his life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labour or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into

19、the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, What shall we eat / drink / wear? For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be a

20、dded to you as well. Pagan Prayer vs The Lords Prayer Matthew 6:7-11 When you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. The Lords prayer is set contrary to pag

21、an prayer. This, then, is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. What does it mean? What Is Our Daily Bread? The Lords prayer is a child Father prayer. What child has to ask Father da

God the Father knows your need of food, and Jesus prayer is not about our physical needs including asking daily for natural bread It is about our need for what truly satisfies and sustains us knowing Gods will and doing it. Give us today our daily bread? Daily Bread? Daily
