4、 for university graduates, needy stu dents from rural and urban areas us ually find themselves in relatively inferior positions.Some graduates realize that in order to get a job, they have to sign some “unfair treaties" that promise not to take the postgraduate exam or leave the company within

5、severa 1 years, or they have to pay 5,000 Yuan for breaching the contract. S ome recruiters even declare openly t hat they only need students from fa mous universities, so graduates from other schools are not even entitle d to apply.Currentlythe contradiction in China's highereducation has trans

How to finance our college edu cation has become a matterof concern for many students, especially tho se who are from the remot

13、e areas. Actually,there are many ways tosolve thisproblem. We can get the money from our parents. We can apply for a loan especially set up for college students. We can also acqu ire the money entirely by ourselves, keeping a part-time job in our sp are time and doing a full-time jobin summer and wi

14、nter holidays. Or we can ask our parents for mostof the money and earn the rest in our spare time in college.As far as I am concerned, I preferthe last way. I don't want to depend entirelyon my parents, whichwill be a burden to them. Nor doI want to work in my free time for the tuitionalone, bec

15、ause I would like to have enough time for my school work. If my parents pay most of the tuitionfor me, I willwork part time for the rest and th is, I believe, can make my collegelife rich and colorfulIntroduction of My CollegeI'm a student at Maebashi Institute of Technology in Gunma. It is loc

16、ated between Komagata and Shinmaebashi on the JR Ryomo Line. It's only 10 minutes from JR Maebashi station on a bus or a taxi.Maebit was originally founded in 195 2 as a junior college and it evolv ed into a four-year college in 1997 Today there are some 700 students in both the junior college a

17、nd th e four-year undergraduate school.Our school offerstwo sets of programs, the day course and the evening course. Studentscan choose whichever suitstheirconveniencesbest from those two courses. Many lessons h ere are taughtin small-sized classes.I'm in the Department of Inf ormation Engineeri

18、ng. My field of st udy is Robotics. The first period b egins at 9:30 a.m., which is rather late, and the last period of theday course ends at 4:55 p.m. Theclasses for the evening course beg in at 5:45 p.m. and end at 8:50 p .m.Maebit's campus is not very large but it has a lot of flowerbe ds and

19、 plants. On campus there are the library, the club building, sp orts fields, the student union hall,the laboratory building, and many other facilities. Our department buil ding lies in the northwest corner o f campus. This building was built a bout five years ago, and everything is still new in this

20、 bui lding.There are many clubs, but I'm not a member of any club. One o f my friends is a member of the T ennis Club in which there are 5 me mbers. They practice everyWednesday and Saturday afternoon. They are hoping to make it into the best 8 in the coming intercollegiate tournament.enI like m

I have already made some good friends and we're joying our school life.Coping with Stressin CollegeCollege lifecan be very stressful.Sometimes parents,faculty and others tend toidealize theircollege experienceand remember itas thatidyllictime when theyhad few worries orresponsibilitie

To studentscurrentlyattending college,however,the process is often stressful and frustrating.Thecompetitionfor grades, theneed to perform,relationships, career choice, and many other aspects of the college environment cause stress.But before condemning stress outright , we need to understand that

23、 stressisonly harmfulwhen it isexcessive.Much of the stress thatwe all experience is helpful and stimulat ing.The challenges of lifetend tobe stressful and an attempt toavoid stress completely would lead toa rather boring existence. The pro blem comes when you experience toomuch stress.There are fou

24、r primary sources of stress:the environment, (noise, pollution, traffic, crowding, and the weather), physiology, (illness, injuries, hormonal fluctuations,and inadequate sleep or nutrition),students ' thoughts (negative self-talk, catastroph izing, and perfectionism), and social stressors (finan

25、cial problems, work demands, social events, and losing a lovedone).Symptoms of stressappear in many forms. Some symptoms only impact the person who is dir ectly experiencing stress, while othe r symptoms may have an impact on o ur relationships with others. Altho ugh some stress reactionsare partof

26、deeper and more serious emotionalproblems, many are not,and can be handled with relatively simple cou nseling and stress-management techniques. Developing a balanced lifestyle, gaining perspective by discussing p roblems with other students or tutor s, specifying relaxationtechniques,and clarifying

27、your values and culti vating a sense of lifemeaning canhelp you relieve your stress in c ollege.SportsFrom the earliest times, people have held sports competitions. The athle tic few compete on the field while the restof us participatefrom the safetyof our seats.Todaysportsare certainly as popular a

28、s ever, and because of radio and televisio n, we can now compete from a dista nce.In fact, for important compet itions, the whole world becomes one big stadium. It is hard to sa y why humans likeorganizedgames.The reasons that we enjoy sports pr obably differfrom person toperson.Whether little kidsa

29、re kicking aball around a cityplayground,ormillion-dollar-a-year athletes are p laying in a modern stadium, the exc itement of competition, motion, discipline, and beauty are in the air.Who doesn' tstopto watch a ballgame in thestreet or a swimmer ina pool? What parentsare not proud to see their

For t he players, the joys of sportsmanshi p can include punishing self-discipli ne and the friendship of teammates.Then there is special thrill t hat comes only to a lucky few. 33、 will undoubtedly experience stress as a c ollege student, following these tips may help keep college stress at a minimum before it becomes too hardto handle.Prioritize your schoolwork. Identify what is most important. If you havea presentation to give this Monday , don' t write a one-page revie

34、w th at' sdueina couple ofweeks;prepareforthe presentationfirst.Likewise, if you have an assignment t hat requiresa lot of work, putitat the top of your list.
