由新旧英语三级试卷构成表比较可知，改革后的新题型结构有以下特点：⑴突出语言应用能力的测试新题型删除了词汇语法题，对于词汇语法的测试，大部分放到了阅读理解题中。根据新的教学要求，听力能力要大大加强，具体体现为听力分值将从20%，提高到30%，且内容包括对话、短文。
