Thisoperationinstructionissuppliedtogetherwiththeorderedmotor.Ithasdemonstratedthe
requirementsandthecautionsofthestructure,storageandtransportation,installation,aswellasthe
requirementsandcautionsaboutoperationandmaintenance.Thestipulationsinthisinstructionsandthe
ratingplate,markplate,warningplate,aswellastheoutlinedrawing,shouldbecarefullyreadbythe
professionaltechniciansandstrictlyperformed.Onlywhenprofessionaltechniciansshouldbetrainedand
getqualifiedcertificatescouldtheyworkontheseposts.
Onlythemotorisassembled,operatedandmaintainedstrictlyaccordingtothestipulationsintheoperation
instruction,outlinedrawing,ratingplate,markplate,wiringplateandcautionsplate,doesthewarrantyof
XiangtanMfg.GroupLtd.Comeintoeffect.
Itisimpossibleforthisinstructionholdalltheprobableproblemsoccurringinassembling,runningand
maintenance.Fortheseproblemsnotincludingintheinstructionandtheoutlinedrawing,pleasedirectlycontact
withXiangtanElectricMfg.Group.Ltd.
1GeneralDescription
1.1Theoperationinstructionisappliedtothe3-Phaseasynchronousmotorandthederivedproductsof
H355~630serialforcommonapplication.
1.2Themountingarrangementis1MB3.
1.3Enclosure
Theusualenclosuremodesinclude:IP22,IP23,IPW23,IPW24,IP44,IP54andIP55.
1.4CoolingMode
Theusuallycoolingmodesinclude:IC01,IC11,IC21,IC31,IC37,IC611,IC81W,IC86W.
1.5Rotatingdirection
1.5.1Themarkplateofrotatingdirectionisnailedontheendshieldatshaft-extensionend.Theshaftshould
rotateaccordingtothestipulateddirection,reverseisnotallowed.
1.5.2Themotorwithoutrotatingdirectionmarkplate,wiringsequenceaccordingtothesequenceofphase
U.V.W,shouldrotateclockwiseseenfromtheshaft-extensionend.Itcanrotatecounterclockwise,butmust
reverseafterthemotor’sstop,brakingbyreverselywiringbeforethemotor’sstopisforbidden.
2ConstructionDescription
2.1Formofconstruction
Eitherforsquirrel-cageorwoundtypemotoravarietyofconstructionsmaybeofferedsuchasself-ventilated
type,air-to-airorwater-to-aircoolertype,pipe-ventilatedtypeandexternalfan-ventilatedforcedair-cooled
type.Thetypicalstructuresofmotorsareshownonfig.1,fig.2,fig.3,fig.4,fig.5,fig.6.
2.1.1Fig.7,fig.8,fig.9showthetypicalassemblysamplesofthemotorwithslidingbearingandexternalfan-
ventilatedair-cooledtypemotor.
2.1.2Regardlessofwhichconstructiontypeofmotors,allconsistsofthemaincomponentsofstator,rotor,frame,
endshields,bearingsandterminalbox,etc.
2.1.3Self-ventilatedtypemotorsarefurnishedwithahoodindegreeofprotectionIP23at
theframetop.Accordingtothecustomers’requirements,thetophoodcouldbeindegreeofprotectionofIPW23
andIPW24.
2.1.4Forthetypeofair-aircoolingmotor,onthetopofwhoseframeaair-aircoolerismounted,andatthenon-
shaftextensionortheshaftextensionendanexternalfanandafanhousingaremounted,ortheair-aircooleris
withacoolingfanitself.Fortheoutdoormotoratthecooler’sairoutletafanhousingismounted.
2.1.5Atthetopoftheframeofthewater-aircoolingtypemotor,awater-aircoolerismounted,orwatercooler
iswithacoolingfanitself.
2.1.6Forthepipe-ventilatedcoolingtypemotor,atthetopoftheframe,theairinletandtheairoutletpipeare
mounted,oronlythetopprotectioncoverforeitherofthemismounted.
2.1.7Thereisaslipringmountedonthenon-shaftextensionendofthewound-rotormotor.
2.1.8Normallyamotorhasonlyoneshaftextension,butitcanalsohavetwoshaftextensions.Facingthe
terminalbox,theleftisthemainshaftextensionwhiletherightisthesubsidiaryshaftextension,iftheterminal
boxismountedonanotherside,itisjustonthecontrary.Intheconstruction,thewordof“non-shaftextension
end”referstothesubsidiaryshaftextensionendofthemotorwithtwoshaftextensions.
2.2Frame
2.2.1Statorframeoflifting-intypeisofarectangularbox-shapedconstruction,insideofwhichthereareaxial
ribsforsupportingandsecuringthestator.Thestatorcoreisliftedintotheframefromthetopend,andissecured
inpositionwithanuniformairgapbythelongitudinalribsandstatordamprings.Theframeandthestatorare
tightenedtogetherbybolts.Innerflangeoftheendplatesoftheframe,closelymatchwiththeexternalflangeof
theendshieldstosecureanexcellentairgapuniformity
2.2.2Statorframeofpressingtypemotorisofarectangularbox-shapedconstruction,insideofwhichthereare
radialsupportplatesforsupportingandsecuringstator,thestatorcoreispressedintotheframefromoneendand
issecuredinpositionbystatorclampringsandtheflangeoftheframesupportingplatestosecureanexcellentair
gapuniformity.
2.3Statorcoils
ThestatorcoilsaredoublelayerlapwindingswithclassFinsulationbeingcorona-proofandcapableof
withstandingthevoltageofabove3kV.
2.4Rotorcoils
Rotorcoilsofawound-rotormotorarethedouble-layerwavewindingmadeofrectangularflatcopperbarswith
classFinsulation.
2.5Statorassembly
Thestatorisofaexternalpressstackingconstructionwithmagneticslotwedges,uponrequest,non-magneticslot
wedgesarealsoadopted.Asuitablecontourshapedinsulationmaterialisblockedbetweenendcoilswhichare
bracedtightlytogetherwithendringsandendwindingssupporters.Aftervacuumpressureimpregnatedina
solventlessvarnish,thecompletestatorassemblyresultsinaconsolidatedcorewhichenablestowithstand
vibrationsandtoincreasemoistresistance.
2.6Rotorassembly
2.6.1Squirrel-cagemotorsareprovidedwithcastaluminumrotorwhichisreliableforrunningandavailablefor
severestartingconditionsaswellasfullvoltagelinestarting.Uponrequestacopperbarsquirrelcagemaybe
adopted.
2.6.2Forthewoundrotormotortherotorcoilsarefittedinsemiclosedslotsoftherotorcore,thecoil
connectionsaresolderedinaccordancewiththegivenwiringdiagram,andthebaresectionswrappedwith
insulationtape,thenthecompleterotorisvarnish-impregnatedandstovencured.
2.6.3Rotorshaftweldwithradialribsandcuredbyheattreatmenthasabettermechanicalperformance.
2.7Bearingdevice
2.7.1Rollingbearingdevice
Inordertoincreasethecarryingcapacityofthebearingattheshaftextensionendanditsservicelife,the
rollingbearingdeviceisoftriplebearingconstruction,atdrive-endthemotorisequippedwithtwobearings,one
isaballbearingforwith-standingaxialloadonlyandacylindricalrollerbearingforwith-standingradialload
(betweentheouterraceoftheballbearingandtheinnercircleoftheendshieldnormallyaspaceisreserved
radially).Thenon-driveendhasarollerbearingonly.Therollingbearingdevicealsocanbeofdoublebearing
construction,atdriveendisarollerbearingandnon-driveendisaballbearing.
Forpreventionofbearingracesrotatingmovementoccurringduringthemotor’srunning,theouterrace
isclampedbyapairofflange-typeinnerandouterbearingcapswhicharetightlyfittedwiththeendshieldsor
bearingbush,andtheinnerraceisclampedbyalabyrinthring.
Labyrinthsealsareadoptedforbothdriveandnon-drivebearingdevice,whichcanpreventnotonlythe
greasefromthebearinghouseleakingintothemotorinteriortodamage
thecoilinsulation,butalsotheentryofdustandmoisturecondensationintothebearinghousewherecleannessis
alwayskept.
Thebearingisequippedwithlubricatingpipeandgreaseoutletpipesoastoregreasewithease.
Instructionnameplatefittedontheframeindicatethegreaseinletandoutletandregreasingintervals.Regreasing
anddraininggreasecanbedoneduringthemotor’srunning.
BearingshavetypeofenclosureIP54.UponrequesttheenclosureofbearingscanbetypeofIP55forthe
outdoormotor.
Typeofthebearingsandbrandoflubricantpleaserefertotheoutlinedrawingattachedtothemotor.
2.7.2Slidingbearingdevice
Slidingbearingisaseparatedevicewhichisfixedontheendplateofmotorframe.
Onbothsidesofslidingbearingthereareoilinlet,oil-levelobserveroroiloutlet,bearingthermodetector
elementmountedhole,oildrainageholeandspaceforheater.Theoilinletandtheoiloutletarereadyforthe
cyclinglubricatingoilwithpressure.
Theslidingbearingisthetypeofendshieldautomaticselfaligningball,thesurfaceofcontactbetween
bushandbearingsocketaswellasbearingcoveristhetypeofsphericalface.
Theslidingbearingadopttheconstructiontypeofsuspensionlabyrinthsealsandairseals,whichenable
topreventtheoilleakingfrombearing.
Onthebearingsocketoftheslidingbearingatnon-shaftextensionendthereisalayerofinsulation
materialtoavoidcurrentthroughmotorshaftoccurring.
Therearethreetypesoflubricatingmodesinslidingbearing:
Self-lubricatingmode,ofwhichthebearingisoiledbyaoilring;lubricatingmodeofcyclingoilwithpressure,
ofwhichthebearingisoiledbyaoilsupplysystemconsistingofouteroilpump,oilpipelineandbearing;
combinationlubricatingmodewhichisacombinationoftheabove-mentionedtwomodes,i.e.Combinationof
pressureandoilring.Brandoflubricantpleaserefertotheoutlinedrawing.
BasicenclosureofslidingbearingisthedegreeofprotectionIP44.Onrequest,theenclosurecouldbe
degreeofprotectionIP54andIP55whicharethatanexternalcoverofwaterresistanceanddustproofisadded
basedontheenclosureofIP44.
Thebearingbushadopttheconstructionofsingleoilwedgecylinder,hastwoconstructiontypeofwith
thrustfaceandwithoutthrustface,thebushwiththrustfaceisforlimitingtheaxialthrustresultingfromthe
motoritself,anddoesn’tbeartheouterthrustload.Whenthemotorwithslidingbearinghastobeartheouter
axialthrust,whichshouldbedemonstratedatordering.
Thefrontandtherearbearingbushofsametypecouldbeinterchanged(differentbearingscouldn'tbe
interchanged).
2.8Terminalbox
2.8.1Terminalboxconsistsofaterminalboxbase,acoverandsomeinsulationbushes.
2.8.2Fortheterminalboxratedatvoltageof3kVandabove,itsinsulationbushismadeofchemicallypressing
resinelementorelectricporcelain.Fortheterminalboxusedforlowvoltagerating,terminalstudisadopted.
2.8.3Theterminalboxiswhollysealed,andthespacebetweentheterminalboxandthemotorisalsosealed,
whichcanpreventwateranddustfromingressingintheterminalboxandmotorinterior.Enclosuredegreeisof
IP54,andalsocanbeofIP55onrequest.
2.8.4Therearethreeinsulationbushesinsidetheterminalboxforasingleratedvoltage;oftheratedvoltagein
twotype,theresixornineinsulationbushesinsidetheterminalbox,amongwhichthelowerthreeinsulation
pushesareforinletcables.
2.8.5Therearegroundingdeviceandwiringmarkplateinsidetheterminalbox.
2.8.6Uponrequest,thereistightingarrestorormutualinductormountedintheterminalbox.
2.9Sliprings
Forthewoundtypemotortheslipringisnormallymountedoutsidetheframeatthenon-driveendwhose
enclosuredegreeisIP23,anditalsocanbeIP44orIP54onrequest,italsocanbemountedinsidetheframe.
2.9.1Nobrush-liftingdeviceisused,afterastartingiscompletedbrushesstillcontactwiththeslipring.Brush-
liftingdevicemaybeusedforratedvoltageof380Vandbelow.
2.9.2Numberofbrushesandcrosssectionofleadingcablesrequireddifferfromeachotherdependingonthe
ratedcurrent.
2.9.3Somemotorsareequippedwiththecarboncollectingdevice,mountedundertheslipring,beingthetypeof
drawer,whenitiscleanedoffperiodically,screwoffthesecuringstuds,takeoutthedeviceandcleanoffitby
waterorcompressingair,putitbackinitsposition.
2.9.4ThebrandofbrushisJ204orJ206,uponrequest,otherbrandisalsoappropriate.
2.10Air-aircooler
Itisso-calledair-aircoolerthatheatofcirculatingairinthemotorinteriorisexchangedbyitscoolingpipesfrom
whichheatiscarriedawaybycoolingairforcedfromanexternalfanlocatedatthenon-driveend.Itissuitable
fortotallyenclosedtypemotor.
2.10.1Thecoolingpipesfittedontwoendplatesbywayofopeningexpandedatbothends,havinggoodsealing
function.
